Death of a ‘salesman’ in New York
after Gov. Kathy Hochul signs ‘salespeople’ law

Willy Loman is no more, at least in New York state law. Gov. Kathy Hochul signed legislation Thursday replacing the word “salesman” with “salesperson” — the latest in a series of moves by Albany toward gender-neutral and other woke language. “Jobs have no gender, but unfortunately, many of our state’s laws still use gendered language when discussing professions that are practiced by people of all genders,” state Sen. Anna Kaplan (D-Nassau) said of the bill she sponsored with Assemblyman Danny O’Donnell (D-Manhattan).

Thank you, thank you. Sleep well America. Kathy has our back. We are in good hands. I am sure she and her staff are hot on the trail of another offensive word. Our country is a total wreck and this is what democrats are focusing on? Come on, man! We know the democrat party has abandoned any semblance of responsible governing when they attack our language but ignore the rampant crime, filth, and mayhem in the state of New York that their policies have created. I honestly do not believe democrats could function today without the absurdity of gender in some way being shoved down our throats. Since time began the word, “man” in its various tenses has been used to describe an entire group. It was not meant to exclude anyone but as an inclusionary word meaning all. While you can argue it was primarily used to describe men due to the culture at the time, there are many instances when it was used as a blanket statement meaning all of us. It was a convenience of sorts and one that was used because of efficiency. Some will say let the left have their little foibles but language is a serious construct that has serious ramifications. It now is being used as a tool by leftist bullies to control us and make us conform. They want to hold us captive with the absurdities of language that they insist we use. We must mentally run through our speech through their filter of what is and what it not acceptable. Ignore this. Speak your mind the way you always have. We cannot bow down to their language Nazis. Who are they to demand anything of us in a free society? As my grandkids would say, you’re not the boss of me! The left is not the arbitrator of language in this country. We must stop going along with this nonsense. Stop letting the left bully us into submission. Let them speak however they wish. It just makes it easier to recognize those among us who have already succumbed to their programming.

Way back in the 1960s, or so, a former teacher wrote a book called 'Up The Down Staircase.' She wrote about an incompetent principal, who, unable to deal with real issues in educating the students, created and enforced silly rules, having up staircases and down staircases in the school. Our government at the federal level with Dementia Jo, and many state and local governments, are caught in this up the down staircase mode. Instead of dealing with real issues, they are substituting inane rules, language changes, and silliness. Meaningless mask rules to fight Kung Flu, even though we knew the masks didn't make a difference, except for criminals who could ropb banks with impunity, continue in many places.

But in an exclusive interview with The Washington Times, Mr. Pence took a more cautious line, saying there is a myriad of issues he must sort out before he agrees to talk to the panel.

Prior to that ten-year period, argues Chronicle reporter Oyin Adedoyin, “The story of Black college students in the USA was a narrative of success.” Judging only by numbers, Adedoyin is right. Black population on campus grew nine-fold from 1966 to 2010. The decline since 2010 puzzles administrators given the thousands of DEI officers they have hired and the myriad enticements they have offered to Black students.
