NBC’s Chuck Todd mocks ‘thoughts and

Giving credit where credit is due, MSNBC’s Chuck Todd managed quite succinctly to sum up the debate on gun control, but perhaps not in the way he intended. Following the prescribed narrative of this week’s corporate media diktat, Todd began Sunday’s episode of “Meet the Press” on NBC News with an anti-Second Amendment and, more precisely, anti-conservative lament regarding the massacre in Uvalde, Texas. Where his peers had carried the weight of the Democrat Party with the standard misrepresentations of mass shooting statistics and the types of firearms responsible for most heinous crimes, Todd took aim at the culture.

Since Democrats are looking to make the age to buy a firearm 21, which is the same for buying alcohol and other "big" decisions, then we should be looking to increase the age to vote to 21 too. You say, well, if someone can join the military at 18, he/she should be able to buy a gun. Well, we can carve out that very small specific group. I'm all for a 10 day waiting period to buy a gun, background checks, etc.. You want to go hunting with your father, uncle, etc.. well, they can provide the shot gun, or whatever is being used, until that person is 21. But, don't raise the age to buy a gun without also raising the age to vote.

Re#1 The voting age was lowered while the military draft still existed. And 18s proved too immature to legally drink alcohol so most States raised the legal drinking age. We all know how ignorant, naive and impetuous we were during our youth; I believe the voting age should be raised to 25. I did that SE Asia tour in 70-71. I couldn't vote but if I could have it would have been purely self interest - all else be damned.

God, government, or self? If you have not selected God out of the three choices, wisdom is probably not in the picture for you. Given that wisdom comes from God only, the other two choices are leaning on their own flawed understanding. Meet Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Democrats, liberals, and the RINOs.

Re#2: I agree with most of what you write with the exception that I think open carry puts the defender at a distinct tactical disadvantage. Having your sidearm openly displayed lets the bad guys identify you as a potential threat and says to them, "Shoot me first". Keeping your weapon concealed until an opportunity to act presents itself will give you a tactical advantage over the bad guys. Just my two cents.

The second amendment does exist, as does the constitution, and the amendment is immaculate for not having any of the amendments attached to it that the left would like to attach, being short and plaintive that you have a right to own firearms. How else would you defend yourself from the left, and their government takeover.

As we reported earlier, Michael Sussmann was found not guilty of lying to the FBI, despite the evidence that he was working for the Clinton campaign and that he told FBI General Counsel James Baker that he was not working for any client. That raised questions as to how, given the evidence, you get a not guilty verdict in this case? Now, part of the issue may have been judicial rulings that hindered Special Counsel John Durham’s case to some degree, as I noted. The other part may have been you likely started out with an unfavorable jury, to begin with, in D.C., but then, in this case, you also seemed

A high school in a Chicago is implementing a race-based grading system “to adjust classroom grading scales to account for skin color or ethnicity of its students.” The move is necessary, advocates say, because “traditional grading practices perpetuate inequities,” a slide used in a presentation said. Students, depending on their race, will not be held accountable for missing class, misbehaving in school, or for failing to turn in assignments. Washington—A federal jury on Tuesday found former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann not guilty of lying to the FBI — finding special counsel John Durham did not prove his case beyond a reasonable doubt. The verdict by a jury in heavily Democratic-leaning DC, came midway through the second day of deliberations following a two-week trial on a single count of making false statements to a federal agent. Durham’s prosecution team unsuccessfully sought to prove that Sussmann deliberately lied to then-FBI general counsel James Baker by claiming not to be acting on behalf of the Clinton campaign and an internet executive when the two met in 2016.
