Russia’s Saki Air Base, safely tucked away 120 miles or more behind the front lines, lost as many as 10 warplanes and various buildings in a series of explosions on Tuesday — but how it happened remains a mystery. Very few people seem to know what actually happened, and even those witnesses are telling conflicting stories. Massive explosions rocked the airfield, home to aircraft from the Russian Navy’s 43rd Independent Naval Attack Aviation Regiment. The smoke could be seen from miles away. Satellite photos show that Russia lost at least half a dozen aircraft, including top-line Su-30 Flanker fighters and older Su-24 Fencer fighter/bombers. Several buildings appear to have been destroyed or damaged,

Its about time some "mishaps" or mystery attacks occur on the Russian side of the Ukraine /Russia War. I am surprised that none of Russia's oil infrastructure hasn't had an "accident" yet. Maybe a major oil pipeline, shipping port, or refinery might have a mystery explosion or two to put a crimp in Russia's ability to finance their war.

Saki may have been hit by a Harpoon or even an old Exocet missile jazzed up by Ukrainian technicians. They probably have several more in inventory. It would not surprise me if the Israeiis had a hand in this. It would also not surprise me if the "No Smoking" signs had been ignored by Russian layabouts. Slovenliness seems to be a common trait in the Russian military and a tossed cigarette butt the cause of the explosions.

There are giant berms around each destroyed aircraft. They were destroyed individually. No single blast could have caused this. This was an airstrike, missiles, or commandos. Period.

Shangri-La strikes again! [With a wink and a nod to FDR and Jimmy Doolittle.] The craters suggest warheads in the 1000 pound weight range. The range and accurracy suggest a weapon called "Grim". A short range ballistic missile produced in Ukraine for the Saudis.

Re #3, the Ukrainians have been working on surface attack missiles for many years. They sunk the Russian ship Moskva with one or two of their own missiles. And never imagine that they aren't technically capable. I did several years worth of research projects with the company which designed most of the soviet ICBMs. They were real rocket scientists and are perfectly capable of the highest level of tech development of rockets, given the necessary time. And I can verify from communications with several of them that they are extremely angry at the Russians. Probably have been working hard to develop weapons as rapidly as possible since the invasion.

Igor drank too much vodka on guard duty and decided to smoke in the 'no smoking' in the ammo dump area. From what I have witnessed in the Ukraine conflict the conscripts aren't very militarily very bright along with their leaders. Maybe some Russian sabators involved who dislike the mess Putin got them into. Oh well!

It strains credulity, but given Old Joe Biden’s deteriorating mental state, it doesn’t really strain credulity all that much: the Biden White House insists that it only found out about the twilight-of-the-republic raid on Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home when the establishment media did, and not a moment before. So if the alleged president didn’t order this banana-republic raid, who did? On Thursday, Biden’s hyper-partisan Attorney General Merrick Garland, who has done so much to turn the Justice Department and the FBI into weapons of partisan politics, admitted that it was he who “personally approved” the raid, and as he surveys what he hath wrought,

The trail of corruption and abuse stretches the length of the Great Wall of China by this point. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is out of control. Has the Russian collusion hoax not exposed how far agents and employees at the Department of Justice will go to undermine a duly elected president? There was election interference in 2016 and 2020, but the source was domestic, not foreign. It wasn’t the Russians but those working in the J. Edgar Hoover Building. Trump being smeared as a Kremlin agent was the first salvo, but in 2020, the Hunter Biden laptop came out in October of that year—threatening Joe Biden’s election chances.

One might now ask what kind of a “stand” was Griner wanting to take? More importantly, what kind of “stand” should we take regarding a pro athlete who enjoyed her oppression in America so much that she became fabulously wealthy and had the freedom to marry a female spouse — something that she might be arrested for in Russia?

On Thursday, FBI Director Christopher Wray cut short his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee to fly the FBI's private jet to his family's vacation home. At the hearing, Wray had admitted that disciplinary action against FBI personnel involved in Russiagate abuses had been "slowed down" and refused to call Russiagate a “hoax”. On Monday, President Trump revealed that Mar-a-Lago had been raided by "a large group of FBI agents". Any warrant for such a raid would have been signed off on by Attorney General Merrick Garland and his associates in the Biden administration which expects to face the former president in the next election. What are we to make of 30 or so FBI agents raiding President Trump’s Florida home to collect maybe 35 boxes of records for what is perhaps the Deep State’s 7th or 8th impeachment attempt? First, why no raids on the Democrats who took the jet to Epstein’s pedophile island with its readily available sex with underage girls? Why no raids on Hunter Biden and the apparent crimes documented on the laptop? Why no raids on Hilary Clinton after she destroyed evidence? The good news, and I think it is great news, is that at least a third of the country no longer believes they can expect justice

When the FBI raided Donald Trump’s home on Monday, a key aspect of what made the United States of America great and free has been lost, and likely cannot be recovered. John Adams and Thomas Jefferson detested one another for years before their eventual reconciliation, but neither one used the agencies of the U.S. government to hound, persecute or discredit the other. Other bitter political opponents throughout the history of the republic have never before used the government’s own mechanisms of justice to do injustice to their foes. Joe Biden, Merrick Garland and their henchmen have brought America to a new phase of its history, and it is not likely

One thing we must give Democrats credit for is their unity. Yes, certain members of the party such as Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) will occasionally diverge from the party line and oppose particularly radical pieces of legislation, but when it comes to big moments and key votes – on impeachment, for instance – Democrats circle the wagons. Contrarily, Republicans tend to fracture at the most inopportune moments, which is why it was refreshing to see virtual unanimity amongst the GOP after Monday’s outrageous raid on former President Donald Trump’s residence Mar-a-Lago. Almost all notable Republicans supported Trump after the ordeal; all except for one.

A major breakthrough in nuclear fusion has been confirmed a year after it was achieved at a laboratory in California. Researchers at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory's (LLNL's) National Ignition Facility (NIF) recorded the first case of ignition on August 8, 2021, the results of which have now been published in three peer-reviewed papers. (snip) If we could harness this reaction to generate electricity, it would be one of the most efficient and least polluting sources of energy possible. No fossil fuels would be required as the only fuel would be hydrogen, and the only by-product would be helium, which we use in industry and are actually in short supply of.

It is helpful to think of political developments as moves on the chessboard made to advance an objective. In chess, the objective is to win the game, chess being zero-sum. Politics is like that, too, though participants often claim it's not, that they're acting for the greater good, principles at the foundation of democracy, motherhood and apple pie and all that — which is true in some cases but never if Democrats are in the game. This brings me to Attorney General Garland's claim that the Mar-a-Lago home invasion wasn't a raid at all.

The Justice Department revealed earlier on Friday that Trump’s lawyers would not object to the documents’ release.
