'You're about to get a lot more speeding
tickets!' Critics slam 'Pothole Pete'
Buttigieg's plan to fix the nation's roads
crisis with MORE speed cameras and lower
speed limits that will guarantee fines
for drivers

Pete Buttigieg's plan to add more speed cameras to America's roads as a way patrolling them more 'fairly' has been panned by critics who say it will only lead to more speeding fines under the guise of equity and road safety. Buttigieg announced the plan yesterday and claims it will reduce the number of deadly road collisions. The highway plan is receiving some $17billion from Biden's $1.2trillion infrastructure bill, which will be used in part to pay for the cameras.(Snip)'When the country applauded $1.2 trillion going to fixing the roads, bridges and buildings, a lot of us were dumb enough to think that's what might actually happen,'

Comments:

Pothole Pete? I thought he was Mayor Buttplug, or Mayor Buttblaster, the little rat who could. Americans rally around more surveillance and behavioral enforcement because a handful of connected companies, all with massive stock purchases by US Congress members just before this was announced, will make a fortune. Those who are willing to trade freedom for equity deserve neither freedom nor anything else but their chains.

More people than ever are getting shot and killed all over the country because of the defund the police efforts of the dims yet they are worried about speeding on the highways. These people really are stupid and unfortunately that's not fixable.

Many are hoping that Pete's nail polish has tried by now. His husband/wife, Chasten, should know. The question circling Washington, DC is whether Pete will take another 2 month paternity leave to assist Chasten. What's next, Pete? Speed bumps every 100 yards on highways?

Studies show that slow drivers cause more highway accidents than speeders, particularly when they camp in the passing lane and force others to maneuver around them. That's of no concern when there's more money to be extracted from the human resources that comprise the USA.

It sounds like they will spend our tax money on just about anything but fixing roads and bridges. You know, the actual "infrastructure". The rruth is, if they fix the right stuff, we will keep driving and polluting, and they really want us on public transportation and out of personal vehicles.

From what they have been doing, you can’t put it past Biden and Buttigieg to lower the speed limits on the Interstate Highways back to 55 miles per hour just as Carter did during his time in the White House. That would slow down all the long haul truckers further sabotaging the supply chain and the economy.

Red light cameras have been banned in Houston, Texas, because of their manifest unpopularity, which translates into no support for any politician that imposes them. As for Buttegg, red light cameras are a local issue, not any of the federal government's dam business. Furthermore, and I feel strongly about this and the JA's in our federal government, we have funded infrastructure every year, and you have not spent any of the money on infrastructure, instead wasting it on foreign wars for your personal enrichment and vanity, as the elite want an important job with power, instead of getting a job with a cereal making company, or some other productive job in the private sector. My sentiments for the federal government are negative, having begun my career declining their we want you overtures to die in Vietnam, and the relationship has not gotten any better, or their offers or compulsory orders of any more benefit to me.

- Red light cameras cause 2-3 times more rear-end collisions, how many will speed traps cameras will cause? - Cameras only show that the car violated the law, courts say that is not proof the registered drivers did. This means the violations are not attached to a person’s driving record, no added points. - Judges often dismiss the ticket if the picture of the driver is not clear. Wearing a mask while driving finally makes sense.

Here's an unintended consequence of traffic cameras that I shared when I taught Traffic School in CA. The photos taken of the speeding driver show the driver and the person in the front seat next to the driver. This could prove to be embarrassing or worse, if the person in the passenger seat is the husband's girlfriend or boyfriend (it is CA). It could cause all sorts of problems that the govt. didn't foresee. Lawsuits, anyone?

Texas has almost seven hundred thousand miles of farm-to-market roads, many with 70 mph speed limits. In the center of the state, the toll road running between Georgetown and San Antonio has a posted speed limit of 85 mph. I don't see the Texas or Texans ( organic or imports) going back to a nationally mandated 55 mph speed limit any more than I see Texans happily giving up their internal combustion engines all because a bunch of queens in DC say so.

How many "Infrastructure" laws have Demonrats passed under emotional hissy-fits only to have that money be diverted into the pockets of leftist organizations who do nothing for roads and bridges. In fact, that money invariably is given to organizations with a long history of making heavy donations to Demonrat politicians and the DNC, while also paying large salaries to executives in their ranks who rotate through the revolving door of the Federal government Civil Service Executive ranks like fry cooks at McDonalds and Burger King. It's time to STOP this Federal largesse and States to own their problems and fix them by themselves. In many if not most places or highways in Europe you pass in the passing lane and then you promptly move back into the regular lane and get our of the way of faster cars moving along in the passing lane. And most people in Europe obey and courteously agree to those rules. Not so much in The USA. The rule here seems to be "this is my lane and I'm sticking to it. You're driving too dang fast. The bribery scheme included an alleged plan to remove permit violations on a squalid flop house owned by Pelosi Jr.’s girlfriend.(Snip)San Francisco permit expediter Rodrigo Santos, a former president of the San Francisco Building Inspection Commission, was indicted for fraud in November.

Guns, guns, and more guns. These days the complexity of gun ownership in this country is just that, complex. To me, the Second Amendment is pretty straightforward. The question I have is when is it appropriate to get the gun out? When is the right time? Is it the right time to shoot a dog during a dog fight, or if a dog attacks you? A video from Oregon today shows a man who guns down his neighbors’ pitbull after it came running towards him in his front yard.

Rep. Greg Murphy (R-NC) told Breitbart News on Friday that the GOP Doctors Caucus is “infuriated” that the Biden administration and Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the president’s top medical adviser, have “been all about vaccination” and not therapeutics in their response to the coronavirus outbreak.“We’re not going to vaccinate our way out of it,” Murphy, a urologist, said on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow. He said, “I’m a vice chair of the GOP Doctors Caucus. We are infuriated — infuriated — that this has all been about vaccination. Fauci has been, ‘Vaccination, vaccination, vaccination,’ rather than therapeutics.”

Months after Stephen Hayes quit Fox News over Tucker Carlson’s conspiratorial rhetoric about the Jan. 6 riots, the conservative author and pundit has landed at NBC News. “I’ve known and worked with Steve Hayes on and off for nearly 25 years,” Meet the Press anchor Chuck Todd said in a Friday morning statement announcing Hayes’ new role as a network contributor. “He is a principled reporter and analyst who always puts truth and facts above emotion and sentiment.” Hayes was a Fox News contributor for 12 years and was once a writer for the now-defunct Weekly Standard before co-founding The Dispatch, a center-right website offering an anti-Trump alternative for conservative audiences.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to hold talks with Germany, France and Ukraine as NATO fails to take action on the rising conflict in Easter Europe and President Joe Biden's announcement on Friday that he would deploy troops 'in the near term' without backing from NATO. The blow to NATO and exclusion of America in negotiation talks on the Russian-Ukraine crisis came after Putin accused the U.S. and NATO of ignoring the Kremlin's 'fundamental concerns' over NATO's growth during a call with French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday.(Snip)Although the scheduled talks between the European nations raises hopes for peace, it undermines America's involvement by excluding the U.S.

One of the main tenants for a stable and law-abiding society is a judicial system that enforces laws and ensures equal justice for all.The reverse is true in progressive cities, resulting in an increase in crime. Various government organizations, even all the way up to the Department of Justice, have gone astray. Social justice warriors are now in positions in the DOJ to implement “racial justice”, which determines how to prosecute cases based on the race and/or social justice cause, not commensurate with the crimes committed.A perfect example can be seen in a murder committed by a BLM arsonist.

A Joe Biden voter explained why he became "disgusted" with the president's administration and raised concerns about the direction the Democratic Party is headed. "A year in and I'm disgusted with them both. I'm disgusted with [Vice President] Kamala Harris and Joe Biden," Isaiah Carter, a New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) worker and member of the Democratic Party, told Fox News. Carter listed critical race theory and the Afghanistan withdrawal as key issues he has with Biden. He also faulted the president's COVID-19 policies and his propagating of gender ideology issues, especially among school-age children, by the administration. Carter has voted Democrat in the past four presidential elections
To Win, Trump Should Clean House First 24 replies

At a critical point in the 1980 campaign, Ronald Reagan had enough and cleaned house of his senior political advisors including campaign manager John Sears. One staffer would later recall, “Ronald Reagan would not have come so close in 1976 had he not hired John Sears; and Ronald Reagan would not have won the GOP nomination had he not fired John Sears in 1980.” As it does on so many occasions, history repeats itself. Like Reagan before him, Donald Trump now must clean house if he hopes to make a serious political comeback. Trump’s 2016 win was mostly of his own doing. Being the outsider candidate that he was,

By all appearances, the Democrat Party is going to be delivered a beatdown of historic proportions in the 2022 midterm elections the likes of which haven’t been seen since at least the 2010 election.Or that should be the case, at least. With the prize seemingly there for the taking, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is reportedly seeking advice from “the grandfather of House Republicans,” Newt Gingrich, who engineered the 1994 Republican Revolution with the Contract with America, taking back control of the House after a 40-year drought. From 1933 until 1995, Republicans controlled both the House and Senate for only four years.

Getting old is neither easy nor fun. It’s part of life, and it’s a challenge we all must face. One key aspect of that challenge is being able to stay current. We must strive to not only understand the changes affecting our families, our individual health, and our own spheres of influence, but we must also work to grasp the realities of an ever-changing society. Neil Young is a 76-year-old singer/songwriter and, based on his sparse musical output over the past few decades, his recent focus has not been on producing compelling, appealing music. And after what we witnessed this week, it’s also safe to say that Mr. Young

New Yorkers have plenty of reservations—about going out to eat. Table bookings in Manhattan restaurants are down 64% in January 2022 compared to pre-pandemic January 2020–only San Francisco (-66%) and Cambridge, Mass. (-75%) have fared worse, according to new data released by OpenTable and crunched by celebrity statistician Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight.com. Brooklyn boites are starved for diners, too, with reservations down 55%. Data for the other boroughs were not available. “It’s a ghost town out there,” one Little Italy restaurant manager told The Post, citing the failure of city officials to contain crime and chaos, which drives away both tourists and local diners.

For more than 50 years, ever since the day I saw Dirty Harry on the big screen, I’ve been a movie fanatic — every kind of movie, all sorts of movies… Today, not so much. In pursuit of political purity, movies have lost their artistry. Characters are identities rather than complicated individuals, themes have been twisted into lectures, and the desire to entertain and enlighten replaced with the desire to preen, divide, and insult. Hollywood no longer wants us coming together to share a universal experience. Instead, Hollywood wants to pervert our children with gay porn and transsexual voodoo, wants us to cheer our own virtue and judge the other fella based on
