Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky said Friday there is a good chance that the U.S. will follow the "ice-pick"-shaped curve of South Africa's omicron surge of the COVID variant, but cautioned that it could roll through different parts of the country at various times, as previous waves have. "I do think in places that we are seeing this really steep incline, that we may well see also a precipitous decline, but we're also a much bigger country than South Africa," Walensky said in a briefing with reporters.

And does this CDC person, who has lied to us so often, see this as a bad thing? Are they going to cry if we don't have enough fear?

Better mandate more testing. Gotta keep the COVID count high.

You'd think they would make the effort to frame this as 'happy' news. Alas, this new crisis is going to waste, by their estimation.

Uh-oh! Rochelle is going off script. She's not reading from the teleprompter.
Look for a new CDC Director in the very near future.

So a "precipitous decline" still justifies a nationwide mandate for vaccinations, and extreme penalties (loss of job, no entry to restaurants, travel ban, etc.) EXACTLY WHY???

You know, years ago when the Democrats let all the people with mental issues out to roam the streets, who knew they would all end up in Washington D.C.!

I remember that #6. I think Reagan was Prez, but this was Dem forced. Decades of problems have followed because mentally incompetent and dangerously damaged are no different from the public at large. Save for that insidious urge to shove others in front of a train, but who could've foreseen that?

This will never do. You are going to need to trot out the next variant pretty quickly in order to keep the fear ramped up, the schools closed, and keep your thumbs down on America. It's a long time until November, and mail-in ballots are key to rigging the elections.

Precipitous has a negative connotation. Rochelle, who could play the crazy neighbor in a sitcom, is worse than the little beady eyed Fauci.

"It could do A, or it could do B." Nothing but useless 'information'....CDC really has no idea what's going to happen....give it a rest, Rochelle. Poor lady....time to resign to avoid further embarrassment.

The disappearance of the flu in 2020 is an indication that the testing identifies corona viruses but doesn't discriminate amongst them. I would think the only way to positively ID any variant would be using microscopy and there is no way there is time nor money to do that with every test.
Ergo - everything is C19

And when is Psaki going to apologize to the South African reporter she kicked out of the pool for reminding her that South Africa already said it was a weak variant?

COVID is peaking. I read the pandemic will be over in mid February. If they think for one minute that I'm getting a vax after it's gone, they are crazy.

My guess is that we’re going to see a precipitous decline in ALL covid cases now that we’ve pretty much reached herd immunity (which they never talk about any longer).

The virology and epidemiology community have labeled this a "White Hat" virus for the old cowboy movies where the good guys wore white. A normal virus like influenza mutate 2-3% to become less virulent. This they claim is different in that it is missing fragments and have other attachments more benign, like a cold. Did a lab save us from the Chinese and our tyrants?

FTA: And after weeks of confusion and criticism over the latest CDC guidelines on isolation, Walensky also acknowledged that running public health messaging in a pandemic is "hard" and she is "committed" to improving.
I just love this sentence. Public health messaging is hard? It's just like any other authentic messaging.....Gather your independent facts, ensure their veracity and TELL THE TRUTH. And that is where the problem occurs with this beady eyed incompetent and the FJB administration telling the truth.

This China Joe flunky has been a "professor" at Harvard since 2001and hasn't actually looked through a microscope since earning her degree. Like Fauci, she also claimed heterosexual sex could give you AIDS --- despite world-wide stats proving it was impossible.
Don't worry, though. This decrease in flu cases is a minor setback. There are still 11 Greek letters left for more "variants" to hit us between now and the 2022 elections.
BTW --- if you can stand on line for hours waiting for a false positive COVID test & also show an I.D. then you can stand in line to vote!
