The story of Peloton Interactive, Inc is one that in normal circumstances Americans could be extremely proud of. The company was founded only ten short years ago in New York City, the brainchild of five ambitious and daring young entrepreneurs who were looking to reimagine ways for people to stay physically fit. They were a hybrid of traditional technology and a modern fitness company, and they jumped out to an exceptionally quick start.
By the time the COVID pandemic took hold in March 2020 and changed the world forever, Peloton was poised to reap the rewards of a brilliant idea and impeccable timing.

High-priced product, woke management. A recipe for failure.

A niche market has met saturation? And more marketeers with adaptations to the theme have entered. It comes faster when you're stupid and spend time condemning your customers instead of investing in shifts in product appeal.

FTA - "And for anyone considering returning to Peloton, note that they have yet to backtrack on any of their previous virtue-signaling and woke lecturing, and are choosing instead to simply raise prices and fire employees."
An un-forced error.

FTA: "Is their reduced revenue due entirely to the non-woke walking away from Peloton? Probably not, but we can safely assume that such rejections have played a role."
Okay. High-priced product with a substantial recurring cost of usage (about $50/mo). Without the "classes" the Peloton is another piece of exercise machinery gathering dust. People want the "camaraderie" and variety of a gym, not a home exercise bike. It was a fine thing when isolated...those days have ended.

I recall, during a recent Christmas season, there was a dust up about a Peleton ad.
The story line in the ad was that a young man bought his young wife, a Peleton bike. And she was happy to receive the bike.
Protesters whined about the gift, saying it insulted the wife and further, the man must have thought his wife was fat.
That might have had an impact on sales.

The NYPost reported in May that “an estimated10,000 House of Representatives aides and 2,300 Capitol Police officers will receive Peloton All-Access and Peloton app memberships at no cost to them according to Fox Business.” “The contract with the fitness company includes a $10,000 up-front payment as well as a recurring charge of $10 per month for each staffer who takes advantage of the plan, potentially costing taxpayers up to $120,000 a month.
According to opensecrets.org,, Peloton employees donate generously to democrats.

Most of this stuff ends up on Craigslist as soon as they realize its boring as hell and there is more entertaining ways to exercise.
"Peleton treadmill barely used, $1500 new, now just $200 (OBO). Can deliver."

Got a bike. Got a neighborhood park equipped with squirrels. Pity the poor sods in Manhattan. Can't do roof top solar and have to bike in their $5000 apartment because the air outside sucks. What the hell are you thinking?

Some booming economy the Democrats get to run on, huh?
Similar to how Hillary did not run on that booming economy under Obama.

Now that you mention it, I have noticed many fewer of those annoying commercials with the screaming instructors shouting "You can do it, Peloton". I would sometimes shout back at the TV, " My name is not Peloton!"

When a company is working to destroy the country, normal people don't like that.
Get woke, go broke. Good riddance.

Being woke sure didn't help them, but how has this company stayed in business this long? You can get a decent exercise bike for under two hundred bucks. How many people are willing to pay 10x that amount plus an ongoing monthly fee?

2nd post apologies, but, #17, in their latest tv ad, they claim that 73 per cent of Peloton owners are participating in that on line stuff. If they are honest with that number, that is an excellent source of revenue.
