It couldn’t have been more perfect than Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas penning the definitive decision that the right to carry guns on one’s person for self-defense is inherent for all Americans.
First of all, Thomas has been after the court to take up more gun rights cases. He used his considerable influence with Chief Justice John Roberts to continue looking for gun rights cases to take. The New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc., et al. v. Bruen and the state of New York was the obvious choice. Remember, the state of New York, before Thursday’s decision as a “may issue” state

May God bless Justice Thomas and grant him a long and healthy life.

In summary:
“We know of no other constitutional right that an individual may exercise only after demonstrating to government officers some special need. That is not how the First Amendment works when it comes to unpopular speech or the free exercise of religion. It is not how the Sixth Amendment works when it comes to a defendant’s right to confront the witnesses against him. And it is not how the Second Amendment works when it comes to public carry for self-defense."
Brilliant.

This decision will not stop NY from grabbing guns. They'll figure out a new way to do it.

Thank you and happy birthday, Justice Thomas. I've always loved this day. Its my mother's birthday, she would be 102 today. Like Scarlett O'Hara, I can shoot straight if I don't have to shoot too far! Lock and load, ladies. We have a country to save.

The Author writes: "Anticipating the reactions of the three justices who reflexively and predictably dissented . . ."
Justice Thomas did not anticipate the dissent. He studied the text of the dissent and his majority opinion responds to it. All justices always know the text of all dissents (and should have sufficient time to respond), including in concurring opinions.
Justice Thomas' majority opinion includes: "New York’s proper-cause requirement violates the Fourteenth Amendment by preventing law-abiding citizens with ordinary self-defense needs from exercising their right to keep and bear arms in public.”
I believe this is his only mention of "citizens" in his lengthy opinion. This reference cannot logically support an argument that the majority opinion believes the protections in the Second Amendment apply only to citizens.
"A federal statute places most noncitizens outside of the protection of the Second Amendment.[1] The constitutionality of this statute has been challenged on several occasions, resulting in a split between the Seventh Circuit Court and the Fourth, Fifth, and Eighth Circuit Courts."

The Supreme Court has never published any opinion to resolve these disputes among these Circuits.

Anyone still wondering why the fraudulent J6 committee wants to haul his wife in front of the cameras and commit a second high tech lynching? I hope that he has quadrupled security for himself and his family. Please pray for this wonderful, brilliant, patriotic man!

That the right to bear arms is indeed a RIGHT not a privilege optionally bestowed by the state for selected individuals has been clearly defined in this opinion. But those who have tried to deny us our rights will continue their efforts anew. We cannot relax.

FTA - "He used his considerable influence with Chief Justice John Roberts to continue looking for gun rights cases to take."
Thomas has influence with Roberts all right. I remember shortly after the Great Election Fraud of 2020 when SCOTUS was deciding whether to dismiss the Texas election fraud case filed by then AG Ken Paxton that Justice Thomas was heard by court clerks of Thomas forcefully dressing down Roberts over his refusal to hear the Texas case. Even though Thomas was not successful in changing Robert's mind who was committed to covering up the fraud, not everybody gets to yell and scream at their boss and still has a job afterwards.
In many respects, Justice Thomas would add badly needed integrity to the Executive Branch if he were to sit behind the Resolute Desk.

Happy Birthday to AND FROM Justice Clarence Thomas.
This clearly makes it a right to carry for ALL Americans, and takes away the state mandates of individual states that prohibit that right. It appears to me to be an end to states having reciprocity with other states because the SCOTUS allows persons from state B to now carry in all states, including Maryland.

And yet New York, is already rewriting the law that was just declared unconstitutional, and claiming it's a new law and must be litigated just like the old one was.
What's the point of winning when you never achieve the indicated correct result - just more B.S.?
The government has taken a tool meant to benefit and protect ALL Americans and turned it into a tool to benefit and protect themselves from other Americans. There is no Justice if there is not justice for all.
