Do you remember President Trump’s inspiring July 4th speech at Mount Rushmore in 2020?
Maybe you remember it but not the details.
This year, rewatching the speech is a great way to observe Independence Day.
Here’s a partial transcript from the White House:
We gather tonight to herald the most important day in the history of nations: July 4th, 1776. At those words, every American heart should swell with pride. Every American family should cheer with delight. And every American patriot should be filled with joy, because each of you lives in the most magnificent country in the history of the world,

That was a great weekend and set up the president for an outstanding following week campaigning, Which he promptly destroyed with an absolutely unnecessary Tweet about NASCAR.

I recall him taking a lap in the beast at a NASCAR race to a rousing standing ovation. I also will never forget the aerial view of Air Force One as it approached the Black Hills on the way to his historic speech at Mt Rushmore! Way to go Mr President!

"In our schools, our newsrooms, even our corporate boardrooms, there is a new far-left fascism that demands absolute allegiance. If you do not speak its language, perform its rituals, recite its mantras, and follow its commandments, then you will be censored, banished, blacklisted, persecuted, and punished. It’s not going to happen to us.
Make no mistake: this left-wing cultural revolution is designed to overthrow the American Revolution."

Not since President Ronald Reagan have we felt such inspiration for patriotism from our president. President Trump makes us love our Country, our Flag, our Traditions again. We miss you President Trump, and we pray for your return.

What Trump has needed all along is a “Tweet Editor” to review and shutdown spur of the moment Trump authored tweets that really serve no useful purpose, and that are certain to be misstated and used as anti-Trump political propaganda by the Democrats and their media propagandists and supporters.

#9 is right. (Excuse second entry.) From 7/8/2020 after a rousing July 4th speech, Trump tweeted: "Has @BubbaWallace apologized to all of those great NASCAR drivers & officials who came to his aid, stood by his side, & were willing to sacrifice everything for him, only to find out that the whole thing was just another HOAX? That & Flag decision has caused lowest ratings EVER!"
This allowed the press, predictably, to change the subject from the great Mount Rushmore event.

This was only a couple of years ago. And note....no masks in sight. Great speech in a wonderful location by the best President of my lifetime. And now we suffer under the worst President ever.
My wife and I flew our small Cessna from KC up to Rapid City, SD on July 4th about 30 years ago. Flying across a big chunk of this beautiful country in a small aircraft is, by itself, a magnificent thing. The country unfolding below you is beautiful from the air. It took about four and a half hours, with one fuel stop in the little plane I had at that time. We left early, were there not long after noon.
We rented a car in Rapid City and drove out to Mount Rushmore, a short drive. The United States Marine Corps Band was there playing patriotic music and local politicians gave some excellent patriotic speeches. And all the time, the sky was a cloudless deep blue, and we could look up at the Presidents on the mountain behind the band and patriotic politicians.
It was a glorious day.
And, at that time, the visitor's center inside looked exactly like it did in the movie North by Northwest, which was a fun little treat, too. They've probably knocked it down and replaced it by now.
