Gas stoves linked to asthma in children,
adult cancers, scientist warns

It may be time to pass on gas. The more than 40 million households in the US who use a gas stove might want to consider an alternative. New findings have shown that gas stoves — even when turned off — may cause asthma in children and put adults at risk of cancer. Dr. Jonathan Levy, an environmental health professor at Boston University, claimed the stoves may pollute the air with nitrogen dioxide, which can cause lung damage. The pollutant, a “byproduct of fuel combustion,” is also the same that is produced on major highways, but since the kitchen is an enclosed space, it puts inhabitants at more risk.

Comments:

Even when turned off?
Not to worry. We can cook and heat with 'tricity.

Agree with #1. How long have we been using natural gas? Now it's a problem? Now they will ban gas stoves. Have to save the planet. Fossil fuels bad! Besides, don't want junior coming down with asthma? That would be child abuse! Do it for the children! Something new for the left to go to war against.

Inotice a lot of 'May's in there. In other words, no scientific study has been done. More likely, some damned little Demon Contributor is lined up ready to sell electric stoves for a handsome profit. That's the way Democrats reward loyalty. The scales of Economics and the scales of justice can both be swayed by a finger on one side, and often are. Another possibility is that they are attempting to weigh the scales so that when they shut off electricity to Americans, they can paralyze and endanger more of us, when we start rebelling.

You can see the lack of confidence, or certainty in this "finding". FTA: "may cause" claimed the stoves "may pollute" Those are hardly strong findings of any sort, and the essential rationale for this "finding" is to demonize natural gas, which is clean burning, as an alternative to the Democrats desire to destroy energy producers and those who have jobs related to the energy sector. An actual finding would have words saying "it will", "it does cause", etc..

This is all part of the push for all-electric homes in the belief that they're more "environmentally friendly." They're not, but that's not stopping the nanny state from mandating heat pumps instead of gas or fuel oil furnaces, and electric stoves. Never mind that heat pumps only work down to about 40 degrees (after which they have to be supplemented with other forms of heat) and we're not building enough power plants to charge electric cars, and power all-electric homes.

President Joe Biden pledged to build a high-speed railway between Scranton, Pennsylvania, and New York City on Wednesday. The president made his bold (and likely unrealistic) pronouncement during his post-midterm election press conference on Wednesday when recalling how a congressman in the state of Pennsylvania asked if his infrastructure plan would include a high-speed rail between the two cities. “We can. First of all, it will make it a lot easier to take a lot of vehicles off the road, and we have more money in the pot now already out there that we voted for than the entire money that we spend on Amtrak, to begin with,” he said.

However, the post failed to mention that the COLA adjustment was due to surging, decades-high inflation. COLA adjustments have been automatically done every year for decades due to federal law, and the adjustments are not contingent on any of the Biden administration’s policies. “The point was incomplete,” a White House official told The Epoch Times via email.

America's #1 cable news channel was the outlet that former vice president Mike Pence chose on Tuesday evening to do everything but formally declare that he will be a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024. In an extensive live interview with Bret Baier from New York, where he is promoting his political memoir, So Help Me God, published yesterday (including an hour-long town hall on CNN tonight), Pence used the high-profile platform of Fox News to position himself as a sane, moderate, Christian-inspired alternative to President Trump as well as any other candidates among the growing number who plan to challenge President Biden in two years.

Former first daughter Ivanka Trump said late Tuesday that she would play no part in her father’s 2024 presidential campaign, one day after The Post reported the former commander-in-chief had pleaded with her to be on stage with him when he announced his run. “I love my father very much. This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics,” Ivanka, 41, said in a statement. “While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena,” she added.

House Republicans nominated Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (Calif.) to be Speaker in a closed-door conference meeting on Tuesday after he faced a last-minute protest challenge from Rep. Andy Biggs (Ariz.), a former chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus. McCarthy won easily, 188 to 31, in the internal conference meeting. But in the eyes of Biggs and his supporters, the goal was merely to demonstrate that McCarthy lacks the support to seize the gavel when the full House meets to choose the Speaker early next year. The 31 votes opposing McCarthy easily met that threshold, raising immediate questions

Senate Republicans voted Wednesday to elect Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) as their leader over National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman Rick Scott (R-Fla.) who announced his desire to replace McConnell at an acrimonious conference meeting Tuesday. A large majority of GOP senators voted to elect McConnell leader after a motion backed by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and other conservatives to delay the leadership election until after the Dec. 6 Georgia runoff failed.

Far-left network MSNBC did not carry former President Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign announcement speech live. Trump spoke at 9 p.m. on November 15 from Mar-a-Lago. Fox News aired most of the speech, but also cut away for analysis from Sean Hannity, Mike Huckabee, Pete Hegseth, Leo Terrell, and others. “CNN also carried Trump’s remarks live but cut away after about 20 minutes to offer analysis from a political panel and fact-checks of the various claims Trump made during his speech on issues ranging from energy to the results of the midterm elections,” The Hill reports.

Recalling how former Vice Presidents Al Gore and Dan Quayle fulfilled their roles in certifying elections they lost was much more influential in former Vice President Mike Pence’s ceremonial ending of the 2020 campaign than his boss, former President Donald Trump. In one of several interviews to promote his new book, Pence said he looked to the examples of Quayle and Gore in deciding to certify the election of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on Jan. 6, 2021.
