ROME — A flurry of U.S. bishops have rallied behind San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, who has barred Nancy Pelosi from receiving Holy Communion because of her aggressive abortion advocacy.
As of May 23, at least 13 U.S. bishops have made public statements praising and thanking Archbishop Cordileone for the move, which was variously described as “courageous,” “heroic,” and “compassionate.”
Lincoln Bishop James Conley, for instance, said he supports Archbishop Cordileone “in his courageous pastoral outreach to a member of his flock. His actions are made as a shepherd with the heart of Christ.”

I am not a Catholic. How does Pelosi’s and her local archbishop’s playing fast and loose with another archbishop’s having banned her from communion because of her advocacy of abortion strike the average Catholic??

It should be unanimous, but won't be. The Catholic church hierarchy is infested with priests, bishops, and archbishops who think Catholic church teachings are merely "suggestions."

Her local San Francisco archbishop banned her. The DC archbishop where she is a politician, let her defy that ban.

The Catholic Church is not doing so well.
They are losing people in the pews.
As lifelong Catholic I refuse to leave the Church because of the horrible decisions made by the hierarchy.
The Cardinal in my Archdiocese the Archdiocese of Washington cardinal Gregory has no problem with giving Pelosi Communion. He was picked by Cardinal Weirhl and Cardinal Mc Carrick who themselves had troubles involving homosexuals, and has come under suspicion himself. It's no surprise that he refuses to support the act of a brave Bishop from San Francisco.
You want to know why people are leaving the Church. It isn't their faith in the Church it is their faith in it's hierarchy.

Every time something like this comes up, I am reminded of the title of a Broadway musical from the early 80's. To paraphrase, Nasty's "arms are too short to box with God!!"

When Nancy is on her death bed, the catholic church MUST refuse to give her the last rights. May she burn in hell for eternity.

Dear. Nancy. The church is not to be of the world, but of the kingdom of G-d brought to fruition through Christ. The building is not to be a backdrop for campaign photos but a sanctuary of communion with God with mindful thankfulness of all He is doing. You are mixing politics with religion. Which will you serve? Your priest loves you enough to speak the truth so you do not eat unworthily bring your soul to damnation.

The Church needs people like Pelosi to refill the pews with illegals, a majority of which were raised in the RCC. And her stance on homosexuality provides cover for the wayward priests.

Today we all should be Catholics and stand with Father Cordileone for his godly, biblical stand. We know our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for all of us, alive and unborn, is smiling down on this beloved priest. We can hear the Angels in Heaven singing for this priest's courageous stand.

Let me answer that for you...poster #1...I'm a Catholic...and a priest is a messenger from God....He takes his instructions from the Bible...God's word...so in this case ...one priest had the courage to stand with his faith and follow the teachings of Jesus...it is now...and never has been...okay to kill a baby...or anyone else...for that matter..slick politicians cannot change the word..."Thou shalt not kill"....remember...if you live by the sword...you die by the sword...

For someone well into their 80's she can hear the angels wings flapping around her head at night if she shut up and just listened!
You'd think she'd want to get on the right side of Jesus by now --- who's no doubt folding His arms and tapping His foot right now.
Hey Nancy ... when Jesus starts counting to 3 real slow ... you're screwed!

I am a Catholic unlike Whoppie Goldberg who has the nerve to think she knows more about Catholicsm than an archbishop. Let me make one thing clear about what we believe about the Eucharist. In our faith, it is not a symbol but the real presence of Christ who told us "This is my body." Look up the Eucharistic miracles on YouTube.
Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden and other cafeteria catholics know full well that they are defiling the faith when they take communion with an evil soul.

San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone is a treasure, a gentle, humble man with a keen conscience. If you haven't watched his interview explaining his decision, you can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sym2QJxHKyM
I am not Catholic but it is impossible not to see the pastoral heart of this man. May God bless and protect him.

Speaking as an Evangelical Christian, where in the blazes are the protestant ministers/pastors speaking out for the unborn babies and in support for the PRO LIFE CATHOLIC PRIESTS? We all are part of the BODY OF CHRIST, aren't we? When one is attacked, we all are attacked. As Paul the Apostle said when one part of the Body hurts, another part of the body hurts. If Christians don't stand together, then we will all be destroyed separately.
