Papa John's founder and ex-chairman John Schnatter had strong words for his former company, claiming that they have abandoned the "principles" he followed when he ran it, and that they have suffered as a result.
In an interview with the Right Side Broadcasting Network at CPAC in Dallas, Texas, last week, Schnatter said he "built the whole company on conservative values" that have since been ignored.
"I think they've really lost their way," Schnatter said. "It used to be an operational-driven company. Now it’s a lawyer, PR-driven company. They don’t run their company on principles and values."
Schnatter went on to claim that the pizza company's performance

Due to my girth I only have pizza once a month or so. In choosing which one I'm motivated by taste and not politics. PJ is somewhere in the middle. Food delivery really took off during the pandemic. Pizza is not my first choice.

If true, these pukes will destroy the company soon enough. Happens all the time, a good company is taken over by leftists, idiots and other incompetents and is quickly destroyed.

The quality of their pizza declined substantially. And you no longer place your order with the manager of the store from which you are ordering. Meanwhile the price zoomed upward. We’ve given PJ’s up.

Papa Johns used to be the best pizza we had access to. Now their focus is on changing the logo and remodeling their stores!
What insanity is this!

John Schlatter was all about quality. Quality ingredients. CONSISTENTLY well-made pizzas. The ingredients may not have changed, but the slapdash consistency of preparation and baking is dreadful.
These newbys always do a Biden and try to throw out any possible relationship to the owner/founder. They focus on rebranding and cosmetic things that don’t matter a whit to the customers. They are very limited thinkers. They often as not kill companies.

We cancelled Papa John’s when Papa John’s cancelled John Schnatter. Quality went WAY down after he was forced out.

I am sitting here, in tears that drop faster every time I read….”Papa John’s is the best pizza we had available to us”
Dear Lord in Heaven, you people have suffered enough. Say what you will about Jersey-and I say a LOT- we got great pizza. Every single independent pizza shop is only about a skillionbillionmillion times better than any PJ pizza, ever made or to be made.
Gah, Elio’s frozen is better.

American Pizza was developed in the Midwest, the coasts did a great job of making them their own.
PapaJohns was an excellent chain pizza. You used to be able to count on it. I, like #6, noticed a decline right after the boss was ushered out. My theory was the accountants took over. You can say the ingredients didn't change, but I have my doubts. The sauce was sweeter, the crust doughier, and the topping thinner. I recall forgetting extra cheese once.. What cheese?
ANyway, with the shops having trouble getting help and some owners are not hands on, quality dropped. Then the deals that kept us coming back disappeared.
Currently, in my boonies location, the PJ owner is doing a great job of working with what he has. Pizza Hut is Owned by LaRaza of Texas, so I don't even go there, and Dominos isn't out here in the sticks.
Local maker...sad..but I swear one of them buys frozen Jack's Pizza at Kroger.
On THAT subject if you like thin pizza, Red Baron is pretty decent. ;)
Pizza, or any store bought food is a treat for us. Wednesday used to be pizza day.

I'm not a big fan of pizza to start with, and dont care for Papa John's. The sauce was just too acidy. But I dont typically look at a company's politics when deciding where to go, unless they were it on their sleeves. (Like Dick's Sporting Goods).

Attended a group function "Pizza Party" in which the so called pizza was in PJ's boxes. The food was awful. Even worse than Domino's which is no great shakes. Stuff your liberal and conservative values and learn to cook.
