The $174,000 congressional salary is difficult on “working and middle class” lawmakers, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) asserted this week on Instagram.
“Only 10 women in the history of the United States have ever given birth while serving in Congress. 10,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote in a story posted to her Instagram, referring to the U.S. House of Representatives as a “hostile place to have a baby,” as vote schedules “pretty much” assume that no one has a family, as they change often and require frequent travel.
Not only that, Ocasio-Cortez complained, but there are thousands of dollars worth of out-of-pocket expenses.

Stealing co-workers' tips at the bar were not enough. Now she wants to steal more money from the taxpayers. She's in office to scam the people.

What a load of old rubbish! AOC knew what she'd make when she took the job. Was she not the Congresswoman who asserted she was selling her Tesla as soon as possible so she could rid herself of that association with Elon Musk? What's the price tag on that vehicle?
This is not a serious person. That's sad. What is even sadder is that she doesn't know how unserious she is. Self-absorbed? Yep! Got that in spades. Serious. Not even on the same planet as serious.

Pobrecita...... maybe she'd be happier back at the bar she came out of. Did she earn more than $174K there? She whines and whines and whines, doesn't she.

It is MORE money that she has ever made in her Life...apparently nearly double her previous highest earning year, certainly much, much, more than she made as a part-time bartender.

Her office budget is between $3,500,000 to $5,000,000 ANNUALLY.
ALL expenses are paid for from this budget.

We The People would love to ease your pain by implementing term limits, as these positions were never intended to be lifetime career choices. You have jacked salaries, a range of free and subsidized benefits well beyond general private sector, per diems, expense accounts, and how in the world did you get to Washington thinking the job would be easy on a new mother? It's not a 9-5. And for the record - LOTS of hard jobs are like that, with way less pay and bennies and none of the power. But sure - it sucks to be her.

Is she trolling for a job in the media where she will be paid in the millions?
Perhaps she could write a book. (heehee)

Teachers in California make 49k starting salary. They have to jump through hoops to get their accreditation and they often spend their own money on supplies and things for the classroom. AOC has no idea about reality and so many people who work their butts off and can barely make it.

I would like to see her enumerate those "thousands of dollars of out-of-pocket expenses." I suspect you would find things that every working American EXPECTS to pay for: gas, haircuts, meals, gym memberships, travel, clothing, etc. And these regular working stiffs still manage to have children and raise families in the hostile confines of progressive-socialist run America!
