Kamala Harris say it is time to make a
'transition' to green energy as she pushes
electric cars and 'clean transit' with
Pete Buttigieg while Americans face record
gas prices

Vice President Kamala Harris and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on Monday pushed a transition to green energy and electric cars as Americans face record high prices at the pump. As gas costs soar and more workers are returning to the office as covid numbers fall, President Joe Biden's administration announced a $3.7 billion boost for public transportation, including an investment in new fleets of electric buses. 'We are all in the midst of a turning point. We have the technologies to transition to a zero emission fleet,' Harris said during the announcement. 'We can address the climate crisis and grow our economy at the same time.'

Comments:

"This is a car. An electric car. You plug it in and you can drive around a bit, especially if you have a really long extension cord. See? Even a Republican could understand that, hahahaha."

Hey Kammie and Butt Pete, can you recharge an EV in the time it takes to fill a gas tank? Come on give us an answer. Where is the EV recharging infrastructure? There are only three within a 20 mile radius of me. As compared to the number of gas stations within the same readius - 45. You guys are either delusional or insane or both.

Green energy just cannot make an economy run. Being determined about it doesn't contribute anything, it just marks you as uncomprehending. All green energy depends on unknowable things.... how much wind and rain, how thick the clouds.... The more dependent an economy is on renewables the shakier. You wouldn't wish this on anybody you cared about.

So, this is what they are up to? There is no way we can all go electric. The infrastructure isn't there. Not everybody is drinking at the public trough, like they are, and can run out and buy an EV and install charging stations in their homes. They will need to increase the number of power plants and while they are doing that are we supposed to walk 20 miles each way to work?

The groundwork and infrastructure, much less the quantity of affordable vehicles is nowhere near in place, but they want no bridge measures taken in the midst of this purposeful, created crises. We will be punished until such measures are in place or until they are profoundly removed from policy-making on any and all levels. We The People are under siege and we don't know it.

Do these morons realize that EVs are in their infancy? Electric vehicles today compare to the Model T in 1909. In 1909 a Model T cost $825. In 1925 the Model T cost $260. What brought the cost down? Innovation and competition. When will EVs or something else that replaces ICEs become affordable? When Innovation and competition make them so. Someone who can emulate John D. Rockefeller will install charging stations, or hydrogen refueling stations, or whatever it might be from coast to coast. These short-sighted bureaucrats think they are doing us a favor by weaning us off of fossil fuels without anything to replace it. Do they even realize that hydrocarbons go into almost everything that is manufactured in the world, and not just gasoline and diesel fuel? And where are the unicorn flatulence and fairy dust power plants to generate electricity for those EVs they are trying to push on us?

Yea, and as of now, San Diego Gas & Elect charges a much higher rate if you use electricity between 4~9 pm, they are constantly telling us to use electrical items during off-hours, so what going to happen when everybody plugs their electric cars in overnight? The rate will be doubled, tripled, or worse. People don’t realize several things about electrical vehicles: 1. They have no resale value due to the staggering costs of replacing the batteries, which are consumables. They cost between $12,000.00 and $24,000.00 to have the batteries replaced. 2. It takes 90,000 miles of driving an electric car before the savings come equal to a gas vehicle (provided elec night rates were to not increase). 3. Charging with a 110v charger takes 24 hours to fully charge. 4. Chargers are typically 240v~480v, and fast chargers are 880v. Wiring your home with an electrician to get this power hooked up to plugin is expensive. Most people haven’t run something that uses this much voltage, but imagine running an electric dryer all night every night, then multiply that by your population served by your utility company. 5. All of those "free" charging stations being installed by the Gov across the country will not be "free" in the near future. In Oregon, I heard vandals are cutting off the handles so the charging machines can't be used. It is another BIG LIE that we are being fed. Do not under any circumstance buy an electric vehicle no matter what. Hold the line, fight back and bite the bullet now with the high gas prices. It will only be temporary and it won't last forever. LET'S GO, BRANDON!!!

That was then, this is now. (snip) The Peter Principle says that people rise to the level of their incompetence. (snip) It’s difficult to believe that Biden could find someone less competent than himself, but he did. Among the vast numbers of very unintelligent politicians, VP Kamala is perhaps the least competent

Macarena had just put on a pair of skinny jeans when her phone rang. U.S. Navy officials have said a warship can’t be deployed because its commander has refused the COVID-19 vaccine. The service said an East Coast guided-missile destroyer is “out of commission” after a Florida federal judge ruled that the Navy and Marine Corps cannot remove its officer for being unvaccinated against COVID-19. The warship now remains docked in Norfolk, Virginia. It comes after U.S. District Judge Steven Merryday, a George H. W. Bush nominee, ruled on Feb. 2 to bar Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and all other military officials from taking punitive action against the unnamed Navy officer, who sought religious exemptions to the military’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
