WASHINGTON — The U.S. Supreme Court has overturned the monumental Roe v. Wade case that legalized abortion across the America.
The 6-3 decision on Friday followed the early May leak of a draft opinion indicating which way the justices would rule. That leak prompted protesting across the nation, particularly in Washington, D.C. as well as dozens of attacks and vandalism of pro-life organizations, centers, and churches.
Overturning of the landmark 1973 case came in the decision on Dobbs v.s. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a challenge to a Mississippi law greatly restricting the federal right to abortion

A sound decision but I question the timing of its release on a Friday - there'll be non-stop rioting this weekend...cities will burn. Mostly peacefully, of course...

It's a different time from 1973 when the Court invented the abortion right out of penumbras and emanations and other made up stuff that the Constitution doesn't really say.
-A plethora of birth control options now exist.
- Medical technology advances prove that babies become babies a lot earlier than abortion providers want you to know.
-Rape and incest are a teeny tiny proportion of the 60 million abortions that occurred over the last 50 years.
- Abortion proponents kept pushing the envelope to get late term abortions and abortions for kids without their parents knowledge or consent.

Read the list of those who were in the majority opinion - Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, Barrett.
You can thank Donald Trump for this decision. As flawed a man as he was, millions of lives will likely be saved as a direct result of his actions.

Babies do not become babies any earlier today than they did 5000 years ago. You're giving medical science way way way too much credit.
Life begins at conception. That is when a unique set of DNA is first created that defines the physical attributes of the child. That is the explicit point in time at which something happens. Prior to that - nothing. After that - everything. All of the debates over viability are just obfuscations of the fact that there is only ONE instant at which something happens that is a distinct and solid line that divides one state from another. That is the creation of the first strand of unique DNA that happens at the moment of conception.

It's been a particularly wonderful Supreme Court session. The Constitution has been restored over a wide range of subjects, and the leftists and destroyers of the country are in anguish, and reeling from the impact of the reality of our old and wonderful Constitution, being read as the words are actually WRITTEN and intended, not as the execrable "living document" which the leftists have been using as an excuse for inventing things that aren't there, and ignoring the things that obviously and clearly ARE there.
A great week! Leftist tears running in the streets ankle deep.

Immediate fear is that GOP In several states will seek to ban abortions, giving Democrats opportunity to use this issue to stop expected “red wave” in November and in 2024. If 14 Senate RINOs can join Biden and Dems in the latest attack on guns and 2nd Amendment, state legislatures will be just as foolish on their abortion restrictions / prohibitions.
Next concern is that we may soon have a shortage of birth control devices in order to put political pressure on Repubs while making Dems “fighters for women”. If baby formula can disappear, why can’t birth control pills, IUDs and the morning after pill? Things are about to get very nasty in order to avoid talking about Biden’s failures.

Oh dear, my lefty sister is probably screaming about now…and ironically, she was given up for adoption in 1967 but had it been post Roe v. Wade, she probably would never have been born. She’s going to need more of her psych drugs.

May this decision be the first of many dominoes to fall.
The 10th Amendment should be taken seriously.
People go to the federal government looking for affirmations for their causes. It's easier to go to DC than each of the 50 states.
It's time for the federal politicians and agencies to say 'NO' and refer the people to the individual states.

The Supreme Court upheld Mississippi law of banning abortion after 15 weeks (about four months of pregnancy) - so that’s not abolishing abortion, at least in Mississippi. So all these paid Soros acolytes are screaming over nothing. They need to get educated and go back to their states. And why in the world would anyone wait more than 15 weeks for an abortion unless it’s endangering a life? Virginia’s law of up to and including after birth is inhumane to “mother,” not to mention the child.

At the risk of having hot coals heaped upon my head, it's worth recognizing that McConnell shares a bit of the thanks that deservedly go to Trump on this because he blocked Merrick Garland from succeeding Scalia.
A 5-4 would still have been a defeat for Roe, but 6-3 is mo' betta.

that's not the only responsibility that should go back to the states: education is a glaring example of the interference of the federal government in local education; road construction and road maintenance should also become the responsibility of the states; local and state taxes are the direct responsibility of the states who have given away most taxation authority to the federal government and more facets of governing that have either been voluntarily or mandatorily taken from the states mainly by demcommie congresses at the house and senate levels - the demcommies have made a sham of the whole political and legal processes in our country and have benefited greatly in doing so both monetarily and influentially

All this does is return the authority to regulate to the states. It does not create a universal ban, and won't. The GOP now either puts up or shuts up. I bet the number "banning" abortions will be few and far between...likely none. And then what will "conservatives" do?

I agree #19. Many is the time that I have posted here "I am no fan of McConnell, have many reasons to despise the man, but he has been stalwart and good on getting conservative justices into the court systems."
Credit where credit is due.
THEN replace McConnell. He almost certainly will not run again, time is finally defeating him.

It should always have been a state issue just like gay marriage should have been kept a state issue. And the same social misfits are upset about abortion even though many states will still keep abortion and the planned parenthood chop shops open...
