Billionaire Ken Griffin is relocating his big hedge-fund firm Citadel from Chicago to Miami, the third major employer to announce the move of a corporate headquarters from Illinois in the past two months.
In a letter to employees Thursday that was viewed by The Wall Street Journal, Mr. Griffin said he had personally moved to Florida and that his market-making business, Citadel Securities, would also transfer. He wrote he views Florida as a better corporate environment and though he didn’t specifically cite crime as a factor, company officials said it was a consideration.
Mr. Griffin is the wealthiest resident of Illinois, so his departure will hurt state tax collections
Chicago the next Detroit. Florida the next New York . Thanks libs.

Chicago the next Detroit. Florida the next Chicago. Problem is liberals leave the Hades holes they create to go and destroy another location. Plagues of locust are jealous of th destructive powers of liberal uncharge.

I want to remind #1 & 2 that FL is getting Redder.
Many of those I've talk to from Blue Zones are now registered GOP & voting for DeSantis 2022.
They have learned & also that TX is also Redder.

Maybe Chicago and Illinois should impose a shoplifting tax to fund the city and state.

If the Democrats in Springfiled are anything like the Democrat staffers in Sacramento, losing a big employer to another state is a cause for celebration with high-fives all around.

Fox Business' article included this bit of information: "But Griffin’s wealth will likely be a felt loss in Chicago which reportedly received more than $600 million in gift donations to educational, cultural, medical and civic organizations."

Run a sh** hole of a city, and refuse for years to even attempt to clean up the violence, and guess what?
People leave, and some of those people take their entire company with them.
Chicago has been deteriorating badly for a long time. In that terminal dive, it looks like.
Well deserved.

Number 3 I hope you are right but that certainly hasn’t been the case in Virginia, the Carolinas, Georgia, Colorado, Tennessee or Arizona.

Chicago was the first big city I visited as a child. My father was a graduate of the University of Chicago and loved the city. I saw it through his eyes and loved the place as well - the Field Museum, Marshall Field's flagship store, the Palmer House Hotel, the "L," and so on. It breaks my heart to read about it now.

Besides the crime, there are also the high state taxes, government that hates business, and cold, windy Chicago winters. The beautiful setting of the city on Lake Michigan does not make up for the crime and taxes.

This is why it's important that Ron DeSantis remains Florida governor for now. Setting the example for the other cowardly nincompoops and making Florida unbreakable. If he goes too soon, the putrid flood of progressivism will wash away all the good he has done.

I hope they know how to speak Spanish. I was born there, and it is not the same city I grew up in.
