America Is in Denial

Original Article

Even as we watch the reservoirs and lakes of the West go dry, we keep watering our lawns, soaking our golf courses, and growing water-thirsty crops. (snip) As the ice caps melt and record temperatures make the evening news, we figure that buying a Prius and recycling the boxes from our daily Amazon deliveries will suffice. (Snip) And when a renowned conservative former federal appellate judge testifies that we are already in a war for our democracy and that January 6, 2021, was a genuine constitutional crisis, MAGA loyalists snicker that he speaks slowly and celebrate that most people weren’t watching.

Drop dead. Yes, too many people have moved to the western deserts and the morons in charge have failed to seek out new water supplies, and they waste huge gouts on some useless minnows. The climate will do what it will do, and NOTHING that we do will change it's trajectory one iota. WE are causing nothing. We are passengers on this rock, and whatever happens we have to react to, and not pretend that tossing a few virgins into the volcano will appease the angry climate gods. Romney is a dangerous person, needs to be FAR away from any power.

Hard for me to believe I voted for this guy. I don't drive a Prius or an EV. I never recycle. And I love Climate Change. If it were for Climate Change I'd have to open the front door of my house ever morning and yell at the Wooly Mammoths to get off my lawn. I have a snow shovel in my garage with spider webs on it. Hope I never have to use it again. Gimme all the Climate Change you've got. I am in Denial. Quid Pro Joe is not POTUS. But I adore Mittens and all other Mormons for holding down the cost of coffee. 2012 was one of those years when I did not "hold my nose and vote Republican," and I've not regretted it once. Mitt Romney, FTA: "President Joe Biden is a genuinely good man, but he has yet been unable to break through our national malady of denial, deceit, and distrust. A return of Donald Trump would feed the sickness, probably rendering it incurable."

Many problems can be solved with multiple actions. For instance, desalination plants would give California access to more drinkable water than they could ever use. But the Democrats would rather use droughts and water scarcity as a political weapon to fund Global Warming schemes. When someone can dislodge those gaining power from such problems we'll be well on our way to solving them.

I can understand a misguided sense of so-called “virtuous” activism deriving from resentments whipped up by immoral people. I can understand stupidity and credulousness, however unpalatable.

If Democrats could pull off an upset in Utah, it would have profound consequences for the control of the Senate — and the rest of the country. Republican senators are growing concerned by colleague Mitt Romney’s refusal to help fellow Utah Republican Mike Lee decisively win his re-election campaign — a posture that could potentially keep their party from gaining a majority in the November elections. Unlike every other Republican senator, the 2012 failed Republican presidential candidate is declining to express a preference in Republican Lee’s re-election effort against Democrat-endorsed Evan McMullin.

The family of a 17-year-old who died over the summer says she passed away from sudden heart problems. Rep. Sean Casten (D-Ill.) and his wife said in a statement that Gwen Casten died in June of a sudden cardiac arrhythmia. “In layman’s terms, she was fine, and then her heart stopped,” the grieving parents said. “We don’t know what caused the arrhythmia, and likely never will.” According to the National Liberty of medicine, arrhythmia is an irregular heartbeat. It can refer to a heart that is beating too quickly, too slowly, or with an otherwise irregular pattern.

PayPal on Oct. 8 sent out an update to its terms of use, or acceptable use policy (AUP). It included a shocking addition. It reserved the right to confiscate $2,500 from people’s accounts if they spread “misinformation.” It was a clear announcement of what many already suspected: PayPal has enlisted in the information war. This comes weeks after PayPal blocked several important accounts in the UK, including Toby Young’s personal account, the Free Speech Union, and the DailySceptic. These are hugely important venues for the English-speaking world in countering the COVID propaganda narrative. It was no accident that they were targeted. After global protests and news coverage from alternative sources, PayPal relented

When the nuclear war comes – and let’s face it, it seems more likely with each passing day – our masters won’t be burned to ashes in the cities alongside the rest of us. Instead, they’ll be underground in a purpose-built nuclear bunker, where they’ll wait out the cleansing fire of the nuclear warheads and re-emerge to rule the planet. The head of doomsday bunker company – which has a sprawling bunker community in Dakota – claims that ‘bread crumbs’ hint at where a huge bunker complex is located.

The Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) has paused all gender transition surgeries for minors following an explosive report about their pediatric gender services and a letter from state legislators demanding the practices stop, according to a letter from VUMC. “We are pausing gender affirmation surgeries on patients under age 18 while we complete this review, which may take several months. In addition, we understand this issue is likely to be taken up by the General Assembly in its next legislative session.

Joe Biden on Tuesday delivered virtual remarks at the Summit on Fire Prevention and Control from his fake White House set in the South Court Auditorium. Biden once again falsely claimed a lightning strike previously destroyed his home. “I was doing Meet the Press and lightning struck a little pond behind my house, it came up through the ground into the air conditioning system…everything was ruined,” Biden said. This is one of Joe Biden’s favorite lies.

With the November election just weeks away, Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams is dealing with an unusual political problem. She has become a star on the national political stage. But in her own state -- where she has proved in recent presidential and Senate contests that she can get out the vote for Democratic candidates -- she is struggling to gain momentum for her rematch with Republican Governor Brian Kemp. One problem is tepid enthusiasm among a key segment of the Democratic base: Black men. One-third of Black men registered in Georgia haven’t voted in the past several elections, with pollsters

Democrat Rep. Tim Ryan doubled down on his comments from earlier in the year calling to “kill and confront” MAGA while specifically targeting J.D. Vance in his rhetoric during the debate on Monday night. In the heated debate between Ryan and his Republican opponent for Ohio’s open U.S. Senate seat, Ryan was confronted and asked to explain his comments earlier in the year when he told MSNBC’s Morning Joe that the “exhausted majority” needed to “kill and confront” the extremist Republican movement. Now, Ryan, during the debate — doubling down on his comments — included Vance in the group of people he labels as “extremists.”

President Joe Biden said Tuesday on “CNN Tonight” that he will pass the assault weapon ban again before he leaves office. Anchor Jake Tapper said, “Democratic voters approve of the job you’re doing. Democratic voters overwhelmingly like you. But one poll shows that almost two-thirds of Democratic voters want a new nominee in 2024, and the top reason they gave was your age. So what’s your message to Democrats who like you, who like what you’ve done but are concerned about your age and the demands of the job?” Biden said, “They’re concerned whether or not I can get anything done. Name me a president in recent history
