Buttigieg Says the Solution to High Gas
Prices Is Simple: Just Buy an EV

Original Article

When will we ever learn not to fret over what’s going on in the world? Our Democrat party overlords know what’s best for us, and all we have to do is simply follow their suggestions. After all, their solutions are so simple. Take high gas prices for example. So many of us peons worry about the skyrocketing price of gas at the pump, but America’s brilliant Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg has a fix for gas prices that’s so easy it’s almost ridiculous. Why, you just need to buy an electric vehicle, you silly goose. “Clean transportation can bring significant cost savings for the American people as well,” Buttigieg said

Wuch simpletons! EV owners not paying their fair share of road taxes are yet another reason those gaping potty holes are swallowing our cars whole. Not to mention all the free electricity at some of our TN state parks. WHERE is my FREE gasoline?

If you live in a gated community with a golf course, get yourself a Club Car or a Pargo golf cart with room for two full sized staff bags on the back. Put a charger in your garage to keep the cart ready for daily golf. Then go to it. Play your heart out. But if you have any plans that aren't very local, any electric car--not cart--is boutique transportation. The entire Green "energy" revolution (solar, wind, biofuel, etc.) needs to be ended now, rat now. It's of no use, except to impoverish Americans and make it impossible for them to travel any significant distances in private transportation. This administration is doing their level best to destroy America. Destroy them instead. Joyfully.

They/We are NOT READY for the full scale conversion to EVs they want. Gov't going to GIVE me 40 K for my current vehicles so I can make a huge investment to purchase one of their wet dreams? (I'll be needing a large, forgivable loan for that too) And charging stations every other highway mile, plenty of fossil fuel to feed the chargers - good golly but these folks should NOT run anything more complicated than a coffee grinder.

There is a 1 in 3 likelihood that the "clean" electric energy for those electric vehicles comes by way of a miner digging black gold from the deep, dark domain, to be burned in an electric power plant. Liberals think that electric comes from an electric outlet--it is just that simple.

The push is coming for all to "sacrifice" their gas-guzzling autos for short-distance EVs. Need to travel a long distance? Mass transit, baby! The interstates will be reserved for the transport of goods, buses, and, of course, the luxury autos of the elite. No need for the EV infrastructure if you're not allowed to use those roads. Rush (the band) had an anthem for those of us who will miss the days of free-wheeling: "Red Barchetta". Soon to arrive: rolling brownouts and sky-high electricity prices for the fly-over country heathens. greyseal

Sure. My $10.00 to $15.00 per hour employees (many single mothers) will run out today and by a new Tesla, Rivian, or Lucid. Even if they purchased a Prius or other more reasonably priced new hybrid vehicle, they still couldn't afford one, couldn't find one, and most likely would not have a good enough credit score for financing. Even if they wanted a used Prius or similar vehicle, used hybrids/electrics are so expensive and used inventory is very low. Pete Buttigeig is living in a fantasy world.

Today I paid $109.00 to fill up my diesel SUV. This used to cost me about $40.00 in the fall of 2020. My business has a fleet of 15 passenger cargo vans getting 8 to 12 MPG each. It currently costs about $100.00 to fill them up. In the summer of 2020 it cost about $35.00 to fill them up. Does Mayor Pete suggest I replace my diesel SUV to haul four kids with a small electric car? Do I need to replace a paid off fleet of large cargo vans with an expensive fleet of electric cargo vans that I cannot afford? A more simple solution to the high gas prices would be to simply do what we were doing in the summer of 2020. Produce our own oil and gas and stop buying it from overseas!

I recently attended a conference in Charleston, SC. I drove from Cheyenne, WY for three days, roughly 1800 miles, attended my conference for four days and returned to Cheyenne. If I were to have done this in an EV how many days would it have taken? Maybe 400 miles before needing an overnight stay to recharge the battery. So five days for the drive each way. So my ten day trip becomes a 14 day trip, with at least four more nights in motels. No thank you.

Sure, he’s handsome, in a rough-hewn sort of way. He speaks fairly well. And he’s got a nice, toothy smile. Remind you of anyone? If you guessed “John F. Kennedy,” you win a cookie. Russia is a bigger country. Russia is a powerful country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine, so basically, that’s wrong.” It was hard to wrap our heads around why she gave such an airheaded explanation. Mitt Romney has disgraced himself by reacting hysterically to a tweet by former Representative Tulsi Gabbard calling for a ceasefire in Ukraine around the US-funded biological laboratories where hazardous pathogens exist. Romney, to his eternal disgrace, accused her of “treasonous lies.” Treason itself is a death penalty crime, but perhaps in the Senator’s mind “treasonous lies” are a different offense. (snip) The existence of such labs in Ukraine was confirmed by Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland last week in congressional testimony (snip) The World Health Organization (WHO) last week warned of the hazards of the labs:

Democrat midterm campaign chief Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY) over the weekend in Philadelphia said his party is the “problem” as to why they are having trouble relating to the voters. At the House Democrats’ retreat, Maloney, head of the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), said that as much as everyone says, “The problem is not the voters… The problem is us.” He made the statement during a part of the conference weekend that was supposed to be designed to forge unity, Washington Post reported. “They think that we’re divisive and too focused on cultural issues. They think that we’re preachy. They think that we act like we know better than parents

The shifting sands of Democrat gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke’s gun control plans have solidified, for now, into a pledge to buy back AR-15s and AK-47s from Texans if the state legislature will support doing it. O’Rourke spoke with Texas Tribune CEO Evan Smith on Saturday and KVUE reported O’Rourke’s comments. Smith asked O’Rourke to clarify his position on confiscatory gun control. O’Rourke stressed his belief that citizens should not be able to buy a AR-15s, then said: “And if I can find the consensus within the Legislature to have a law in the state of Texas that allows us to buy those AK-47s and AR-15s back, we will.

Chicago city workers who don't have their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, a group that includes about 2,800 cops, will be placed on nondisciplinary no-pay status on Sunday after the city won another court battle over its mandate last week. The city will consider disciplining workers on a case-by-base basis, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said Friday. 'All city employees, including Chicago police officers, who fail to comply may also face disciplinary action, up to and including termination. These decisions will be addressed at an individual and department level, and are being undertaken in a manner that will not impact public safety or the continuity

It has been one of the most enduring Covid conspiracy theories: that the 'gold standard' PCR tests used to diagnose the virus were picking up people who weren't actually infected. Some even suggested the swabs, which have been carried out more than 200 million times in the UK alone, may mistake common colds and flu for corona.(Snip)Last month a report by the research charity Collateral Global and academics at Oxford University concluded as much, stating that as many as one third of all positive cases may not have been infectious. If they are right, that's a potentially staggering number – roughly six million cases.
