GOP lawmakers in Indiana voted Tuesday to override a veto by Governor Eric Holcomb (R) and enact a law banning male athletes identifying as female from competing in girls’ sports.
Indiana joins at least a dozen other U.S. states in enacting similar laws. (snip) Only minutes after the governor’s veto was overridden, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed a lawsuit on behalf of a 10-year-old boy who identifies as female and wants to play on an all-girls softball team. The purpose of the suit is to seek blockage of the override before the transgender sports ban is set to take place on July 1.

Holcolm wants to become Indiana's next Senator. I don't think that's going to happen.

Three divisions: "Male", "Female", and "Who Knows?"
The communist war on women has allies in Republican governors. Thank God we allies in our Republican legislatures. This is the people's fight against the aristocracy and too many RINO govs are on the wrong side.

Any Governor who would veto a law preserving the rights of females to have a fair sports environment doesn't deserve to pretend to serve the people.
As an aside, do you recall the last time the ACLU was on the side of righteousness? Me neither. How is their argument any different if their client was a 300 lb offensive tackle, who wanted to play on a little league football team?

Holcomb is a China-friendly, Davos hopping, squishy disgrace. His time in office can't end soon enough.

Holcomb is about the squishiest Republican we've ever had in the governor's office. That's saying something after what we found out Pence to be.

Our governor here in South Carolina just signed a similar bill. Biological males cannot play on female teams and vice versa. The only exception is for sports which are “co-ed” already.

These state legislatures are involving themselves where there are state associations to make these rules if their member schools agree. I predict these laws will not stand up in courts, as they target one group (tranny females) protecting narrow interests (girls athletics). It apparently does not ban tranny males from boys games, nor girls from boys games. Why not? International rules allow competition.
Title IX is a civil rights act involving much more than games and sports. But let's take it a step further. Why won't this same legislature require state school setasides among athletic scholarships for women in traditionally male sports? IU could use these women on its football, swimming and basketball teams, providing them the superior physical conditioning, nutrition and coaching now denied them to improve their performance - and isn't that the goal? Not separate but equal. Sportsmanship and friendly competition with improved performance? The crowds could cheer those backmarker females trying their hardest, perhaps one day winning, breaking a glass ceiling.
Women demand EQUALITY while also demanding protection from male competition. And it's not just athletics. Girls are given every advantage with special educational, coaching, and scholarship and occupational/school placement programs. Males, particularly white, straight males, suffer. It's affirmative action that again penalizes merit in favor of sex, race, age...whatever. And one wonders, for example, why white male college entrance and graduation rates are suffering? Why significantly more women than men are on campus, with a growing gap? It must be those leftists who support and enforce these kinds of policies.

I'm a life long Indiana Hoosier and I could not believe it when he won in the primary. Down here in Southern Indiana we say it must of been those northern Hoosiers who voted for him. Or maybe the Democrats crossed over and voted in our primary. Anyway, it's an amazement that he is a Republican.
