Former Attorney General William Barr said he believes former President Donald Trump is morally responsible for the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol but isn't legally culpable.Asked by NBC News' Lester Holt whether he considered Trump "responsible" for the violence at the Capitol, Barr said: "I do think he was responsible in the broad sense of that word, in that it appears that part of the plan was to send this group up to the Hill. I think the whole idea was to intimidate Congress. And I think that that was wrong."But, he added, he hasn't seen evidence that Trump committed an actual crime.

Has it crossed his mind how morally reprehensible his statement is.

I'd say that Barr is morally responsible AND legally culpable for not investigating the election fraud that everyone seems to know happened but doesn't have the b@lls to look into

Barr’s clever. He knows “morally responsible” is the political equivalent of a criminal conviction. Yet he doesn’t come off as a shitff type idiot. Yet it’s just an opinion, probably just “but for” reasoning which is almost never valid: but for Trump having the rally it never would have happened.
My reasoning is that it never would have happened if there had been adequate security and the chief of the capitol police’s request for more security and a declaration of emergency had not been denied.
The only beneficiaries of the event have been the dims and antitrupmers. There are very unusual activities in the videos of the event which indicate other forces at work to trigger the event.

Well, DUH, the President decides what's classified! Of course you couldn't prosecute. You couldn't prosecute anything he did on 1/6 either, since he was STILL the President and could have done whatever he wanted until 1/20, include firing your worthless arse.

So, is Barr saying that politicians who gave money to bail out BLM rioters and supported BLM are morally responsible for the riots and destruction?

Trump said to go to the Capitol and peacefully protest. What is wrong with that, morally? And isn't all protest a form of intimidation? It is effectively saying, the people are against what you are doing and will make our voices heard to the public if you do it.

Stupid SOB, either doesn't know the Constitution or is pretending not to. The whole purpose of peaceable assembly (which is what President Trump instructed them to do) and petitioning the government IS to intimidate the government into doing something different.
First Amendment: Congress shall make no law prohibiting... the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Yet, he wrote a book to make money off of Pres. Trump knowing the President did nothing wrong. What a jerk!!!! If he had done his job properly, none of this would have happened. Why didn't he look into the crooked Biden's while he was AG? Now that's real story about corruption/

Obviously Billy Bagpipe Barr hasn't seen the video of PDJT telling the people going to the Capitol to go in peace and not cause problems. The problems were caused by the ones dressed in black, wearing helmets and black back packs. They think we just got off the turnip truck and don't know what is going on. But it really doesn't make a difference to them. This book is his payoff from the swamp for doing as he was told.

I could not give a hoot what this man has to say or write in his new book. When election fraud was in our and his face, he said "There's NO election fraud here". I have no use for him. He is no better than Liz Cheney or George W. Bush.

Of course you wouldn't have because you couldn't as PDJT did nothing wrong in both instances. Bill Barr is a useless, fat deep state gas bag who is trying to peddle a book. He was a cowardly man and a pathetic AG whose book I wouldn't by even when it winds up in the $1 bin at Walmart.

Bill Barr was a walking tool for the democrat party and deep state during his stint as AG. He did and said just enough to operate under the radar. Now he has exposed himself for what he is, a deep state operative. He will do and say whatever is necessary to remain in the good graces of those whose sole goal is to undermine the Constitution in order to consolidate their power. These are the folks who actually run this country. Everything else is just window dressing. This bureaucratic nightmare operated in the shadows for decades until recently when they believed they had garnered enough power they needed to make their move unchallenged. This is the preeminent power force driving the insane policies that are destroying us. The democrat party is only a tool, a willing one albeit.
What high profile politician or government official is willing to buck this heinous cabal of power hungry madmen? Their confidence comes from the tight control they hold over the majority of politicians. Once they are in the grip of the deep state, they stay there. It brooks no rebellion and very few live to tell the truth even if they are so inclined. The only guy they cannot control is Donald J. Trump. Barr did his part. He refused to look at the obvious evidence of election fraud. Donald Trump had to go and men like Bill Barr facilitated it. My question is how do we rid the country of this cabal that is deeply embedded into every agency of this government and worst of all, controls the intelligence gathering activities inside and outside the country? What I believed was a coup d’etat perpetrated recently, I now believe was achieved long ago very slowly. The faceless puppet masters have been controlling the government for decades. Their master stroke of genius was to be patient and work in a manner that would go unnoticed through various administrations until the believed the time was right and their power secure. Then along came Donald John Trump and he was a threat to their power. He is unafraid and truthful and that is a direct threat. He has to be destroyed. All it takes for the Deep State to succeed is men like Bill Barr who exist which allows them to operate unimpeded.

Looks like billie the AG is dancing all over the place...guess he needs to make nice so he can attend the DC Friday night cocktail parties and hobnob with the entitled elite in Washington ...it's a familiar scene...everyone patting themselves on the back for a job well done...they are no better than Putin when it comes to harsh treatment of the peasants...who should just sit down and shut up...he'll decide what is legal...not the truckers and ordinary folk...

I gather what turned Barr from saying the mail in ballots were "dangerous" to flip flopping was his meeting with President Trump after the election and President Trump telling him to investigate the stolen election and Barr saying "No!" That's probably what set Trump off and him telling Barr he was fired and to leave immediately. Well, nobody speaks to Atty. Barr that way and gets away with it. So hence, a hit job book. Retaliation is a nasty word sprinkled with vengeance.
The problem with what Barr is doing is that eternal Truth: you reap what you sow...or as the world says, what goes around, comes around. Watch and see.

What bothers me is that Joe DiGenova and his wife Victoria highly recommended Barr to Trump. They are Washington insiders and also Trump supporters. I've always like them and still do. Were they that ignorant of Barr? My guess is when Barr was AG for Trump, the big money deep staters made him an offer he couldn't refuse. Many other weaklings in the Trump White House have also taken this path. I would love to see a recent financial statement on Bill Barr and wouldn't be surprised to see a new home purchased in the Caribean or other exotic place in the past couple of years. Long story short...Bill Barr is not a trustworthy person.

For everyone trashing Bill Barr, can you please answer this question - if Barr is so bad, why in hell did Trump appoint him as AG? And the same for Jeff Sessions... and Rex Tillerson... and John Bolton... and Anthony Scaramucci... should I keep on going? I voted for Trump twice, and will do it again if he's the nominee, but let's stop pretending that Trump perfect and nothing is his fault. He's not God.
