A man in black bloc behaving suspiciously near a right-wing rally outside the Pinellas County Courthouse in Florida on Jan. 6 was apprehended by deputies after he tried fleeing on foot. Garrett James Smith, 22, was arrested and found carrying an active pipe bomb, Antifa propaganda and a written document on what to bring for his direct action. He had recently returned from Portland, Ore. Smith was purportedly targeting dozens of the attendees of a rally protesting the treatment of Jan. 6 suspects on the one-year anniversary of the U.S. Capitol riot.

Is this one of those white supremacists the left is always talking about?

Naturally, Smith is from Portland, Oregon. What is he doing in Florida with a live pipe bomb? Put him away forever. It's a good thing he didn't explode the device and kill someone, otherwise he might be looking at the gurney up in Raiford. Execution. No tolerance of terrorists. Locals might want to be there in person for this loser's hearing, and watch him get locked up at 49th Street jail. It's a really nice place to spend, say, eleven months and 29 days. You know the perp is going away when the deputies put on their latex gloves before escorting the criminal to the hoosegow. Andy Ngo, the author, does good work. May he prosper.

Two years ago we would have presumed that the near-bomber was a foreign-born Mohammedan. Now the script has changed with native American Antifa members. I suspect they will soon change their colors from black to something else so that identification will be more difficult.

Suspect is white male, 22, and lives with his parents. FTA: A search of Smith's home he shares with his parents in Oldsmar, Fla. revealed more explosives, tape and nails for use in grenades. Smith’s “direct action” checklist included a drawing of an umbrella, a symbol adopted by Antifa militants for their frequent use of black umbrellas to shield one another from cameras while they commit acts of violence or vandalism. The helmet found in his backpack during his arrest had the Antifa “iron front” symbol painted on it. I wonder if they'll be able to confiscate his parents' home.

Where was he on Jan 6? There were 2 bombs found in D.C. Since the FBI is tracking cell phones and credit cards used in D. C., surely they thought to check travel from Portland and Seattle around 1/6, especially since things were noticeably calmer in those West Coast locations around 1/6/21. Hint to FBI: travel may have been circuitous, stopping at Mom's place to get the laundry done and pick up more cash before joining the fun in D.C.

Tough guy until the shooting starts in his direction. Throw the book at the girly man make him wish he should have never tried to ply his trade in the state of Florida. We might be seeing the beginning of one or two rouges traveling beyond their blue wasted cities to start harming maybe killing people with their terrorist acts. Stay alert this could be a trend in the future not just satisfied to burn their blue cities or destroy property close by. That list was really how organized they are while protected by the FBI Gestapo. One of Brandon's foot soldier street fighters. FJB

When law enforcement touted foiling a months-long kidnapping plot of Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in October 2020 that spanned several states and included encrypted chats and explosives, many believed it was an open-and-shut case. But more than a year later, critics say the arrest and convictions of the lead FBI agent and an FBI confidential informant blurred the line between extremist and confidential informant. Moreover, three planned witnesses have been accused of crimes and won't be testifying in the March 8 trial in Grand Rapids as defense attorneys question the FBI's credibility.

Rooftop solar companies aren’t exactly starting out the new year with the sun shining on their faces. Shares of residential solar companies Sunrun and Sunnova have fallen 19% and 14%, respectively, since the California Public Utilities Commission put subsidies for rooftop solar—known as net metering—on the chopping block in December. The commission plans to vote on Jan. 27 after taking public comments. Florida is also considering legislation that would cut such subsidies. The shock to their share prices isn’t surprising given that the two rooftop solar companies don’t yet generate a profit; their shares trade largely on growth prospects.

The 17-month delay between a search warrant that secured longtime CNN producer John Griffin’s devices in Vermont and an arrest on child trafficking charges shows that feds "don’t give a da-- about these kind of cases," according to a former FBI agent turned whistleblower who has taken the bureau to task for years. California is set to adopt new math teaching principles that are based in critical race theory. These changes, which include deemphasizing calculus and pulling programs for academically gifted students, will "apply social justice principles to math lessons." These guidelines do not instruct educators to teach critical race theory, but rather use critical race theory as a guide for the formation of teaching principles. Critical race theory is not being taught to students, but taught to teachers, who are then meant to use it to formulate their own practices.
