GOP slams FBI ‘suppression’ of Hunter
Biden whistleblower Bobulinski

Washington—Republicans blasted the FBI as politically biased Monday after The Post reported that disgraced ex-FBI agent Timothy Thibault was the “point man” for former Hunter Biden business partner Tony Bobulinski—and never followed up with him about his bombshell claims. Bobulinski alleged one month before the 2020 election that Joe Biden was involved with his son Hunter and brother Jim’s dealings with Chinese energy company CEFC, which reportedly paid the Bidens $4.8 million in 2017 and 2018.(Snip)“Where does it stop?” tweeted Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, the top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee. “According to brave whistleblowers, Timothy Thibault: -Tried to shut down an avenue

Comments:

Where does it stop? With Republicans that merely tweet and make occasional noises in the newspapers, it doesn't. Has any 2024 GOP hopeful made a credible vow to strip these many agencies to their foundations? Not even close, not even from Mr. Lock Her Up. We can fantasize all we like, but there's little hope for change to be had.

Come November, the Republicans will control the federal budget. A 90% slash in FBI funding may be in order.

OP, thank you. Republicans are silent because they want to be. Clearly, they intend to do as little as possible before November. You get no sharp definitive statements from them and if anything specific slips through, little will be done. We have had promises by Darrell Issa, Trey Gowdy, and nothing came from either of their investigations. My advice. Stop investigating because you are terrible at it and no one is held accountable. Get on with your work for the American people. Pass some legislation that is effective and gets this oppressive government off our backs. Tackle the hard issues. Tell the truth and quit shoving your faces in the trough and devouring everything that benefits you. You are there to serve, not enrich yourselves. The DOJ should not need your referral to go after criminal activity. It should be the one doing the investigation. However, that agency is broken and so biased that they refuse to investigate crimes that have been revealed by the media to involve democrats. Our government is in chaos and until we get real leadership and the determination to fix it, nothing changes.

Once again, the whole sordid two-tiered justice mess can be framed in a single, horrid concept: we are now a nation of men, not of laws. We were warned about this.

Boston—Attorney General Maura Healey won the Democratic primary for Massachusetts governor on Tuesday, bringing her one step closer to becoming the first openly gay candidate and first woman elected to the state’s top political office—eight years after she was elected the nation’s first openly gay attorney general. Healey, whose only rival for the nomination dropped out of the race but remained on the ballot, will be the heavy favorite in November against the winner of the Republican primary. Former state Rep. Geoff Diehl, who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, and businessman Chris Doughty, who is considered more moderate, are running for the GOP nomination.

Leading pediatricians in the United States are saying that some young children may need two flu shots this year after the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted vaccination schedules last year and amid reports of a more viscous flu season in the southern hemisphere. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) put out a notice Tuesday that children between the ages of six months and eight years old who have received less than two flu shots during their life should double up on the jabs this time around. The two shots should be received around a month apart from one-another. It comes in response to faltering flu shot demand

Is that on sale? White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre received social media scorn Tuesday after she accidentally called Russia’s Nord Stream 1 pipeline “Nordstrom”—as in the department store. The slip of the tongue came as President Biden’s chief spokeswoman accused Russia of fueling an energy crisis in Europe by shutting down the pipeline, which supplies natural gas to large swathes of the continent. “What we see Russia is doing, we’ve been very clear about this, they’re using energy, they’re weaponizing energy,” Jean-Pierre told reporters during her regular press briefing. “One of the things that has been out there… they shut down the pipeline of Nordstrom 1.”

Most Americans will need to get an annual vaccine for the Chinese coronavirus, Anthony Fauci, outgoing chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden, said this week. Fauci suggested that it is becoming “clear” that coronavirus jabs, in the future, should be treated and viewed simply as an annual flu shot. “It is becoming increasingly clear that looking forward with the COVID-19 pandemic, in the absence of a dramatically different variant, we likely are moving towards a path with a vaccination cadence similar to that of the annual influenza vaccine, with annual updated COVID-19 shots matched to the currently circulating strains for most of the population,” he stated,

Student loan debt could return in less than a decade to the same level it was before President Biden canceled nearly $600 billion of debt at taxpayer expense, according to a study this week from the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget. Ahead of Mr. Biden’s announcement last month, there was $1.6 trillion of outstanding student loan debt. That could fall to $1.1 trillion if all eligible borrowers opt for debt forgiveness. But the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, a nonpartisan fiscal responsibility advocacy group, estimates the overall student debt portfolio will return to $1.6 trillion by 2028. Adjusted for inflation, it means that student debt would return

In President Joe Biden’s 2007 memoir, Promises to Keep: On Life and Politics, he wrote that the late Sen. Mike Mansfield (D-Mont.) gave him the best advice he ever received: “Joe, never attack another man’s motive, because you don’t know his motive.” Judging from Biden’s increasingly belligerent speeches, he has forgotten Mansfield’s eminently wise counsel. This was rendered abundantly clear during his Thursday speech at Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Standing before a backdrop that looked as if it had been designed by Leni Riefenstahl, he attacked the motives of half the electorate.
