An Indian father who froze to death alongside his wife and two children worked as a teacher and farmed his own land before they made the desperate and dangerous journey to cross in the United States from Canada, where they trudged through waist-deep snow in a blizzard for 11 hours. Jagdish Patel, 39 and Vaishailben Patel, 37 were found dead with their children Vihangi, 11 and Dharkmik, three, in a field north of the US border on January 19 as temperatures plummeted to as low as -40F near Manitoba, Canada with blowing snow and poor visibility advisories issued on the night of the four's ill-fated trek last week.

Somehow this poor family managed to scrape together enough money to get to Canada in order to illegally enter another country, and this sob story is supposed to make me think, "Let them come." Sorry, the ones responsible should be found and held accountable, but the guilt is not on the American or even the Canadian people. Somebody promised something to this family that they couldn't/didn't deliver!

If he was a teacher in India and owned enough property to live in plus farm on, why on earth did he quit all that to sneak into the US via Canada anyway?
That just doesn't add up.

FJB and his complicit minions and the alphabets that shout to the world, "Come one, come all, enter as you like, especially our Southern and Northern borders", are enablers of human trafficking. They also enable the cartels to make millions of $$$ by smuggling humans and subjecting them to indentured servitude to the trade of illegal drugs. As such all of them are committing "International Crimes against Humanity" and should be subject to prosecution by the International Court in the Hague. Where are the Race Hustlers we hear on TV about "White Supremacy"? They should be shouting to the rafters about the trade of Black, Brown and other POC due to our open borders. Do the Republicans, when they gain control of both the House and Senate, have the balls to indict FJB, his minions and the alphabets? I'm not holding my breath.

If a family had made it to that glorious socialist utopia of Canada, why would that family want to risk going to a racist hell hole like America? For the publicly educated this is a sarcastic and rhetorical question?

I'm supposed to feel sorry? Nope. I feel anger at the Biden administration for enabling human trafficking with its policies. The blood is on Biden's hands. Biden is hip deep in human trafficking, and it has killed thousands. Why are they doing this? Just to win elections. They don't give a rat's rear end about people.
Any illegal trying to sneak across the border should know by now it's not safe. Northern border, you freeze. Southern border, you roast. By water, you drown. Anyone telling you it's safe is a liar.

They would probably started a 7/11 store, rather than peddle drugs or join gangs.

Guess the coyote gave them lots of nice warm jackets to make the trek. You know they don't have Manitoba-winter-worthy jackets in a place like India.

I think this family was intentionally murdered. There is a lot more to this story than will ever be reported. I wonder if there is a money trail.

I'm sorry for the children who were taken to their deaths by their parents. They had no choice in the matter. I can't work up much sympathy for the parents. If they'd obeyed the law and immigrated legally, all four would still be alive. As far as I'm concerned, their blood is on "Open Borders" Joe's hands.

Do they have weather reports in India? Did this guy ever think to listen to one?
WTH is wrong with someone who takes his family out walking in the snow at a temperature of -40 degrees?
I would not walk to my garage in such conditions.

Makes the idea of going through the process to immigrate legally sound like a good idea. At least the wait won't kill you.

Liberals have made it incredibly easy to cross our borders illegally and take advantage of taxpayer funded social programs that they have zero rights to. These parents are responsible not only for their own deaths but also their children’s. There is no end to the heartwarming (or heartbreaking) stories of immigrants entering the country illegally. There are laws for a reason and they need to be followed.

Daughter lives in Toronto, and there is a large Indian immigrant community there. It makes no sense for that dead family to cross the border.
But then, it makes no sense that we have an Indian-Canadian-Jamaican as Vice President.

Steps away from the American border....but how many miles from shelter and warmth? I suspect they were dumped when they refused to pay a last minute smuggling surcharge.

It is hard to believe that this family from India would chose January to attempt entering the US from Canada. This was unbelievably foolish as well as being illegal. It is hard to get separated when you are walking, but you can get left behind. There seem to be a lot about this story that doesn't make sense.

Governments that allow and even encourage people to live as illegal aliens bear a large share of responsibility for such people dying. We need cheap labor (to depress wages of American citizens), permanent demographic change, and increased burden on the taxpayers at any cost, sometimes which is paid for with human lives.
