It may be time to pass on gas.
The more than 40 million households in the US who use a gas stove might want to consider an alternative.
New findings have shown that gas stoves — even when turned off — may cause asthma in children and put adults at risk of cancer.
Dr. Jonathan Levy, an environmental health professor at Boston University, claimed the stoves may pollute the air with nitrogen dioxide, which can cause lung damage.
The pollutant, a “byproduct of fuel combustion,” is also the same that is produced on major highways, but since the kitchen is an enclosed space, it puts inhabitants at more risk.

BS.
All of a sudden?
Natural gas has been used in the US for over 100 years but suddenly it's a big problem.

If you believe this, then your brain is well on its way to mush.
Econazis will fall over themselves to fund grifters like this for more fear-porn rather than paying for some useful research like checking all the "safe and effective" jabs.

As the late, great Rush Limbaugh used to say, “science has determined that carrots are a major cause of death. In a recent study, it was determined that of all consumers of carrots born before 1900, 100% or now dead.”

The will surely be a lot of studies coming out that a lot of things that have worked just fine for years and years are suddenly causing cancer for some other ailment. Of course, these ailments will all be caused by things that just happen to be on the hit list of the climate change activists.

In 1976 we decided to use natural gas. The gas supply was cheaper than anything else. My parents used natural gas. I do not have asthma. I am not dead. I think I will heat up my coffee once more.
Trump won.

Agree with #1. How long have we been using natural gas? Now it's a problem? Now they will ban gas stoves. Have to save the planet. Fossil fuels bad! Besides, don't want junior coming down with asthma? That would be child abuse! Do it for the children!
Something new for the left to go to war against.

Inotice a lot of 'May's in there. In other words, no scientific study has been done. More likely, some damned little Demon Contributor is lined up ready to sell electric stoves for a handsome profit. That's the way Democrats reward loyalty. The scales of Economics and the scales of justice can both be swayed by a finger on one side, and often are.
Another possibility is that they are attempting to weigh the scales so that when they shut off electricity to Americans, they can paralyze and endanger more of us, when we start rebelling.

LIES.
They are desperate to come up with some sort of a reason that the most wonderful energy supply that we have, the easiest, cheapest and safest to ship (via pipelines) is somehow "bad".
So they invent lies like this.
Purely political lies. I don't believe one word of it.

I'm asthmatic. Have been all my life. Asthma is a genetic disorder. Not caused by anything other than your genetics. It can be aggravated by external factors.
They are trying to take away gas stoves with this new proclamation.

Shame on the New York Post for gullibly reporting what is obviously an agenda motivated hit on gas ranges. I realize that the anti-fossil fuel fanatics want gas stoves eliminated but for a paper to go along with the agenda by reporting this trash “study” uncritically is depressing.

This is unadulterated crapola. One look at “Dr.” Levy’s picture and you know he’s a wild-eyed nutcase. Both of my parents grew up cooking with natural gas, and so did I. Before my parents got natural gas, they used wood and corn cobs.... they both lived past 90 years old.

If gas stoves caused all of that then why don't I and my 6 siblings have asthma or or cancer as adults. Because of the first 10 years we had gas stoves the 3 houses we lived in. One had a huge furnace in the basement. My first apartment as a young bachelor had gas heat and stove. I could barely cook and used the microwave oven that was an old dial Radar Range. This is just pure BS from the leftist "scientists" at BU.

You can see the lack of confidence, or certainty in this "finding".
FTA:
"may cause"
claimed the stoves "may pollute"
Those are hardly strong findings of any sort, and the essential rationale for this "finding" is to demonize natural gas, which is clean burning, as an alternative to the Democrats desire to destroy energy producers and those who have jobs related to the energy sector.
An actual finding would have words saying "it will", "it does cause", etc..

This is all part of the push for all-electric homes in the belief that they're more "environmentally friendly." They're not, but that's not stopping the nanny state from mandating heat pumps instead of gas or fuel oil furnaces, and electric stoves. Never mind that heat pumps only work down to about 40 degrees (after which they have to be supplemented with other forms of heat) and we're not building enough power plants to charge electric cars, and power all-electric homes.

Bull feathers. I grew up for twenty years in a home heated with gas. I am 80 and no lung problems. In fact, I would swap my electric stove for gas today except for the expense. Gas is much better to cook on. Much more control. Most professional kitchens cook with gas.

BUT, since going electric, I have developed asthma.
Most likely cause is all those pine trees where I retired, puffing their sticky pollen in waves every year.

years ago when Clinton was hyping his "Sick Buildings" programs to "Cure Asthma" by ameliorating lead paint and other things he claimed "caused Asthma" in primarily black people...Multiple studies showed that the biggest(non-genetic)cause was roach infestations, not just the live ones, not just their droppings but also years/decades worth of their shed skins, which only gathered in enough quantity to be harmful in persistently dirty/uncleaned homes.
