One of America’s most beloved national restaurant chains is at the center of a political firestorm over a picture of a controversial sign that was reportedly posted on the front door of one of its locations blaming staff shortages and reduced hours on President Joe Biden’s economic policies. Images of the sign captured at an International House of Pancakes location in Arkansas immediately went viral with users swarming Twitter to weigh in on the message which could become a public relations nightmare for the company that has served up delightful fare for over 60 years. According to the sign, which was noticed by a visitor to the eatery:

Comments:

Not surprising. A lot of the restaurants here in NE FL, both fast food and sit down, are the same way, and for the same reason.

If a restaurant or store put "Let's Go Brandon" on their marquee I would stop and buy something, even if I didn't need it.

"which could become a public relations nightmare for the company" A PR disaster only among the wokesters, perhaps. Those who are awake, instead of woke, know the message to be true. I hope this turns out to be a boon to them, rather than a bane; Let's Go Brandon.

Arkansas is a very conservative state, and most people fully agree with that sign. If the lie-berals from blue states try to push this, it will backfire in the same way it did when they went after Chic-file-A. The lines out the door in every IHop in the south will be around the block. I live in an uber lie-beral city (Austin, TX). Many restaurants here post offensive signs on their doors and walls. If I see that, I chose to not eat there. I don't demand that they take down their signs because I was offended. It's called being an adult. It's something that lie-beral snowflakes just can't comprehend.

While I'm aware of its derivation, and clearly see the amusement value, and also the prudent avoidance of an expletive statement, I feel kind of sorry for the ACTUAL Brandon at the origin. Maybe it's time to do the kind thing, and change the expression to: 'Let Go Biden!' As in...take your boot off our neck, you corrupt, brain-dead Commiecrat Usurper. #4 beat me to it. TaliBiden’s supporters are the kind who shop at Whole Foods and wouldn’t be caught dead in an IHOP. My family spent a week on the Outer Banks in mid September and every restaurant we tried to go to was seriously understaffed, usually with only one or two servers and maybe a bartender. They only had a fraction of their tables available and the wait times were ridiculous. FJB!

IHop isn't exactly "delightful fare" unless you are driving down a lonely Interstate at 4:00 am, then they are priceless. When Joe's generous unemployment and child bonuses stop there is going to be a flood of workers coming out of the woodwork. As an employer I would look hard at people who have that 2020-2021 gap in their resume and ask them why they were not working. Anyone who brags about staying home and collecting government money while ignoring all of the "Help Wanted" signs is not the kind of person I want.

I've watched Twitter from afar for almost a decade and using a "storm of protest" or a "backlash" in tweets as a metric for any organization or person is to be taken with enough grains of salt to fill the oceans. When Twitter attacks other conservative social media for bots which they did a few weeks ago know that the fascists always accuse their opponents for what they are masters at.

Our IHop closed a year ago. Which is strange because our western Colorado town is a bit red necky. There aren't that many beautiful people who live here except for a smaller group of woke retired doctors, dentists, and college professors. But do we have a labor shortage? God, yes. As an aside, our town's symphony orchestra is woke now and its board of directors voted to require concert goers to present proof of vax in order to buy concert tickets and to enter the concert hall. And for that, I wrote to the board's executive directors and explained why I withdrew a large donation pledge and will no longer go to any concerts and no more donations until they walk their foolish mandate back. My medical status is none of their business. Reverse canceling at its best. FJB

As Congress worked in recent days to increase the legal limit on the federal debt, the Treasury kept that debt artificially frozen at approximately $28.9 trillion, where it stood at the beginning of this week. With that limit lifted, the federal debt will take a jump upward, then keep steadily climbing, constantly increasing the burden on future taxpayers. In 2018, according to the last complete annual report on individual income tax returns published by the Internal Revenue Service, there were 100,424,240 households in the United States that filed what the IRS calls a "taxable return." The Salvation Army asked for more than donations this year. The Christian charitable organization asked all white donors to reflect on their racism this year. Wow. After a major uproar the Salvation Army backtracked over Thanksgiving weekend and released a statement refuting the claims of their racial demands. The Salvation Army then removed its absurd “Let’s Talk About Racism” guide following the intense backlash over a text last week that told white donors to “sincerely apologize” for their racism while hinting that Christianity is institutionally racist. Mainstream media outlets and Democrats can no longer ignore that inflation, one of the most terrifying economic events that can hit a country, is bad and getting worse. What's most disturbing, though, is that the headlines seriously understate what's really going on. Tucker Carlson, in a monologue that deserves wider attention than it received, reminds us that the feds changed their consumer price metrics in a way intended to obscure that inflation is actually worse than it was 40 years ago. Although I was a teen during inflation's peak years in the mid- to late 1970s, I got a front-row seat for watching how financially disastrous

The suppression of the off-patent, hence low-profit, drug ivermectin for use in preventing and treating COVID is grotesque and inhumane. Consider the case of a wife who died while hospitalized for COVID while her husband begged the hospital to administer a supply he had in hand but was refused. From the Epoch Times: David DeLuca of Sicklerville, New Jersey will never know if the Ivermectin prescribed by an out-of-state doctor for his wife would have saved her life. Vermont's Essex-Westford School District, which includes the town of Essex that last year fired a high school lifeguard for merely questioning Critical Race Theory, has done it again. In the midst of a national furor over a sexually explicit graphic novel, the school has proclaimed it has the duty to expose children to pornographic imagery — to support free speech. It is axiomatic that free speech rights do not extend fully into schools — they never have. For example, the First Amendment protects quite a shocking variety of pornographic materials, including bondage and rape videos. Are those acceptable, protected school teaching materials?

Mayor-elect Eric Adams has tapped Nassau County Chief of Detectives Keechant Sewell as the first female police commissioner of the NYPD — a stunning, close-to-home pick from a field of seasoned top women cops across the country, The Post has learned.“I’m here to meet the moment,” Sewell told The Post in an exclusive interview Tuesday, just a couple of weeks before she becomes the city’s 45th top cop. At a time when the NYPD and the city its officers are sworn to protect are at a crossroads over a sharp rise in street violence and years of anti-cop reforms, her name will join the fabled ranks

Experts have pushed back against claims that this weekend’s tragic tornadoes in Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, and Tennessee can be clearly linked to manmade climate change. (snip) professor and climate economist Richard S.J. Tol of the University of Sussex explained why it is so difficult to connect weather events on the scale of a tornado to shifts in the Earth’s climate. “Tornadoes are small, rarely more than 3 kilometers in diameter. The most advanced climate models, however, cannot see things that are smaller than 9 by 9 km. More than 1,500 previously classified JFK assassination files have today been made public, including documents about killer Lee Harvey Oswald's contact with a KGB agent two months before the shooting. The files were released at noon on Wednesday by the National Archives, after months of delays by Biden who had promised to make them public but then stalled, claiming COVID backlogs was the reason. Not all of them are now public - some are still being held back for further review by the NSA until next December, a move that has been slammed by members of Kennedy's family.

President Joe Biden headlined the Democratic National Committee's glamorous holiday party on Tuesday night, giving a speech in which he touted his administration's agenda and railed against Republican objection to Democrats' voting rights legislation. He said the GOP was following Donald Trump 'into the abyss' by fueling baseless claims the 2020 election was rigged.'As Democrats, we stand for the people,' his VP Kamala Harris said in her own speech. 'And we will fight for the people.' Hours after speaking to a 400-person audience full of top Democrats and DNC donors the president struck a more somber tone in a statement memorializing the 800,000 Americans who have died of COVID-19 so far.
