Following a decision by the Minnesota Public Schools, a new policy has been enacted that will lay off white teachers first — if the district needs to downsize, white teachers will be fired first.
As my colleague Jeff Charles reported, the agreement states:
“Starting with the Spring 2023 Budget Tie-Out Cycle, if excessing a teacher who is a member of a population underrepresented among licensed teachers in the site, the District shall excess the next least senior teacher, who is not a member of an underrepresented population.”

For some reason they want a Judge in a court to tell them that they can’t legally discriminate against anyone because of their race. Then again maybe they are just looking for attention.

Don't discriminate against us, but if you're white, it's your turn to be discriminated against. Did I get it right? MLK would be so proud...

Since White people pay most of the taxes, they should go on a tax revolt.. Demand money from the state to build private schools for the underclass Whites. What are they trying to do. Start a race riot or something?

White teachers should get ahead of this by quitting NOW. Go into other states or other professions, and let Minnesota build its Diversity Paradise!

A non-story!? Wow. Just wow? Who are these people and how did they get this way? This is so un-American it’s difficult to grasp. Illegal, unconstitutional and just wrong on every level.

If that language is correct as stated, it actually requires them to lay off teachers in pairs, one minority and one white. It doesn't say *instead of excessing a teacher who is a member of a population underrepresented," it says "if excessing..." Can the teachers really be that bad at language? Ha, I amuse myself.

Most people with any common sense have fled Minneapolis. It's a Woke/Leftist pressure cooker which will eventually be renamed Mogadishu on the Prairie.

Any one have the percentage of white people vs "under-represented" in the State of Minnesota? OR at least the percentage in Minneapolis? When I lived in North Dakota, about the only Blacks that lived there were in the Air Force or going to UND. Most were not there by choice. Minnesota can't be much different. So if out of 100 teachers, 3 are Black, is that because 97% of the population is white? If so the "under- represented" are there by choice and should not be given special treatment.

And, no, you racist pig, we will not just be good little mindless drones and just accept this pure evil racism!!!!!
There were many white people who marched with MLK, because they agreed with his dream. But evil racist vermin like this school board have turned MLK's dream into a racist nightmare!!!!!

You people might want to read a summary of the Piscataway case, which is accurately summarized on Wikipedia.
In Piscataway, the school district laid off a white business ed teacher and kept a black business ed teacher, for the sake of diversity.
The 3rd circuit ruled against the school district, and the school district appealed to ther U.S. Supreme Court.
Enters Dollar Bill Clinton. Clinton, knowing the U.S. Supreme Court would uphold the 3td circuit decision, contacted his wealthy friends, and they chipped in enough money to bribe the Piscataway School District, which then withdrew its appeal.
The 3rd circuit decision, then, was good law, only for those states under the 3rd circuit jurisdiction.
And as a bit oif a comic incident, during one of the debates between Clinton and Dole, Dole mumbled, 'what about Piscataway?'
And no one knew what Dole was mumbling about.

Non story? Now imagine if this were reversed and it was minority teachers who were getting the shaft. Either way teachers, you are proceeding in an illegal and unconstitutional fashion. But then, you liberals aren't known for your intelligence. Just your group think agenda.
One of the perks of being older like I am, is that I remember NYC and the complaints of parents about the pockets of minority schools that didn't have white teachers, only minority ones. Those students were unfortunately not getting an equal education comparable to the students who had lots of white teachers. This is what is heading to Minneapolis if these fools get their way.

If I were a white teacher in Minnesota, I would be sending my resume to a red state. Or go work in a private school. No point in working your tail off just to be fired.

Why is the totally absurd allowed to considered the standard?
The quality and professionalism of a teacher can be seen in the progress and learning of their pupils.
The responsibility to educate a child has absolutely NOTHING to do with race.
Excellent teachers should be applauded, not cut down because of the color of their skin.
Unfortunately, in many cases, race has taken precedent over qualifications to do the job... look no further than the lady who took over for Psaki who shows herself to be almost totally incompetent for the job.
