In June 2019, a jury found in favor of the Gibson family, awarding $43 million in damages for Oberlin College defaming the owner of Gibson’s Bakery and his family. The total award was reduced to $25 million because state law limits punitive damages; however, in July 2019 the court ordered Oberlin College to pay an additional $6.5 million as reimbursement for Gibson’s attorney fees and other legal expenses. The school has appealed but the court required it to post a bond while the appeals. The case remains under consideration by an Ohio appellate court. David Gibson, co-owner of Gibson’s Bakery, succumbed to pancreatic cancer on November 19, 2019 at the age of 65. Extending heartfelt sympathy to the Gibson family. “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.” (Psalm 34:19)

And Oberlin still hasn't written that check. At this speed, the Gibson family members who will collect that check haven't been born yet.

It was just a casual, throwaway description. Last September, the New York Times reported on a series of daring operations by Ukrainian special forces to evacuate civilians from Afghanistan. U.S. troops had left Kabul, and the Taliban had taken complete control. “Enter Ukraine,” the article read, “a small but battle-hardened nation.”(Snip)... Americans would pass over that word: small.(Snip)This is a big problem. Ukraine is the largest country by territory within the European continent. Its population is roughly the size of Spain’s. Take even a cursory look at any map--Ukraine is anything but small.

Dear Brothers and Sisters Canadian truck drivers, The global coup that in these two years of psycho-pandemic farce has been carried out by the globalist elite appears most clearly if we do not limit ourselves to considering what happened in individual Nations, but broaden our gaze to what has happened everywhere. Your protest, dear Canadian truck driver friends, joins a worldwide chorus that wants to oppose the establishment of the New World Order on the rubble of nation states, through the Great Reset desired by the World Economic Forum and by the United Nations under the name of Agenda 2030.

I recently spoke at a gathering for medical freedom advocates in a little community center in the Hudson River Valley. I cherish this group of activists: they had steadfastly continued to gather throughout the depths of the “lockdown,” that evil time in history--an evil time not yet behind us--and they kept on gathering in human spaces, undaunted. And by joining their relaxed pot-luck dinners around unidentifiable but delicious salads and chewy homemade breads, I was able to continue to remember what it meant to be part of a sane human community.

This discussion on the special “Second Opinion” panel that Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) hosted is a perfect example of one of the root problems in the American response to the covid pandemic: The press. Johnson organized world-renowned doctors and medical experts to offer a different perspective on the pandemic: global pandemic response, the current state of knowledge of early and hospital treatment, vaccine efficacy and safety, what went right, what went wrong, what should be done now, and what needs to be addressed long term. The panel discussion was held this Monday, and the 5-hour discussion is via the link HERE.

In a foreshadowing of America’s future under coercive secularism, a Finnish politician and Finnish bishop will go on criminal trial next week for merely upholding historic Christian teaching on sexual morality. The trial is a telling measure of the erosion of Christianity in Europe. Juhana Pohjola, a Lutheran bishop, and Päivi Räsänen, a member of Finland’s Parliament, stand accused of an act increasingly forbidden in the de-Christianized West: quoting the Bible.(Snip)Six Republican members of Congress have called on the U.S. government’s religious commission to condemn Finland for this trial. WASHINGTON – More than 180 U.S. congressional lawmakers sent a letter to Republican congressional leadership to support their commitment to maintain the Hyde Amendment and other protections for the preborn in government spending legislation. In initial spending legislation for 2022, Democrats intentionally removed long-standing protections for the preborn in their bid to fund the government. The Hyde Amendment, the most well-known of these safeguards, which prohibits direct taxpayer funding for most abortions, was replaced with pro-abortion provisions to advance the practice.(Snip)The 181 congressmen insist that in order for any appropriations legislation to pass, all traditional and long-standing protections for preborn life must be retained.

If we’ve learned anything from the inhabitants of Planet Looney Tunes over the last couple of years, it is this: Anything and everything the left doesn’t like is racist, misogynistic, or worse. And by “racist,” we’re talking systemic racism — which is tied to white supremacy and the ridiculous notion that all white people — at birth, solely because of the color of their skin — are inherently racist, and for which, they must atone by living proactively anti-racist lives. And, as if we haven’t laughed at these people enough, they now tell us that eating meat is “all of the above.”

Most “either/or” questions are designed to make you choose, but sometimes the correct answer is “both.” When dealing with someone like President Joe Biden, it’s not always possible to know the answer to a simple question: is this man stupid, or is he just a liar? There is ample evidence of both, almost always, but the exact tilt of a scale and in which direction it points for the majority is not always clear. As such, you are sometimes left wondering which it is, but there is little doubt it is at least one and usually some combination of both. So what has me asking this?

At least 130 congregations have quietly walked away from the United Methodist Church in a schism over the denomination’s planned acceptance of same-sex marriage and homosexual clergy. The breakaway congregations are keeping their church property thanks to a “conscience clause” enacted by the group’s legislative assembly in 2019. The United Methodist Church General Conference, the church’s governing body, is expected this year to approve a separation plan that would create two denominations: one affirming bans on gay clergy and same-sex marriage, and one permitting homosexual clergy and same-sex marriage. That move has been postponed because of the pandemic and might be delayed again.
