Former Solicitor General Paul Clement and Erin Murphy, a regular Supreme Court litigator, resigned from Kirkland & Ellis and announced they were opening their own shop in Washington, D.C. Clement has been a high-profile litigator of conservative causes since he left the administration of President George W. Bush.

SACRAMENTO, CA – California is seeking to become the first state in the US to require liability insurance for gun owners.
“Guns kill more people than cars,” Sen. Nancy Skinner, D-Berkeley, said in a statement.
“Yet gun owners are not required to carry liability insurance like car owners must. Why should taxpayers, survivors, families, employers, and communities bear the $280 billion annual cost of gun violence? TALLAHASSEE, FL – In 2018, Andrew Gillum ran against Ron DeSantis in the race for the Florida governor’s mansion. He lost that race.
Now, the former Tallahassee mayor may be losing something for more precious than an election: his freedom.
According to the Daily Wire, Gillum was just indicted on 21 counts related to crimes he allegedly committed in relationship to his campaign finances.
Gillum claims his innocence and says that the charges are political, but the charges are coming from the Biden Department of Justice.

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. - Buford Springs in Hernando County is known for its underwater caves, and Thursday it remained the scene after one person was found dead and another remains missing following their dive.
Rescue crews were called out to the springs, located inside the Chassahowitzka Wildlife Management Area, on Wednesday. They said they were able to recover one of the divers, who died. But as for that other diver, as of Thursday morning, the individual is still missing.

Unless you are brainwashed, you regard the statements “men give birth” and “defund the police” as absurd.
Why, then, do leftists (as opposed to liberals and conservatives) say these things and even believe them?
I think there are two — related — explanations.
One is that the Left seeks to tear down every normative institution. If men give birth, “man” and “woman” no longer mean anything. “Men give birth” means the end of the male-female distinction, the most basic distinction in the human race. Racial distinctions pale in comparison. So do national distinctions.
Marxists support the obliteration of the male-female distinction because the only distinction that matters to Marxists is that of class.

If Donald Trump is not the Republican nominee in 2024, Ron DeSantis likely will be. So the Democratic Party knives are out.
This long–just about endless, in fact–anti-DeSantis rant in the New Yorker suggests how the Democrats will attack Florida’s wildly popular governor.
