A 23-year-old Ohio man was shot and killed while trying to rob a Dollar General store at gunpoint. Roosevelt Rappley entered the Dayton-area store, produced a firearm, and started demanding money. One of the store clerks was a concealed carry permit holder and was legally armed. Once the suspect pointed his weapon at this clerk, he drew his own weapon and fired, striking the subject in the chest. Rappley returned fire, hitting no one, before stumbling outside and collapsing. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The clerk placed a 9-1-1 call.

During an attempted robbery at Ryan Howard Jersey store in Philadelphia, the would-be robber received instant justice and was killed.
As a man tried to get money out of an ATM just after 1 a.m., another man walked into the store and announced a robbery, police said.
Police believe the victim then took out his own gun and shoot the would-be robber who died.
Police are now looking for the victim and they would like to charge him because of Pennsylvania's stand your ground rule. Police have not identified him, but say he is in his late 20s or early 30s.

The military is facing the worst recruiting environment since the end of the Vietnam War.
The Army is at only 40% of its recruiting numbers for the fiscal year despite raising its maximum enlistment bonus from $40,000 to $50,000. It now offers new recruits up to $10,000 for showing up to basic training in 30 days. And is no longer even asking them for a high school diploma.
"We've never offered $50,000 to join the Army," Maj. Gen. Kevin Vereen, head of U.S. Army Recruiting Command, said.
