Ukrainian brewery ditches beer for Molotov

A Ukrainian brewery has switched craft beer for Molotov cocktails in the fight against advancing Russian troops. The workers at the Pravda brewery in Lviv decided to produce the petrol bombs amid fears that Russian tanks will roll into the western city of 720,000 residents near the Polish border, Agence France-Presse reported. The company began producing the incendiary weapons for the Ukrainian Territorial Defense Forces, which is made up of reservists who responded to President Volodymyr Zelensky’s call to take up arms. “You have to wait for the cloth to be well soaked. When it is, that means the Molotov cocktail is ready,” one smiling employee told AFP as he stuffed the cloth

The Finns invented this petrol bomb and named it (probably with a sardonic grin) for the Bolshevik Vyacheslav Molotov, who had been in the Soviet government since the 1920s. God bless the Ukrainians, and may they use their weapons well.

FTA: One of Pravda’s favorite brews is called “Putin khuylo,” AFP reported — which roughly translates to “Putin is a d—head.” That is so great. I hope to lift a Pravda beer in celebration after the Russians crawl away defeated.

Ladies and Gentlemen. At this point I have to believe a minimum 90% of what is coming out of the Ukraine is complete B.S. That is from all sides, all governments, all press and bloggers. The same lumps of garbage that sold you multiple interventions, 'collusion' and the Vid are the ones pushing all of this. Take a breath and think for yourself. So much of this has the 'Guy in Wuhan falling on his face' vibe.

A useful weapon, but extremely dangerous to deploy against properly used armored vehicles. One of the crucial pieces of armored vehicle doctrine (and not widely understood by most) is that in any areas other than pure, flat open desert, an armored column must be accompanied by dismounted infantry to protect the relatively blind sides and back of the vehicles from just this sort of "run up and attack" sort of thing. I had an opportunity to drive a Sherman tank for a few miles around a woodland track, and even in the "head up" seat position, nothing to the sides more rearward of your front corners can be seen by the driver. The tank commander in head out position can see better, but cannot bring much firepower to bear very quickly to the sides and rear. In "buttoned up" configuration (hatches closed), you are nearly blind to attacks from sides and rear, and a couple of brave souls with gasoline bombs or satchel explosives can destroy an armored vehicle. It seems that most of the Russian columns have no dismounted infantry protecting them. So, perhaps these gasoline bombs will be use effectively. Good luck to the defenders against the invaders.

As Hitler-level evil as Putin is, he has avoided mass civilian casualty attacks -- so far at least. When the Ukrainian government armed untrained and un-uniformed civilians, and instructed them to do guerilla warfare tactics (like Molotov cocktails), that is all the "justification" that the Russians will need to attack all civilians as "enemy combatants" if things start to go badly for their invasion. Leveling cities with carpet bombs and massive missiles, as well as "shoot to kill" orders for all civilians, are not beyond the mindset of Putin.

The retreat of the United States and her allies before the Chinese-backed Taliban in Afghanistan and the failure of the West’s feeble attempts at diplomacy in the face of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine share a sinister aetiology that has attracted remarkably little attention. A relentless, targeted campaign of desinformatsiya – systematic reputational destruction or “unpersoning” by Communist front groups posing as environmental campaign entities but in reality fostered, funded and too often founded by Moscow and Beijing – has all but silenced thousands of skeptical climate researchers who had formerly been able to debate the climate

It's been almost two years since the summer of violent Black Lives Matter insurrections and cop-hating crusades. The actions of that summer inflicted $2 billion in property damage in 220 American cities, killed scores of people, and spiked record homicide rates in a dozen municipalities run by Democrat politicians and supporters. This unprecedented eruption of hatred and violence was fueled by a racial hoax claiming that there was an "open season" on black lives, despite the fact that there is no evidence to support this claim, whether statistical or circumstantial. Apart from affirmative action, which was given a pass by the Supreme Court, and despite the

Vladimir Putin’s inflammatory speech, in which he set out his aim to reconstitute the Russian empire and blamed Lenin for its demise, and his decision to back this up with a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, signals the return of geopolitics. Until now, Western leaders have been saying that the biggest threat to the world is climate change. Now comes Putin armed with nuclear weapons, tanks, and thousands of troops declaring his intent to overthrow Europe’s post-Cold War order. The dilemma for the West: you can’t win a geopolitical conflict lasting years or decades with an economy powered intermittently by wind turbines and solar panels.

Russian troops are advancing briskly into Ukraine. Vladimir Putin has brushed off Old Joe Biden’s sanctions and made it abundantly clear that he is not afraid of Biden, as Democrat operatives and their propaganda arm, the establishment media, have long insisted. This is what happens when America has a feeble president, an obvious figurehead, and our military is compromised by Leftist ideologues. Clearly Putin is taking advantage of Biden’s obvious weakness and the decimation of our Armed Forces by wokeness and Covid hysteria. He knows that there is little likelihood that Biden will touch off World War III by

Fears over over Vladimir Putin’s threatened invasion of Ukraine continue to grow despite the fact that the effort would burst both Russia’s military and economy, not to mention ruining its foreign relations. Swallowing a poison pawn makes so little sense that UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson says Russia’s Putin may be “irrational,” unable to act in his own best interests. Yet it is not only the Kremlin’s behavior that has a bizarre feel to it. Despite decrying the seriousness of the situation, Western governments aren’t obviously readying for a European conflict. Instead they are focusing on masks, mandates and invoking war powers

"Freedom," warned the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, which is funded by the Trudeau government, is a word that has "become common among far-right groups." To prove its point, the CBC quoted Elisabeth Anker, a George Washington University prof, who claimed that freedom is a "slippery concept" and that those on the right want "violent" freedoms that reject being "bound by norms of equality" or "norms to remedy inequality." On, in other words, freedom from state coercion to create the ideal society of the state. Anker wrote a book titled Ugly Freedoms which argues that "individual liberty has always been entangled with white supremacy, settler colonialism, climate destruction, economic exploitation, and patriarchy.”

President Biden will promote a new “988” crisis hotline and outline funding to combat the harmful effects of social media when he devotes a portion of his State of the Union Address to the “unprecedented mental health crisis” in the country, the White House said. The three-digit hotline is available in some parts of the country, but a July launch will make it available nationwide as part of an interconnected network of local crisis centers that can respond to calls and texts. Mr. Biden plans to propose nearly $700 million in funding in his fiscal 2023 budget to “staff up and shore up” local crisis centers.

I’m having a problem using the president’s formal title and name together. It’s not a matter of Republican disrespect for a Democrat. I referred to both Barack Obama and Bill Clinton by their presidential titles. It’s a matter of legitimacy. Over half of all Americans now believe that fraud affected the outcome of the last Presidential election. The Arizona election audit didn’t prove that the Donald won, as many hoped. But it did prove that we don’t really know who won that state. Given the election shenanigans around the country in November 2020, there is certainly justification to question the outcome.
