A man was arrested after setting fire to a Christmas tree outside Midtown’s News Corporation building early Wednesday morning, police and sources said. The holiday display was set ablaze shortly after midnight and the flames quickly spread up the tree in Fox Square outside the 6th Avenue building that houses Fox News, The Wall Street Journal and the New York Post.

There are many very sick people out there. Arson is a felony but, this guy will be released without bail. If Fox puts up a new tree he will come back and do it again and they will release him again.

"Fox Square outside the 6th Avenue building that houses Fox News, The Wall Street Journal and the New York Post." I thought Fox News was at 1211 Avenue of the Americas. Technically, NYC does not have a 6th Avenue, so why not get it correct in your story? What else did you get wrong?

Brace yourselves for the spin, have your Dramamine at the ready. This will be a one off nut job a victim of evil capitalism and not at all in any way an agent of the left specifically targeting FOX.

I would think a lot of the homeless get arrested on purpose so they can be inside (in jail) with regular meals.

#3 - Many old school New Yorkers continue to refer to "Avenue of the Americas" as Sixth Ave. I think to show that they are not newcomers to the city or (gasp!) tourists.

A long time ago (50 years) when I worked there, the ATT Long Lines building at 32 6th ave was officially called NYCMNYAA02T. The particular address designation throughout the telephone world. Hence AA. Even then it was Avenue of the Americas.

Some of California's largest school districts are trying an unconventional tactic to help students re-engage in school after distance learning and boost their chances of acceptance into the state's public colleges: by dropping D and F grades. Los Angeles Unified [snip] and other districts are phasing out grades below a C for high school students. The idea is to encourage students to learn the course material and not be derailed by a low grade that could potentially disqualify them from admission to the University of California and California State University.

California is set to adopt new math teaching principles that are based in critical race theory. These changes, which include deemphasizing calculus and pulling programs for academically gifted students, will "apply social justice principles to math lessons." These guidelines do not instruct educators to teach critical race theory, but rather use critical race theory as a guide for the formation of teaching principles. Critical race theory is not being taught to students, but taught to teachers, who are then meant to use it to formulate their own practices.

The Biden administration in just the past year alone stockpiled the records of more than 54 million U.S. gun owners and is poised to drastically alter gun regulations to ensure that information on Americans who own firearms ultimately ends up in the federal government's hands, according to internal Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) documents obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. [snip] The procurement of these records by the ATF comes as the Biden administration moves to alter current laws to ensure that gun records are stored in perpetuity. Currently, gun shops can destroy their records after 20 years, thereby preventing the ATF from accessing the information in the future.

Under Virginia Code 24.2-649.1, only a person with "a disability or who is age 65 or older" can be provided the option to vote curbside, according to Piper.

Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said Wednesday that people might need a fourth Covid-19 shot sooner than expected after preliminary research shows the new omicron variant can undermine protective antibodies generated by the vaccine the company developed with BioNTech. Pfizer and BioNTech released results from an initial lab study Wednesday morning that showed a third shot is effective at fighting the omicron variant, while the initial two-dose vaccination series dropped significantly in its ability to protect against the new strain. However, the two-dose series likely still offers protection against getting severely sick from omicron, the companies said.(Snip)Bourla previously projected that a fourth shot would be needed

DAVIS, Calif. — Banana peels, chicken bones and leftover veggies won't have a place in California trashcans under the nation's largest mandatory residential food waste recycling program that's set to take effect in January. The effort is designed to keep landfills in the most populous U.S. state clear of food waste that damages the atmosphere as it decays. When food scraps and other organic materials break down they emit methane, a greenhouse gas more potent and damaging in the short-term than carbon emissions from fossil fuels. To avoid those emissions, California plans to start converting residents' food waste into compost or

Hillary Clinton lost, and now she needs to move on from the 2016 election. I’m not trying to be cruel or twist the knife. I mean this with all sincerity. She just needs to move on for her own good. The constant reliving of her failed campaign against former President Donald Trump is unhealthy. She’s clearly still upset about it. She’s clearly still angry. But she’ll never recover from her defeat so long as she continues to wallow in it, relentlessly poring over every excruciating detail. She’ll certainly never recover if she continues in both word and deed to define herself by her failed campaign.

Yes, Joe Biden is far and away the worst president in the history of the United States. However, the four-year Trump interlude between Obama and Biden gave the U.S. at least a little resiliency to stand against Biden’s hard-left administration. Imagine how much worse things would have been if Hillary had immediately stepped into Obama’s shoes. America wouldn’t have stood a chance. And lest you forget just what a horrible human being Hillary was, she just gave us a reminder as she spoke with Today’s Willie Geist about her decision to read her “victory speech” aloud for a MasterClass.
