For the first time in my life, I have a strong feeling that the infanticidal regime established by Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton and reinforced by a bevy of stupid and strictly results-oriented decisions might be on the verge of repudiation by a clear majority of the Supreme Court. There are two major abortion cases before the Supreme Court. One case, arising from Mississippi and called Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, bans abortion after the 15th week for all intents and purposes. The law has been in litigation since enacted, but six justices seemed

#5, Something is wrong alright, but it is not with their brains. It’s a soul thing. They want to usurp the authority of the God they deny to rule over and control the rest of us. Until we understand their core motivation, we cannot deal with them efficiently. This is much more than a political battle although it is being fought on that level. This is a battle of good versus evil that transcends politics. It goes to the very core of who we are as people. The delineation could not be clearer. We have believers versus non-believers and they have two very different outlooks on life. Throughout history the battle has been waging but every now and then it flares up and we have a real concerted effort by the Godless to crush believers in God and today the Judeo-Christian ethos upon which this country was founded. This time around, they are well prepared and determined to win. They use their brains but what motivates them is the pure evil that controls their souls.

I believe the justices disclosed scant information during the Dobbs v. Jackson oral arguments, including suggestion that repeal of Roe v. Wade was in contemplation. It's probable that the Court's majority opinion will be primarily focused on whether Mississippi's prohibitions on elective abortions are unconstitutional. The standards in Roe in combination with Casey v. Planned Parenthood Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania, will be refined into a new standard. It's probable that the Court's majority opinion will not repeal Roe v, Wade, but the Cour's reasoning in the majority opinion, when applied to Texas, will in effect result that Texas' fetal heartbeat statute is unconstitutional.

Even if SCOTUS upholds both the Texas and Mississippi laws, abortion up to the time of birth will still be available in various liberal states. I remember in the days before Roe v. Wade, there was a regular caravan from my state to a neighboring state with liberal abortion laws. There were an infinite number of activists who were willing to drive women there and back. I doubt overturning (or trimming back) Roe v. Wade will have any impact on the number of abortions performed in this country. The truth is that most of the country has accepted abortion in some form with limits like only during the first trimester and making abortion clinics meet day-surgery clinic standards with the doctors having admitting priviledges at local hospitals.

Not 100% confident that our side has this in the bag. But let's hope we can hold on to 5! Like the Dred Scott case it's time for "Roe" to be overruled. That being said, it will only mean that abortion is no longer a Federal constitutional right. However, abortion will remain in effect in about 23 states. We're already a divided country so let it rip!

No way the racist, sexist Latinex know a thing about the Roe decision. First, Chief Just-Us Roberts would never strike down an unconstitutional Supreme Joke decision. There is one thing Roberts loathes more than Trump and that is the Constitution. So the decision isn't gonna harm Roe. This is the first public signs of early onset of dementia. She is losing her social filters which is the first to go. And given her history of diabetes she is probably suffering from mini infarcts to her peas sized brain.

A fun leftover from yesterday and our latest entry in the Someone Left The Irony On Department. With brinksmanship escalating between the US, the European Union, and Ukraine, CNN’s John Berman asks a solid question: why should Americans care about the fate of this country on the eastern edge of Europe? Jonathan Finer, deputy national security adviser to Joe Biden, says we should be all about enforcing border security and recognizing national sovereignty. Er .. who wants to tell him?

The coming midterm elections are not looking good for Democrats. In fact, short of some kind of divine intervention, Joe Biden’s party is going to get absolutely boat-raced. It could stack up to be a wave election that makes 2010 look like child’s play, and I don’t say that lightly. In the midst of that hostile environment, numerous Democrat incumbents have announced their retirements, which is usually a sure-fire sign of coming doom. You may recall all the articles from 2018 noting how Republican retirements were a very bad sign. Indeed, they did precede a blue wave, and the reverse is now occurring in 2022. Just how bad are things?

New York’s indoor mask mandate for schools and other public locations will remain in effect after an appeals court judge granted a stay on Tuesday, temporarily blocking a ruling from a lower court that struck down the mandate one day earlier. Justice Robert Miller’s ruling on Tuesday effectively allows the mask requirement to temporarily go back into effect while the state files a formal appeal of the Monday ruling. Another hearing is scheduled on the mask mandate for Friday morning. “As Governor, my top priority is protecting the people of this state. Following the fatal shooting of a police officer in Manhattan last week, Mayor Eric Adams on Monday unveiled his new strategy to combat rising gun violence in New York City, starting with the deployment of an anti-gun crime unit next month. “We will not surrender our city to the violent few,” Adams said. The city will launch a reinvented version of the plainclothes anti-crime unit, which was disbanded amid the civil unrest prompted by the murder of George Floyd, to emphasize fostering community trust in law enforcement rather than the aggressive crime-fighting tactics that had provoked protest from Black Lives Matter.

A New York State Supreme Court judge on Monday ruled that Governor Kathy Hochul’s mask mandate for schools and other public locations is unconstitutional. Washington—Republicans’ faith in science is falling as Democrats rely on it even more, with a trust gap in science and medicine widening substantially during the COVID-19 pandemic, new survey data shows. It’s the largest gap in nearly five decades of polling by the General Social Survey, a widely respected trend survey conducted by NORC at the University of Chicago that has been measuring confidence in institutions since 1972. That is unsurprising to more than a dozen scientists reached for comment by The Associated Press, but it concerns many of them.
