An alleged intruder is in critical condition after being shot by a 93-year-old Moreno Valley, California, homeowner early Wednesday morning. FOX 11 notes that the incident occurred “in the 24300 block of Eucalyptus Avenue.” ABC 7 reports that Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the home to find the alleged intruder shot. He was transported to a hospital. Oscar Malma’s wife is related to the 93-year-old homeowner, and Malma told ABC 7 that the homeowner’s property has been the targeted by burglars/intruders numerous times. Malma said of the homeowner, “He was tired because every time he calls the police, (they took) forever to come and assist him. He took the law into his own hands…

Well done, but it appears that the intruder will be able to do future crimes. That's a disadvantage. But, we "shoot to stop" in a purely legal sense, and once the threat is gone, we are legally and morally obligated to stop shooting. So, make those shots count.

The Homeowner was the true first responder and he acted appropriately. LEOs cannot protect they can only react. Unfortunately, Government agencies sell the opposite because of the tons of $$$ involved. Arm yourself. Get training. You are the first responder in a home emergency. Protect yourself and your loved ones. You'll thank yourself if you do.

Advice to all victims of intruders, do not give them the chance to kill you by waiting for the police to arrive. Shoot first and wait for the cops to do the paperwork, if they are still permitted to do that much.

I just purchased a new, cleverly designed holster. It can be won as a waist level holster or a shoulder holster, and all points in between. And best of all, it will take any caliber pistol or revolver. And it looks like a cummerbund. I'm old, but not unarmed.

Re#7: EXACTLY! You beat me to it. Not only did the homeowner exercise his Constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms, but his GOD-GIVEN, natural right to defend his own life and property. Re Original Poster: No, his aim was not "excellent". The gremlin yet lives. Unacceptable. Two in the chest, one in the head. Ferals should be put down with extreme prejudice. #16, Texas does have a few cases. About 12 years ago, there was a serial rapist who broke into the homes of several old widow ladies, assaulted them and stole from them. One had a gun that had not been used in many years and she could not get it to fire, but she was determined enough to do so that it scared off the guy before he raped her. Rapist was finally caught in a small town when a victim used her Life Alert button and a cop happened to be almost in front of her house. The rapist would watch single ladies leaving rural churches on Sunday mornings and follow them home. I convinced several older women to get a firearm for protection. Shotgun, usually.

If an adult pulled up to a public playground in a white van and started engaging random children in conversations about sexual behaviors or asking them about their gender identity, it would be a matter for law enforcement, right? Imagine if that same creepy adult assured the children that their secrets about their inner, nascent sexual feelings would be kept secret "just between them," and he assured the children that their parents would never know about their special conversations. This would escalate the already troubling situation, wouldn't it? What if this adult also encouraged the children to use the potty together?

Gov. Ron DeSantis' "Parental Rights in Education" law will officially take effect on Friday, sparking backlash from the liberal left. Dubbed by critics as the "Don't Say Gay" law, several Florida schools have already issued new policies that ban any kind of inappropriate sexual talk in the classroom. The Biden administration made a statement expressing how distraught it is over the law going into place. Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed that Florida's students are now "more fearful and less free," calling it "shameful" that schools are not allowed to teach minors about explicit sex and groom them to think they are a different gender from how they were born.

When Republicans retake the majority this fall, some Washington Republicans will no doubt insist we forget the damage done to our country over the last two years and move on. That would be unacceptable. As Missouri’s next U.S. Senator, I’ll take the same fighting spirit I’ve had as attorney general and be a disrupter, a Trump Republican willing to take on the tough fights and hold the Democrats accountable. Instead of focusing on real scandals and government malpractice, the Democrat-controlled Congress, their Leftist allies and their enablers in the mainstream media would rather hold joke hearings about January 6 to cover up Joe Biden’s failings.

If Democrats were hoping for a game-changing bump following the overturning of Roe v. Wade, they’ve been disappointed by the last several polls. As RedState reported, Republicans continue to enjoy a modest lead in the generic ballot, and Joe Biden’s numbers show zero sign of rebounding. Given the historical connection between a president’s approval and the first mid-term, that’s nothing but bad news if you are on the left. Biden’s unpopularity has descended so far into the depths that 71 percent now don’t want him to run for re-election. I can’t be certain, but I’d strongly suspect that’s the lowest number ever for a first-term president in just his second year.

An unruly Illinois man recently found himself in a knot of his own making. According to WFLD, last Thursday, 30-year-old Christoper Cruz was having an uninhibited day. He visited a local 7-Eleven and stole some merchandise. When Christopher returned to the store that evening, a 19-year-old worker ordered him to leave. Christopher didn’t appreciate the directive, so he allegedly (apply that word to this entire story) punched the employee. But before he did that, he did this: Amid harassing people in the parking lot, Christopher encountered Idriz Redzovic. Idriz had come to buy his six children slushies. Christopher offered a menacing “What are you looking at?” Then Christopher assaulted the attendant, and Idriz intervened.

Modern progressives assume moral and intellectual authority. Consequently, their supposedly superior ends naturally justify almost any means necessary to achieve them. Among the elite, the Democrats’ “blue-wall” states were once considered a testament to the wisdom of the Electoral College. When that wall crumbled in 2016 to Donald Trump, the Electoral College suddenly was blasted as a relic of our anti-democratic founders. The nine-person Supreme Court was once beloved. On issues like abortion, school prayer, same-sex marriage, pornography, and Miranda rights, the Left cheered the Court as it made the law and ignored legislatures and presidents. The U.S. economy shrank worse than expected in the first quarter, stoking fears that we are headed for recession, if not already in one. In fact, most Americans already believe we are in a recession. However, as CNN’s Nicole Goodkind notes, “the economy isn’t broadly and officially considered to be in a recession until a relatively unknown group of eight economists says so.” Goodkind then attempts to make this all sound sinister—like it’s a bunch of James Bond villains hiding in a secret lair plotting world domination

The Supreme Court on Thursday handed down a 6-3 decision in West Virginia v. EPA that denied the EPA's authority to enact sweeping regulations for greenhouse gases that would "decarbonize" American energy under the Clean Air Act. In a blow to Democrats and climate alarmists, the opinion said the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and its unelected bureaucrats could not use portions of the Clean Air Act to make rules limiting how the United States generates electricity and uses energy — such as ending the use of coal-fired power generation. President Biden vacationed in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware over the Juneteenth holiday weekend. Gas there is $4.94 per gallon, so we shouldn’t really have been surprised when the president took an unfortunate tumble off of a bike. The fall perfectly characterizes the state of American gas and oil prices since the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. The Monday after the fall, President Biden announced two potential solutions to remedy the sky-high gas prices: a tax holiday and a gas rebate card. Neither is a serious proposal, and Biden knows it. He and his administration should leave gas price relief to the states. Theoretically speaking, gas tax holidays would work.
