He just threw Kiev under the bus, and gave Putin the green light. They are already reacting to this terrible speech by saying this very thing.

Traitor Joe is an idiot, always has been. Putin is an evil man playing on the world stage like it was a chess game. Death of hundreds or thousands of people mean literally nothing to him. He is busy reassembling Humpty Soviet Union, using "all the czar's tanks and all the czar's men" to put Humpty back together again.

As the Omicron variant rips across the U.S., in early January almost 9 million Americans said they were not working because they had COVID-19 or were caring for someone with the virus — triple the number from a month ago. The surge in sick workers is impacting industries ranging from hospitals to airlines, adding to the nation's labor crunch. The "great American sickout," as some have called it, is taking a toll on many businesses and households, with people again forced to scale back work as the disease spreads. Weekly jobless claims, an indicator of layoffs, jumped last week to their

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki has clarified the White House’s stance on a potential invasion of Ukraine by Russia after President Joe Biden made an odd remark about the situation. Russia has amassed soldiers along Ukraine’s eastern border, and there is concern about a repeat of 2014 when Russia annexed Ukraine’s Crimea by force. (Snip) In response, one Ukrainian official told CNN he was “shocked that… Biden would distinguish between incursion and invasion.” Republicans also criticized the remark. Eventually, Psaki issued a statement later on Wednesday clarifying the administration’s position: President Biden has been clear with the Russian President

Reps. Jim Langevin of Rhode Island and Jerry McNerney of California mark the 27th and 28th House Democrats not running for reelection in 2022 as analysts expect a favorable year for Republicans. Both members announced their retirements on Tuesday. “I will keep working for the people of my district throughout the remainder of my term and look forward to new opportunities to continue to serve,” McNerney, 70, said in a tweet. McNerney has represented California in Congress since 2007, in the 9th District since 2013 and in the old 11th District before that. Langevin, 57, wrote a Providence Journal op-ed

New York - President Joe Biden's 2022 is off to a dreadful start. Prices at the pump could make it even worse. Crude oil has already zoomed back to two-month highs. Gasoline prices, which move with a lag, have stopped their muted decline. And they're starting to creep higher again. The energy resurgence is only going to add to the economic anxiety gripping the United States and sinking Biden's poll numbers. "This is a terrible situation. Gas prices are in this political danger zone," Helima Croft, head of global commodity strategy at RBC Capital Markets, told CNN. The White House knows

Over the past three years, dozens of cities across the country have banned natural gas hookups in newly constructed buildings as part of a growing campaign to reduce carbon emissions from homes. The movement scored a major victory last month, when New York City’s outgoing Mayor Bill de Blasio signed into law a ban on gas hookups in new buildings. Though new laws apply to the entire home, the policy debate often focuses on one room in particular: the kitchen. Gas stoves account for a relatively small share of the emissions released by a typical household, but they’ve become a

Speculation has begun about the 2024 Democratic presidential ticket, almost three years before the election. Some of the suggestions are blasted as risible. But the early chatter itself reveals the nervousness that permeates the party. In the past week alone, New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman held out the possibility of anti-Trump Republican Rep. Liz Cheney (Wyo.) being added as President Biden’s 2024 running mate. (Snip) Straddling the line between reality and fantasy is a long-cherished notion for many Democrats: a Michelle Obama candidacy. New York - Americans shopped less in December, causing the first drop in retail sales since the summer. Sales dropped 1.9% compared with November, adjusted for seasonal swings, the Census Bureau reported Friday. The decline in sales coincided with the surge in Covid cases due to the highly infectious Omicron variant. In July, the last time sales dropped, it was on the back of cases rising due to the Delta variant. Restaurants and bars registered a 0.8% decline in sales in December as people stayed home to protect themselves against the virus, for example. But there was more at play than

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden is planning to sign executive actions on police reform as early as this month, three people familiar with the plans said, as his administration seeks to unilaterally jumpstart an issue that’s a top priority for a key constituency. The executive actions would follow Biden’s uphill battle to advance voting rights legislation, and could coincide with a similar effort by some Democratic lawmakers to revive the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, which stalled on Capitol Hill after failed attempts to craft a bipartisan measure. The focus on police reforms is part of what appears to

I’m not sure what Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) thought he was going to get by pushing a vote on the Democratic effort to federalize elections (which they call ‘voting rights’) and on the filibuster. Schumer knew that he was likely to get a “no” on the filibuster from Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ). They’ve only been holding fast on the subject for months. Both also were very firm on the subject in speeches — Sinema earlier in the week and Manchin earlier on Wednesday. It wasn’t happening, they said. But Schumer decided to commit electoral suicide anyway, and he got it tonight.
