Timothy Snyder, Levin Professor of History at Yale, describes what he sees as the Kremlin’s plan to drive the Third World poor into Western countries to break European support for Ukraine. “Russia has a hunger plan. Vladimir Putin is preparing to starve much of the developing world as the next stage in his war in Europe. In normal times, Ukraine is a leading exporter of foodstuffs. A Russian naval blockade now prevents Ukraine from exporting grain. If the Russian blockade continues, tens of millions of tons of food will rot in silos, and tens of millions of

How much of the rest of the world turns its eyes toward the U.S., only to see the decrepit Joe Biden, falling off his stopped bicycle, or dropping his note cards while being spoon fed pudding. Sorry World - we're not in a position to save you anymore. Stop asking.

The Ukrainians cannot reach the Kerch bridge. The Kerch bridge is the main supply route into The Crimea and then to southern Ukraine. But they can reach the trains, the grain silos in Crimea and the grain ships moving stolen Ukrainian out. The grain ships may look like grain ships, but in reality they are Russian bullet ships, Russian tank ships, Russian rocket ships. The Hunger Weapon never knows who it is aimed at. Russian thinks it is pointed at the West. But, it can destroy Russia just as easily...

Just looked up the top ten food exporters in the world. They are (as of 2018): 1. USA. 2. Netherlands 3. Germany 4. Brazil 5. France 6. China 7. Spain 8. Canada 9. Belgium 10. Italy Anyone notice who is missing? No mention of Ukraine or Russia. Also, Germany is supposed to be hit hard yet they are a leading food exporter. Not sure I would trust anything being said about this.

What happens to leaders that ignore the hunger of the people was on full display in Sri Lanka this week, where the leader was forced to run for an airplane with hastily packed bags, and leave the country, then resign to keep his life.

Even pappy poopy pants has said there will be a food shortage. None of the regime is talking about it. Nor the media. I guess it’s easier to loot the treasury when such things are thrust upon the public and our representatives without apparent notice so there’s no time to think from one crisis to the next. Just vote and send the money. How annoying it must be to them to have to go through even the shallowest process to get their hands on the money.

As the Hunter Biden story continues to explode in scandal and scope, it’s becoming impossible to hide. Even if Fake News and Big Tech keep up their efforts to suppress it, it’s so vast and egregious that it’s going to erupt into a campaign issue in the fall — and Democrats can’t have that. I previously predicted that party handlers would keep Biden in place until after the midterm elections, then use him as a sop for all the Democrat’s failure vibes before jettisoning him ahead of the 2024 election season. But now, I don’t think they can wait that long: Hunter’s laptop and iPhone disaster is ballooning out of control.
The Culture War Between the States 8 replies

For decades, states have competed with one another for businesses by touting local economic advantages in areas like taxation, development incentives, workforce quality, and regulatory policy. Occasionally, states would also pitch themselves to firms on more general principles like quality of life and public investment in schools and infrastructure. Now the battle for jobs and for wealthier residents has taken a new turn, reflecting the increasingly intense cultural wars playing out in America. Facing a steadily more difficult economic battlefield, governors of Democratic-led states are pitching businesses based on social issues: access to abortion, transgender rights, and voting laws.

The Left has a rather schizophrenic attitude toward protests and demonstrations. Some are wonderful, like the George Floyd riots, which were not, in fact, protests at all. Or like arson and other destruction committed at pro-life facilities. Others are detestable, like the Dutch farmers’ protests, or the French “yellow vests,” or the Canadian truckers. Some protests, too, can only be ignored, like when hundreds of thousands of pro-life citizens show up for their annual march in Washington. Currently the Left is “demonstrating” against the Supreme Court justices who concurred in the Dobbs decision. A few nights ago, as Scott has noted, left-wingers harassed Justice Brett

According to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his chief accountant Chrystia Freeland, runaway inflation and the recession it announces are something of a godsend. Price increases, she said in a recent address, are “a reminder of why climate action is so important, and why we have to work…faster towards a green economy.” The benefits, according to this authority, are clear: More green energy, lower prices. The claim is so fatuous as to induce intellectual migraine. Over the last few hours, I have been reviewing our last week’s expenditures and current financial status, and I find the red column expanding faster than Freeland’s race to Green:

The New York Post headline reads “Biden’s approval rating craters to 30% after brutal week.” Reading the same poll, RedState’s Nick Arama comments perceptively on the numbers in “Prepare for the Biden Tantrum.” What more is to be said? The reported poll is one of registered voters. If it were filtered to reflect likely voters, I have to think the results would be slightly worse. On that point, we shall see. I think that every time Biden makes a public appearance he loses ground. He is visibly infirm. He sounds stupid. How many times can he say “Not a joke” without someone giving him the hook. It’s a joke!

During Prohibition, Al Capone’s Chicago gang made the Thompson submachine gun a symbol of gang violence. The “Chicago Typewriter” could empty a hundred-round drum magazine in under ten seconds, and make headlines, while occasionally perforating both targets and bystanders. Congress saw an opportunity to “do something,” and “wasn’t willing to let a ‘crisis’ go to waste.” The ultimate result is the National Firearms Act of 1934 (“NFA”), which was later amended by the Gun Control Act of 1968 (“GCA”). The net result is that certain firearms and firearm-related items have seriously disfavored status, completely unrelated to anything having to do with crime or Constitution. The NFA states that for

If you dare to speak out against transgender ideology, you’ll likely find yourself censored from social media and ostracized by your woke friends. The far left has highly politicized the issue of transgenderism, using its influence in pop culture and government to brainwash the public, particularly children, and force them into compliance with bully tactics. So when someone on the left dares to speak out, it’s noteworthy. Why? Because they know the risks of doing so and have decided the truth is more important. As such, I applaud Grammy-winning singer Macy Gray for having the courage to speak the truth during her recent interview with Piers Morgan.

Recently, in the wake of the Roe v. A woman is not the helpless victim of ostensive patriarchal domination but a free and responsible agent who can determine her own actions rather than malinger as a servile casualty of male oppression. To think otherwise is merely demeaning, a way of infantilizing and

There was a time when the idea of someone with a room temperature IQ running for president of the United States was laughable, the plot of some awful movie. Since Joe Biden, all bets are off. For Democrats, having an IQ larger than your waistline is an obstacle, making it difficult to advocate for policies that have failed everywhere they've been tried with a straight face. Luckily for them, there aren't many Democrats who have a double-digit IQ, so it's not much of an issue, and their Queen is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

This puts the US ahead of China, currently the world’s leading emitter, Russian, India and Brazil as the next largest contributors to global

The Brittney Griner story has been one which tears at us from two sides. When we hear about an American being detained in a foreign country for offenses which are considered minor here in the U.S., we often become sympathetic, depending on the infraction, of course. And when we learn that the country holding that prisoner is an archrival or enemy such as China, Iran, North Korea, or Russia, our sympathies become that much stronger. In the case of Brittney Griner, however, things aren’t that simple. Griner, who has been detained in a Russian prison since her arrest at a Moscow airport for possession of cannabis oil

During a cold snap in the winter of 2021, however, wind turbines froze and many Texans found themselves without electricity. Now that scenario is likely to repeat itself, albeit due to high temperatures that are accompanied by calm conditions.

One in five Americans surveyed said the Bible is the "actual word of God, to be taken literally," about half off from the high point in 1984. The survey also shows that as fewer Americans are ranking religion as "very important," the number of those who believe the Bible came directly from God decreases.
