Those Dirty, Racist Electric Vehicles

Original Article

Posted By: RockyTCB, 12/14/2021 5:25:42 AM

When Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg callously remarked recently that Americans would never have to worry about high gasoline prices if they bought electric vehicles, it was a reminder that the ruling class is determined to force the entire nation into EVs. Which is interesting, because electric vehicles are guilty of transgressions that our progressive superiors have identified as mortal sins. “Green” cars are careless polluters and racist, as well. It’s not well known but it is a fact that EVs are dirty. We’ve covered that ground and we’ll get back to it in a moment. For now, though, let’s consider their racist effect.

They want to get rid of fossil fuels, but what they do not realize is that you need coal or natural gas to make electricity. Wind and solar produce 4% of our needs. You don't just flip a switch and voila there is electricity. So, if they get rid of fossil fuels there IS no electricity.

The total lack of rational understanding about the environmental impact of EVs is deplorable. They would produce a significant additional demand for electrical energy production just to charge the batteries. And, the "greens" do not even consider the impact of the toxic byproducts from mining and manufacturing those batteries. Not to mention the size of recharge stations to recharge the batteries compared to gas stations. (15 minute fill-up versus 4 hour recharge equals 16 times bigger recharge station for the same throughput.)

One of the great dangers of a centralized government is that it has the power to make a bad decision for all. One big mistake and we're all doomed. The people making these big decisions don't have the knowledge to grasp the ramifications. For instance to replace the energy we get from coal and oil used for home heating and ground transportation it would take a wind mill every 1,300 ft in every direction over the entire lower 48 states.. We don't have roads that go there, much of that land is covered by water mountains. We don't have a means to distribute power from tens of thousands of small generators. How mush wire would that take and where does the copper come from? One ignorant fool dictating a transition to wind power would destroy us. Decentralized decision making allows for winners and losers and the eventual emergence of winning solutions that don't even see the light of day when big government forces a path on all.

So, I was watching a recently made sci-fi movie about an alien invasion of Earth and one of the scenes featured a family trying to flee their suburban home in an EV. Before they get too far, they have to hit a charging station. While waiting for their "charge" a fight breaks out among the EV owners as they panic because of the wait time and the need to flee the scene. Swap out aliens for a hurricane or other real natural disaster requiring evacuation and you'll get the idea of another of the problems with EVs. And minorities will deal with the "charging deserts" (i.e. lack of charging facilities in their communities) by simply overrunning those in other neighborhoods. And I expect that gun violence will follow... "This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we'll be lucky to live through it." - Fred Thompson, Hunt for Red October greyseal

Electric vehicles aren't "racist," but I think that they are impractical for lower income folks, many of whom live in apartment / high density complexes with only outdoor parking spaces. How are these millions of folks going to charge their EVs???

Go into your car dealership that sells your favorite car with an internal combustion engine. If there is an EV in the showroom then ask two questions. If the internal combustion engine breaks down what is the replacement cost. Then ask if the batteries in the EV die what are their replacement cost? If you choose to junk the EV for the prohibitive cost you still have to pay HazMat people to dispose of the batteries in a designated landfill. I ran into this in the 1980s with large work boat batteries we just dumped in the woods by our facilities. OSHA inspected our plant locating the batteries in the process. By that time I was appointed to deal with it, it was a very expensive shocking cost. Leave the golf carts on the golf course sticking to the internal combustion engine. MAGA

And no mention at all that the entire justification for electric vehicles is a complete and total fabrication. Until the greenie fruitcakes explain the last several dozen periods of global glaciation, each separated by warming periods lasting tens of thousands of years, and most of which were warmer than today's climate, they are just spouting total junk science...no matter how passionately they scream and shout.

Q: what is environmental impact of tons of auto batteries at the end of their lives? Do they end up in landfills? Or will the effort to recycle their nickel, cobalt, and lithium produce even more pollution?

As for charging stations in the 'hoods or barrios, they're not like gas pumps where you fill up as quickly as you can and go. You're gonna be there a while, a sitting target and easy prey for violent criminals out with no bail.

Biden’s Build Back Better Lie Revealed:

President Joe Biden and other Democrats have smugly responded “zero” or “nothing” when asked what the massive Build Back Better plan will ultimately cost. Not to be rude, but this is an outright lie, as a new government analysis clearly shows. “My Build Back Better Agenda costs zero dollars,” Biden tweeted on Sept. 25 from his White House account. “Instead of wasting money on tax breaks, loopholes and tax evasion for big corporations and the wealthy, we can make a once-in-a-generation investment in working America. And it adds zero dollars to the national debt.” In the ensuing weeks, that lie got repeated by others.

There are opinions, announcements and news events that the media hivemind suppresses through news blackouts believing that if a news event is not reported then it is not news, and people will not know, similar to the philosophical conundrum of, if a tree falls in the forest and there is no one around to hear, has it made a noise? One of these taboo topics is hate crime hoaxes, since it jars with the media hivemind’s goal of convincing people, particularly blacks, of the idea of “systemic racism” in our society as a means of promoting a race war and peddling CRT. When it comes to the 2024 presidential election, Republicans are far more enthusiastic about former President Trump running again than Democrats are about President Biden gaining a second term, new data from the December I&I/TIPP Poll show. It’s yet another sign that, a mere 11 months into his term, Biden’s support remains surprisingly weak within his own party. The I&I/TIPP Poll gave respondents the names of Trump and 15 other possible Republican candidates, asking “Who do you want to see run for president on the Republican ticket in 2024?” We asked the same question for the Democrats. Appearing Wednesday on a Washington Post Live interview, Fauci said Americans who invite others into their homes should “essentially ask and maybe require that people show evidence that they are vaccinated,

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is apparently convinced that the shoplifting and smash-and-grab robberies in California are a myth. But they are real, perversely spectacular, and likely to spread across the country if they remain unchecked. The retail heart of San Francisco, with its abundance of luxury shops, is usually overflowing with commerce at this time of the year. Instead, it’s become a “ghost town.” “Widespread ‘flash mob’ looting turned Union Square – the city’s most fashionable shopping district – into an area resembling a blighted neighborhood in Detroit,” Michael Shellenberger writes in a recent New York Post op-ed.

Everyone’s understandably focused today on how Cheney embarrassed Trump Jr and the Fox News gang by reading their texts to Trump on January 6. Ed has a nice write-up about it here. But don’t miss the forest for the trees. The point Cheney was making isn’t that Fox News hosts are hypocrites, although they are. The point is that the president’s own family and allies were pleading with him while the riot was unfolding to do something, yet he did nothing — for hours. Everyone around him treated it like an emergency. Not him. Was that a crime? Watch the end of this clip, starting at around 3:00.
