Lightfoot attacks Abbott's Christianity
for busing migrants to Chicago

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot bashed Texas Gov. Greg Abbott over the holiday weekend on the basis of his religion, claiming that the state's migrant busing initiative went against the premise of Christianity. Lightfoot, a Democrat, blasted the Republican after a second bus of migrants was dropped off in the Illinois city. Just over 100 migrants have been dropped off in Chicago over the past week, compared to the 1 million who have been released into the United States along the southern border since President Joe Biden took office.(Snip) "He professes to be a Christian," Lightfoot said during a press conference Sunday. Far be it from me to question one's Christianity, but Mayor Beetlejuice loses me at the "Thou Shalt Not Murder" commandment. She certainly looks the other way as dozens of her citizens are murdered, many innocently, each month in her city. And her big issue is a bus or two of migrants? Talk to the good people of Del Rio and Eagle Pass, Texas who see the equivalent of their entire city population enter within several days.

Lori, please be reminded that chicago is a sanctuary city. That means you, YOUR CITY, receives federal dollars to accept those seeking sanctuary. Wheres the problem here. You get what You are paid for.

I love it when atheist lie-berals (add homosexuals to the mix for even more laughs) try to tell Christians what is "being Christian"!!!! Every one of these illegal aliens that get on these busses do so voluntarily. Nobody forces them to go. They just believe the lie-beral BS that Chicago (and other Demon-Rat run cities are "sanctuary paradises") and gladly want to go there. So, Mayor Beetlejuice, do the "Christian" thing and make them feel welcome!!!!!

Pravda portrays Gov. Abbott as a border hawk, despite doing nothing at all to stop "migrants" from entering the USA, or better still, returning them to Mexico or somewhere offshore. That's because like Boy George and Rick "Gov. Goodhair" Perry before him, the powers that be love actors who puff up while leaving the gate wide open. Same deal in NYC; Pravda and the city government blame Greg Abbott, but that's a deflection because 90% of the "migrants" were flown there under cover of darkness by the federal government.

Didn't the mayor declare Chicago to be a sanctuary city? All Abbott is doing is let her city be just that. What is she whining about? I think she should worry more about how un-Christian it is to let her citizens get slaughtered and do nothing about it

Chicago can't get any worse than it already is. Who knows, maybe those migrants will stand up to those gang bangers in Chicago and teach them a lesson -- that's probably what Lightfoot is worried about -- she's worried about her constituent who votes her into office.

Why would she have any objection at all to this? Chicago being a sanctuary city to begin with… But haven’t liberals been touting the virtues of immigrants who enter the US without going through customs or legal process? Haven’t they criticized everyone who objects to the notion as being racist? If she objects to them being bussed to Chicago, then how isn’t she admitting that they’re an unpleasant burden? And how does she expect other states and cities to suffer them cheerfully when she won’t? She’s a pathetic elitist hypocrite. But I’m just playing Captain Obvious.

Abbott has no statutory authority to "close the gates." Biden has both the authority and responsibility , vis-a-vis federal law to close the gates but he refuses to enforce the law in direct contravention of the Constitution's Take Care Clause in Article 2, Section 3: "Take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed." Article 2 is not written for state governors, like Abbott or DeSantis, to enforce federal laws; it specifically vests the power of the executive branch in the office of the president of the United States, lays out the procedures for electing and removing the president, and establishes the president's powers and responsibilities.
