Rep. Al Green is leading an effort to make 2022 the first year that would mark the anniversary of the first slave ships arriving in North America 400 years ago. The Texas Democrat, who introduced a resolution last November, is hoping to renew the push as the country celebrates Juneteenth on Sunday, and the federal holiday on Monday.
“Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom. Slavery Remembrance is a commemoration of slavery itself and it will help us to make sure that we don’t see it sanitized. We want to tell the truth about it,” Mr. Green told The Washington Times.(Snip)The joint resolution was also introduced by Sen. Elizabeth Warren

Harvard Law professor emeritus Laurence Tribe said Thursday on CNN’s “Erin Burnett OutFront” that former President Donald Trump attempted to murder Vice President Mike Pence on January 6, 2021.
Burnett asked, “From everything you have seen so far, including the hearing today that focused so much on Trump causing violence against Pence, do you believe the committee has proven that Trump himself knowingly committed crimes?”
Tribe said, “Without any doubt, beyond a reasonable doubt, beyond any doubt, and the crimes are obvious. The most obvious was that he was ordering his vice-president to do

Twice-failed presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton on Friday said Trump supporters are a “clear and present danger to American democracy.”
Clinton responded to a judge who lashed out at Trump supporters during Thursday’s January 6 show trial.
“Donald Trump and his allies and supporters are a clear and present danger to American democracy,” former circuit judge (George H. W. Bush appointee) Michael Luttig said to the J-6 panel.

Bill and Hillary Clinton both suggested that American democracy is teetering on the edge of existence in a pair of separate interviews this week.
The pair both said the government as we know it is at risk after the third January 6 committee hearing and a new poll saying a majority of both Democrats and Republicans believe America will 'cease to exist' as a democracy.
Former president Bill told CBS's The Late Late Show host James Corden on Wednesday night that he fears the United States could 'completely lose our constitutional democracy'.
Hillary painted a similarly bleak picture in an interview with the Financial Times in an interview

It’s no secret to anybody paying attention that Joe Biden has an unwholesome obsession with little children, especially little girls. He can’t seem to keep his eyes, his hands, or his nose off them. The Daily Mail has also released text from a diary kept by Ashley Biden, Joe’s drug-addicted, sex-addicted daughter, mentioning inappropriate showers with her father at a young age that may have led to her unhealthy sexual obsessions. Tucker Carlson, upon learning of this, launched an incendiary attack against Biden, the system that’s long protected him from closer scrutiny, and the DOJ and FBI harassing journalists for investigating the story.

Kamala Harris on Friday insulted millions of Christians when she told reporters that there’s nothing about the issue of abortion that would require anyone to abandon their faith.
The majority of Christians believe life begins at conception which is why pro-life groups work so hard to protect the life of the unborn.
Godless leftists like Kamala Harris don’t care about the life of the unborn.
‘There’s nothing about this issue that would require anyone to abandon their faith … It’s simply saying that the government should not have the ability to decide what an individual does with her own body,’

Joe Biden, as his party propaganda and media enablers say, is a man of compassion.
And he's now loaded with such compassion with remarks like this, addressing his own unpopularity with the American people. (Snip for tweet) Heres what he actually told the Associated Press in his interview with them:
AP: What’s that paradox? BIDEN: Well, I think the paradox is, part of it is, I think what, the failure of the last administration to act on COVID had a profound impact on the number of people who got COVID and the number of people who died. Now here’s what I’m, I think Vivek Murthy is right and most of the international

A Catholic private school in Massachusetts has been excommunicated by a local bishop after ignoring orders to remove pride and BLM flags.
The Nativity School of Worcester has been sanctioned by Robert J. McManus, the Bishop of the Diocese of Worcester, for their refusal to take them down.
He says the facility - the only tuition-free private school in the region - cannot continue to call itself Catholic while flying in the face of key church teachings.
The school, run by Principal Emily Kent is the only tuition-free private middle school in the region and serves about 60 students.

Van Jones may be a liberal, but when he’s right, he’s right. On Friday, he was right as he delivered a concise and effective critique of the current state of the Democrat Party.
While making one of his regular appearances on CNN, the former Obama administration official explained how Democrats are completely out of touch with the working class, creating a party comprised of tone-deaf elites. But it’s the way he explained things that eventually left the anchors sitting in stunned silence.
Really, the looks on the faces of Brianna Keilar and John Berman are just priceless. (Tweet/Video)

Noam Blum put this corrective on employee activism against management best, if in a NSFW manner. (snip) An open letter to SpaceX decrying CEO Elon Musk’s recent behavior has sparked open discussion among the company’s employees in an internal chat system. Employees are being encouraged to sign onto the letter’s suggestions, (snip) SpaceX has reportedly fired the employees who released an open letter this week criticizing CEO Elon Musk and referring to his recent behavior as a “distraction and embarrassment” to the company.
In fact, SpaceX’s president alleged, it was the petitioners who bullied and harassed their fellow employees:

Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg told airline executives to clean up their act and avoid another flying catastrophe before July 4 as a record number of flights were canceled across the US for a second day in a row. On Friday, as of 11am, more than 1,000 flights across the US have been canceled and more than 2,300 have been delayed. LaGuardia is the second highest in the US for cancelations today, with 98 flights, with Charlotte Douglas Airport leading the pack with 113 cancelations.(Snip)Buttigieg, alongside millions of other travelers, are tired of what feels like constant cancelations without so much as an apology from the airlines.

President Biden loaded first cat Willow onto the Marine One helicopter for yet another long weekend in Delaware, as first lady Jill Biden cut short her husband’s replies to questions on what most Americans are struggling with — record-high gas prices and soaring inflation. The cat, stowed in a crate, was spotted by journalists Friday being walked across the White House lawn as the chopper hummed. Biden, who on Thursday gave his first on-the-record press interview in four months, took several reporter questions before joining Willow and Jill for the trip to his vacation home in Rehoboth Beach, Del., including
