As posted recently, Oberlin College is seeking to have the Ohio Supreme Court hear an appeal from the massive $32 million judgment entered after jury trial in the Lorain County Court of Common Pleas as affirmed by the 9th District Court of Appeals. There has been an appeal bond place since trial issued by Zurich American Insurance Company securing the judgment plus future interest in the amount of $36 million, as a condition of a stay of judgment issued by the trial court.

Comments:

Due to legalese, hesitate to get into the weeds; however, it appears that Oberlin College may not have anticipated this motion by the Gibson’s so, as Mr. Jacobson points out, “...this probably has ruined someone’s weekend” especially since the filing requests the Court’s judgment against the insurance company bond in the amount of $36,127,181.25 plus $4,331.19 per diem. Jacobson has followed this case since Day One. Many of us have been cheering for the Gibson family for as long. This is worth a read - stick with it to the end. Jacobson is an excellent plain English law professor. In a word, it appears that someone on the Oberlin team may have goofed up… How nifty.

If these resolutions are approved by a majority, the WHO will have exclusive international authority in the case of a pandemic to impose all the rules, including quarantines, lockdowns, obligatory vaccinations, and vaccine passports. In the wake of the myriad failures during the covid pandemic response, World Health Organization officials did little self reflection. Instead, they decided that they needed even more power over the global population. Subsequently, the idea of a Global Pandemic Treaty was born. COVID-19 illustrated the need for enhanced preparedness and closer cooperation at global level.(Snip)The World Health Organization gets to define what a pandemic is, when a pandemic is in progress and how long a pandemic lasts. The immediate and most obvious speculation (including by me) was that the leak was by a liberal/leftist, likely a law clerk, trying to create a firestorm of protest that would pressure one of those five Justices to wobble, much like Chief Justice John Roberts reportedly switched his vote on Obamacare in 2012.(Snip)So an activist could leak using a false narrative that Alito represents the majority, can generate the protests and the energy in the base, can create an issue for the midterms, and at the end of the day, Roe survives, which can be spun as a victory for the protesters, proving the mob was able to intimidate the Justices.
