During an interview on MSNBC on Thursday, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot criticized the Supreme Court’s ruling on New York’s gun laws for failing to see “the importance of federalism.” And stated that she’s worried the ruling will “the legitimacy of the court, particularly given the leaked draft of the Roe decision.”
Lightfoot stated, “We were part of an amicus effort on the behalf of a number of states in support of the New York law and really focusing on the importance of federalism. But unfortunately, given the composition of this court, we were not surprised that they struck down the New York law. But I think that they gave ample opportunity

Lightfoot is a lightbrain, who has never read the constitution — who ever elected her needs to have their heads examined

So, what about “shall not be infringed” does the SCOTUS completely understand, that Beetlejuice does not?

Lightfoot has lost all legitimacy to talk about anything and I don't understand why she hasn't been driven from office!

#1, thank you. I truly believe that she does not care about the constitution. People are leaving her city in busloads. You are correct, who ever voted for her needs their mind examined. I truly despise that woman.

So, Beetlejuice (hats off to #2; I've always thought she resembled a giant dung beetle) "federalism" is fine when it comes to gun laws or other explicitly-enumerated rights, but somehow evil when applied to the wholly imaginary "right to privacy" that underpins Roe vs. Wade.

I agree with Lightbrain - - individual states and cities should be allowed to become communist dictatorships - - ignoring all of the first ten amendments.
It's what federalism is all about.

I can't think of anyone else that I would go to for advice on gun rights, not. She knows about as much about gun safety, gun rights and the constitution as I do about brain surgery.

Forever a fool, Andrea Mitchell absurdly says, "The Supreme Court's ruling shuts down a lot of options." What options? Is she referring to a lot of options to violate the Second Amendment?

What is kind of humorous about this is that he Federal Courts have ALREADY struck down Illinois' illegal "may issue" CCW law, 9 years ago, and forced Illinois, including Chicago, to have an objective standards "shall issue" CCW law for almost a decade. It should have happened to NY back at the same time.
Is she so far out of touch to not know that she has been living under this exact same requirement for nearly a decade? Dim witted, and uninformed. That always defines the Dems.

The difference, Ms. Walleye, is that the Second Amendment clearly states the right to bear arms, and federalism states that items not covered by the Constitution and Amendments are left to the states. Abortion is NOWHERE in the Constitution, and therefore explicitly a states issue.

Comparing abortion (which is nowhere in the Constitution) to gun rights (which is spelled out in black and white in the Constitution) isn't an "apples versus oranges" difference. It's an "apples versus plutonium" difference!!!!
I live in an extremely lie-beral city (Austin, TX), and I'm expecting the river of lie-beral tears to come flowing down my street any second now!!!!!
