Grassley Vows to Take Back the Senate,
Says McConnell Was Just Trying to 'Wake
People Up' With His Glum Comments

Republican Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa told Fox News on Friday that Mitch McConnell’s glum warning about the GOP’s Senate prospects in the midterms were an effort “to wake people up.” The Kentucky Republican Senator had said on Thursday, “I think there’s probably a greater likelihood the House flips than the Senate. Senate races are just different. They’re statewide. Candidate quality has a lot to do with the outcome.” Many interpreted this as the minority leader attempting to downplay expectations, and were not pleased: But Grassley painted a rosier picture as he attended the Iowa State Fair: We are going to take back the majority because of the fact

We have had enough of you Biden RINOS Hunter democrats and all of the rest of the hot mess this country is in. We don’t was $7/gal gas we don’t want electric vehicles we don’t want runaway inflation and higher taxes and utility bills and we especially don’t want you. Just go away quietly.

McConnel is asleep at the wheel and needs to wake up himself! His statement made it seem like he had thrown in the towel already. McConnell's Debbie Downer demeanor does not inspire confidence in the Republicans ability to win the Senate majority.

Maybe Mitch knows that his days as Majority Leader are over- --and so, if he can keep the GOP from gaining the majority, he won't suffer the humiliation of being defeated as Majority Leader.

We need to function as if the established fact is that Mitch McConnell is not one of us. He doesn't want new blood in the Senate, and as state above, he knows he won't be elected leader, so he'd rather destroy the chances of new blood coming in and upsetting the gig they currently have going. RINOs have a lot to lose. Mitch is okay with the House majority; he's hoping that in the Senate, he and Chuck will be able to stop everything a strong Republican led House will do to reverse our destruction.

Come on Chuck, don’t give China Mitch any relief. McConnell never deserved to be the leader. He was selected under the establishment rules of seniority (they have a list of who’s turn is next etc.). It was never based on skill or diplomacy.

All the GOP needs to do to take the Senate is gain one seat. That said, McConnell really doesn't care if the GOP retakes the Senate, as long as he holds his "leadership" position. If anything, Mitch's Chinese overlords would be happy if the Dems continue to control the Senate.

Mitch McConnell is a self-absorbed elitist who is very comfortable with the way Washington works. The prestige, perks, deals, wealth, it is all good. It is his responsibility to make sure the status quo is protected and that means the great unwashed masses have one purpose and that is to get he and his friends re-elected. Their exclusive little club must be protected and maintained for the sole purpose of increasing the size of government. Don’t be fooled, neither party is for limited government. The bigger the better for their purposes. McConnell saw a sea change coming with the election of Donald Trump and it was not good. He was the change Washington always has feared. The power of what the people wanted for the country was the driving force of his administration, and this was unthinkable to McConnell. The great unwashed masses having a say in the way government worked? You can smell the condescension wafting from the soft old bag of flesh. The last thing McConnell wants is his power eroded by any new upstart who does not known how the system works especially anyone who supports the MAGA movement. Mitch is there for one reason. To protect himself and the status quo. He is not concerned with the will of the people because he considers them inferior and unworthy to dare demand change. Mitch is protecting a system that has failed the people time and time again. The fight for the soul of this country is too important to leave to men like Mitch McConnell. You cannot fix the problem if your solution is to use the cause of the problem as a tool. McConnell must go.

I can’t believe that there will ever be another fair election in this country and Mitch knows that. I hear nothing from the right side of the aisle on how to prevent election fraud. To be a politician you have to have a big ego and be a narcissists, neither trait’s I admire. They all look good when they run for election but at the end of the day they are all the same.

Sorry Senator Grassley, we all heard McConnell mumbling his view (hope) that the vile Democrats keep the Senate. Contrast his dour negativity with Nancy Pelosi’s consistent, optimistic message that the Democrats will keep the House. Unfortunately senators like Grassley are a major problem for us who want to get this country back on track. Grassley is 88 years old and has been a senator for 42 years. He lost control of the Kavenaugh hearing within 5 minutes after it had begun. He swore he would get to the bottom of the leak to the media that Diane Feinstein’s office made about Kavenaugh’s accuser. We’re still waiting on that. Grassley is past it, McConnell is not only useless but works diligently against us. He doesn’t get a pass because he did what any leader would have done regarding a Supreme Court opening in the final year of a president’s term. Thanks, Mitch, for that, now get lost.

No, he was discussing the "likelihood" of flipping. If the House has a 90% chance and the Senate an 80% chance...well? No fan of McConnell, but he's "guilty" of much greater political crimes.

I detest when people start boasting about their winning hand before the cards are dealt (especially when the deck is probably notched), talking about what they'll do when they get the majority, like impeaching this person, that person. Just say, "We're going to fight like heck to keep the people's trust and win over more support." But DO say "We're going to do everything legislatively possible to restore freedom where this Congress and this President have been crushing and eradicating Liberty. And don't promise what you don't intend to keep or know it's not possible to achieve. But do have lofty and honorable goals. And, do it! Stop sidelining the Party firebrands. Support them, encourage them. They are trying to save the Republic from the liars and frauds, the socialists and outright commies, the open borderers who despise our country, those who are demolishing our Constitutional framework. Don't these check-pant Repubs (borrowing from Michael Savage) get it? Their colleagues on the "Other Side" hate our Republic, they hate those of who love her, they really do want single-Party totalitarian command and control. They've deviated way, way beyond their daddy's Dem Party. The Leadership obviously emulates Leninist "rule the Party with an iron fist," and the "rank and file" think it's dandy, and they'll get a piece of the pie (unlike those in every other communist regime. heh heh, Sops!) No time to be futzing around with niceties... this is what helped us to get where we are, in a dangerous tangle of quagmire. Protect the children from predators of all kinds.

I heard that all the big gambling money is going on the Democrats actually adding seats in the House and Senate in November. Looks like the big bettors know that the fix is in (again (still?)) much better than the pundits and GOP analysts do. Almost nothing has been done to counter the cheating machine that was so obvious in November 2020 and after. The very few states, counties and precincts that tried to see to honest elections have been slapped down by crooked judges, the commissioners threatened by loss of jobs, money, freedom, or even their lives if they continue to push for honest electuions, And in the mean time, Joebama, Pelosi and Schumer continue advancing the complete D.C. Swamp takeover of all elections.

Chuck Grassley is 88 years old and is running again for his seat. Give it up, Chuck. Let someone younger run. Grassley is a player and given how long he's been in the Senate he's as much of a problem as McConnell. He is definitely covering the butt of his good friend McConnell. McConnell's statement puts a stake in the heart of he republican fundraising effort. YOU CANNOT TURN OUT YOUR VOTERS WITHOUT SUBSTANTIAL SUMS OF MONEY. And voter turnout will win this election. And if that clown Rick Scott is in agreement with McConnell, what the hell kind of head of the senatorial republican election effort is he? I cringed when I saw he was the guy that was going to honcho the republican senatorial victory. He is a ZERO. No Chuck. Mitch wasn't trying to wake anyone up. He is a traitor, does not want the responsibility of being in the majority, but wants all of the perks. He needs to go but he has his cadre of 18 or so senators that will continue to vote him in as the republican leader. As someone else on the thread said, THEY are the problem, and they are. We are in a very bad place in this country and McConnell, Grassley, Rick Scott, Murkowsi, Collins, et. al. together with the criminal democrats are the reason. If we manage to win the House and Senate in November both McConnell and McCarthy have to go if we are to save America. With those two in the "majority" nothing will change and I don't see either one of them being ousted. Very, very bad times for the people of America.

This probably shouldn’t shock you. It didn’t shock me. But it is interesting that an outlet like the Washington Post would so brazenly set out to prove it. In a piece titled “As Biden turns toward midterms, he may not be the top surrogate,” the Post surveyed dozens of Democrats, scoured their ads, social media, and websites, and realized that Joe Biden seems to be deeply unpopular this midterm cycle. Of the 60 or so Democrats they asked, very few said they wanted Biden (or anyone from his administration, actually) to come campaign with them. He’s being attacked more often in televised ads than Obama was at this point in 2010

If you’ve been following the political chatter for the last month or so, one common theme being pushed by the press and data nerd Twitter is the idea of a Democrat “comeback” before the mid-terms. Historically, every headwind is against Joe Biden and his party, but as the story goes, things will be different this time. After all, the Democrats passed the “Inflation Reduction Act” that doesn’t actually reduce inflation, and Democrats have taken some leads on the generic ballot since the overturning of Roe v. Wade. My response has been different, though. The generic ballot has often understated Republican support in environments

Some of the Democrats who have been spiking the ball in the end zone after the passage of the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” probably didn’t read all of the finer details in the bill. They’ve been celebrating its passage along with Joe Biden as the “biggest climate legislation” to ever be passed. They have also been grudgingly thanking West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin for getting the bill over the finish line. But it turns out that Manchin snuck in a few items that haven’t drawn many headlines yet and the climate warriors aren’t going to be very happy about them. While there were billions of dollars

Darya Dugina, daughter of the Russian nationalist philospher Alexander Dugin, sometimes described as “Putin’s brain”, has died after a car her father was due to travel in exploded. Dugin, 60, is what might be called a radical traditionalist as well as a “Eurasianist” or neo-Eurasianist — that is, he seeks the establishment of a bloc comprising the former Soviet Union, allied to the likes of Iran and Turkey, able to break the global hegemony of the U.S.-led West and lay down a new, multipolar status quo. Dugin strongly supported the annexation of the Crimea following the Western-backed Euromaidan coup in Ukraine in 2014, and pushed hard for early, strong intervention in the Donbas

He’s been referred to as “Putin’s brain” in the past. The assumption is that the car bombing was meant for Dugin but that his daughter mistakenly ended up on the receiving end of the explosion. Washington - The Supreme Court on Friday sided with Black voters who challenged Georgia's system of electing members to the state's Public Service Commission, which regulates public utilities in the state. The move was a rare example of the conservative court siding with voters over state officials in disputes regarding election rules, especially when the court is asked to act on an emergency basis. The Supreme Court restored a district court ruling requiring that this year's election for two of the commission seats be postponed so that the legislature could create a new system for electing commissioners.

Mike Pence fueled the flames of a future run for president by appearing alongside Chuck Grassley at the Iowa State Fair this week and making a visit to the senator's home to 'talk issues.' The former vice president and Senator Grassley were pictured on Friday sheltering from heavy rain during the state's annual August fair in Des Moines, Iowa. On Saturday, Pence, 63, continued his swing through the state by joining the Bremer County GOP's second annual 'grill and chill' event to promote Republican candidates for the midterm elections.

DES MOINES — Former Vice President Mike Pence is tapping the brakes on his willingness to testify before the House Jan. 6 committee, saying he has to ponder “profound constitutional issues” and the partisan nature of the probe before agreeing to any request. Mr. Pence recently surprised political analysts when he said he would consider testifying to the Democratic-led committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, chaos at the Capitol. But in an exclusive interview with The Washington Times, Mr. Pence took a more cautious line, saying there is a myriad of issues he must sort out before he agrees to talk to the panel.

Oh, Mike Pence, you soft, naive little man. Oh, Tim Scott, you kindly and friendly gentleman. I like you both. I really do. I would love you to be my neighbors. If I ran short of sugar or charcoal, you'd square me away. Not so much bourbon, but whatever. If I asked you to help me move or give me a ride to the airport, you suckers would be all in because you are nice guys. And that's your problem and the problem of Republicans like you. You are nice guys in a time that calls for ruthless killers who want to destroy our enemies

Rep. Dan Crenshaw on Sunday criticized fellow Republicans who continue to call for the FBI to be defunded over its search of former President Donald Trump’s private home. Mr. Crenshaw, Texas Republican, has emerged as a leading critic of those like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Georgia Republican, who advocate to “defund the FBI”—a position he compared to far-left Democrats’ calls to “defund the police.” “It’s crazy, and it makes us seem like extremist Democrats,” he told CNN’s “State of the Union.” “Marjorie and [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, New York Democrat] can go join the ‘defund the law enforcement’ club if they want; 99% of Republicans are not

In an interview Wednesday, the president of USA Gymnastics announced plans to boycott states that have limited abortion because pro-life views do not align with USAG’s values. Speaking with the Associated Press, USAG president Li Li Leung said abortion laws will be a major factor in whether a state is chosen to host future events. (Snip) Leung stepped into her role as the head of USA Gymnastics in 2019 with the hope of rebuilding trust in the organization after it allowed a pedophile USAG team doctor Larry Nassar and other pedophiles to molest hundreds of young gymnasts for decades.

In a three-minute press conference following the FBI raid on Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, Attorney General Merrick Garland cut a defiant figure, condemning critics of the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI: “I will not stand by silently when their integrity is unfairly attacked.” He then left the stage without taking questions or answering that criticism. It was a signature moment for Garland, who often responds to controversies with belated, rote remarks. His brief comments had all of the substance of a Hallmark card that read, “Trust us, we’re the government.” Yet trust has to be earned, not simply demanded

There are certain images and names that, when viewed or imagined, immediately scream “America!” Brands such as Coca-Cola and Levi’s certainly fit this bill, as do McDonald’s and Major League Baseball. But there is arguably no brand that is more iconic of America and our culture than that of the Walt Disney Company. Whether it’s images of characters such as Donald Duck, or the mere silhouette of Mickey Mouse’s ears, or even old photos of the great Walt Disney himself, people around the globe immediately associate Disney and its brand with us: America. It is for this reason that the hideous transformation of the Disney Company

Hundreds of migrants—at least some bussed to the Big Apple by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott—lined up outside Lincoln Hospital in The Bronx on Sunday to get healthcare coverage, food and other items including school supplies and free phones. The event, organized by the city hospital system, was billed as a “resource and family fun day” for the migrants and their children, many of whom have come to New York City in droves in recent weeks. “I came to New York about three days ago. I am a welder, and I am looking for work here,” Venezuelan refugee Adrian Medina, 32, said through a translator.

The foreseen “big red wave” may still be coming for the House in the midterms, but there has long been a question of how those tides may impact control of the Senate. While Fox News’ Jessica Tarlov argued “do not reduce” Democratic legislative accomplishments, her defense of the left’s chances in November seemed to highlight a broader issue faced by the GOP. The co-host of “The Five” contended the favorability for Democrats after her colleague Jeanine Pirro railed to the contrary, laying emphasis on President Joe Biden’s low job approval and perceived constant breaks from his duties. “The president has taken 150, 150 vacation days. That is five months off

Melania Trump was briefly spotted last week leaving celebrity hairdresser Frederic Fekkai’s salon in Manhattan, sporting an immaculate blow-dry. This was just days after FBI agents had stormed the Trumps’ magnificent Mar- a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida (dubbed the ‘Winter White House during his presidency), looking for classified documents, allegedly rummaging through Melania’s underwear drawer in the process. But, if the former First Lady, 52, felt any anger or emotion about the raid on her home, as always, she wasn’t showing it.

The “broken” and “famously undemocratic” U.S. Constitution “stands in the way” of “real” freedom and democracy, according to a New York Times op-ed by two Ivy League law professors. The pair issued a call to “radically alter the basic rules of the game” by no longer requiring us to “justify our politics by the Constitution.”A Friday New York Times essay, titled “The Constitution Is Broken and Should Not Be Reclaimed,” and penned by law professors Ryan D. Doerfler of Harvard and Samuel Moyn of Yale, claims when liberals “lose in the Supreme Court” they often blame justices for misreading the Constitution,
