Arnold Schwarzenegger was involved in a car crash on Friday afternoon in Los Angeles that involved four vehicles and left his enormous black SUV perched on top of another car, leaving one other driver with a head injury. The former governor, 74, was driving his GMC Yukon SUV and was about to turn onto busy Sunset Boulevard, about half-a-mile from his home in the Brentwood, when he smashed into a red Toyota Prius at 4:35pm. The Prius was said to have been making a U-turn in the road when the collision occurred. The impact of the crash was so severe that the Prius' airbags deployed

Good photo op for superior SUV driver protection over an inferior EV. If I get involved in a car crash, I’d want to be in a tank. GMC should produce a line of SUVs named TERMINATOR.

"Police told TMZ that Schwarzenegger was "making a left turn while the arrow for a left turn was still red". He was not ticketed by police and uninjured in the crash. " Usually, when I'm "making a left turn while the arrow for a left turn was still red", I'm at rest. So.. Yes, it's a large vehicle. A monster SUV? I think not. It's not jacked up with huge tires, but I guess to the British, anything larger than Mini is huge. I feel for the owner of the Porsche, but how close were they following Schwarzengger to be almost under his back bumper? As for the Prius. No great loss.

So, take another look at these pictures... Smallest GMC Yukan has a Base Curb Weight of 5633 lbs. https://media.gm.com/media/us/en/gmc/vehicles/yukon_yukon_xl/2021.tab1.html A Prius making a right hand turn, a low speed maneuver, arrives in the wrong lane with enough velocity to drive under the Yukan to the front wheel well, and drive the SUV backwards "normal following distance" into the front of the vehicle behind. What question does that bring to mind? Was it attempted murder?

It looks like the Prius drove right under the Yukon, which would be very strange, but I suppose Arnold could have been out in the intersection and the force of the crash pushed both of them back into the lane and into the Porsche (not a Cayenne). That’s what insurance is for, but if I were the Prius owner, I’d probably sue.

It's the Daily Mail, a propaganda scandal sheet. The SUV IS enormous...by UK standards. They drive around in motorized skateboards so anything bigger than a Honda Fit is gargantuan. Only in the UK is a Yukon a "monster SUV". I rented a Jag F-PACE the last time we were in England, and while it is about a medium sized vehicle here, it was pretty large for their little munchkin/elven roads. Re #29, online sources report that Arnold is over six feet tall, most say 6'2". Frequently they exaggerate a bit for movie stars. Like Kurt Russell is listed at 5' 11" online and if he reaches over 5' 8" I'll be quite surprised. Goldie is listed at 5'6" and that may be exaggerated an inch or two, also. Look at photos of Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell side by side, he "towers" about 2", or maybe 3" at most, over her, and my bet is that she isn't actually 5'6", more like 5'4-5'5", which would make Russell 5'6" to 5'8", which I think is about right. Russel has always been a little guy, and never anywhere near 5'11". My bet is that Arnold is somewhere between 5'11" and 6', and they claim an extra 2-3" ...., which is pretty typical in Hollywierd.

Not riding a bicycle around town, or walking? What a hypocrite, and of course, always a total buffoon. From the Schwarzenegger Institute: https://www.schwarzeneggerclimateinitiative.com/about "Arnold Schwarzenegger has been fighting pollution and climate change for nearly 20 years. His approach has always centered around the idea that we need "less talk, more action". During his tenure as Governor of California he worked to pass the Global Warming Solutions Act to cut emissions to 1990 levels by 2020, the Low Carbon Fuel Standard, the Million Solar Roofs Initiative. He also worked with President Obama to create a national automotive emissions standard based on California’s regulations . . . " (there's more of this BS on the website)

In 1964, the Supreme Court issued a “landmark” decision in New York Times vs. Sullivan, which established the very high bar of requiring the smeared plaintiff to prove there was “actual malice” on the part of the media outlet. Now The Times is exploiting that standard again in the feisty First Amendment test brought by Sarah Palin. In 2016, Donald Trump pulled off an extraordinary political feat only he could have achieved. As the army of highly compensated professional political consultants in Washington, D.C., watched aghast, Trump single-handedly wrested the Republican nomination from the grip of a GOP establishment that had long enjoyed complete control of national and state party hierarchies, fundraising structures, and think tanks that determine policy priorities. As Trump’s rogue campaign trounced establishment candidates in state after state in the GOP primaries—despite the unified opposition of Conservatism, Inc.—he not only defeated that establishment’s lockstep institutional opposition, he defeated their agenda
