Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg appeared with Rev. Al Sharpton Saturday at the National Action Network Rally in New York to talk about his plans to reduce incarceration through lowered prison sentences and fewer arrests.
"We said we were going to marry fairness and safety, and we laid out a specific plan," Bragg declared. "We put it on the website. We put it in print. And this week, after Jan. 1, we got down to work, and we are doing what we said we would do."
"We know that our first civil right is the right to walk safely to our corner store.

To which of Dante's Circles will NYC progress the fastest? NYC will become a third-world cesspool faster than a speeding bullet, from a gun that is. Welcome to the "New" Normal, NYC in chaos. NYCers, you are getting what you voted for. Congratulations. Just stay out of Florida.

Kiss whatever tourism that's left good-bye! Here's come's the crime infested NYC of the 1980's again.
You get what you vote for and it will probably hit the minority neighborhoods the most and I'll bet they overwhelmingly voted for the jerk!

of course comrade Alvin Bragg doesn't " ... understand the pushback' to lighter punishment for violent criminals" because .... anyone who has a pre-determined decision on any issue cannot and will not understand the counter argument to any issue. communists are like that - they will not understand or perceive to understand anything that is not their thoughts, opinions, ideas etc. and Captain America Eric Adams isn't going to do anything to change this DA's modus operandi

Proof #87,256,447 that there is not a lie-beral alive today that is capable of comprehending logic, reason, or facts!!!!
All they understand is feelings, and like everywhere where lie-beral government officials go soft on crime because it feels like the right thing to do, reality is going to bite them on the derrieres very quickly. Of course, it won't directly affect them, since they have armed security and live in gated communities. But all the peasants walking to those corner stores are quickly going to be victims of this lie-beral insanity!!!!!
And in 6 months from now, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and "Rev." Al Sharpton will be claiming that the massive increase in crime and violence are the result of more white racism, and not their insane move to allow more criminals to commit crimes with very little consequences!!!

One way to make your statistics look better is to reclassify felonies to misdemeanors. Crime problem solved!

Perhaps you will understand when some violent felon that you released thanks you by assaulting, killing or raping a member of your family.

With prosecutors like Alvin Bragg the state no longer needs a legislature to enact laws, judges to oversee trials and sentence criminals, nor jurors to pass judgement. Just Alvin and his kind to be dictators.

This bonehead DA is far dumber than he looks. Any sympathy NYC might have had is undeserved.

What’s so sad is, we made these tragic mistakes before and within my lifetime. All of this was done before from mid-sixties till Giuliani. All of those policies turned NYC into a hell hole. It turned around miraculously fast when those policies were replaced. Yet less than 30 years later we throw it all away? Heartbreaking

2)As an ex-NYer living in a Red City/State I'll enjoy watching the fools suffer for him.

Escape from New York and L.A. seem very likely scenarios the way things are going. We need to start building some walls around them soon!

It is amazing how stupid this guy is. This moron thinks he can reduce crime by flooding the streets with criminals. The people of NYC deserve everything they are about to get. They elected this clown. Have a miserable day.

Somehow I just don't think he is talking about the victims of his community's violence. He wants a free pass for all the crime committing blacks, and he wants their safety. The regular citizens are on their own. But hey, they voted for it.

OF COURSE he, “…doesn’t understand it.” Violent criminality is a feature of the subculture in which he was RAISED. Him and Sharpton think violent crime is an expression of their people’s identity, they don’t consider strong-arm robbery, sexual assault, burglary or grand theft anything but a manifestation of an identity, “thing,” that the employed, law-abiding, nuclear-family-raised can’t understand.

Wow, he somehow claims that that he is "for safety" and that he wants to be "good and fair". He ran on a platform of "lowering incarceration", so the voters should have known what the voted for.
Enjoy the accelerating bloodbath, NYC. It's apparently what you asked for. I am really glad to live far, far away.
