Mayor-elect Eric Adams has tapped Nassau County Chief of Detectives Keechant Sewell as the first female police commissioner of the NYPD — a stunning, close-to-home pick from a field of seasoned top women cops across the country, The Post has learned.“I’m here to meet the moment,” Sewell told The Post in an exclusive interview Tuesday, just a couple of weeks before she becomes the city’s 45th top cop. At a time when the NYPD and the city its officers are sworn to protect are at a crossroads over a sharp rise in street violence and years of anti-cop reforms, her name will join the fabled ranks

The mayor-elect passed up a chance to have a police commissioner named Outlaw. )My school once had Patrick Murphy as a speaker. Murphy was police commissioner of NYC in the 1960s. I attended a small lunch group with him, and he bragged that he didn't carry a gun. I wanted to ask him what he would do if the restaurant was held up while he was there, but I was too polite This new chief wants to use the broken windows approach, so no one must have told her about the no bail insanity in NY State.

After only a little over one year, she is selected as NYC Police Commish leading over 36,000 uniformed cops. Wow. I am not surprised. I watched the Mayor elect in his presser explaining what he would be looking for as he searched for the new NYC Police Commissioner. He listed as his first qualities - empathy and compassion. Washington state lawmakers introduced a bill this month that would reduce penalties for drive-by shootings with the aim of "promoting racial equity." The bill, introduced by Democratic Representatives Tarra Simmons and David Hackney ahead of the state's 2022 legislative session, would eliminate drive-by shootings as the basis for elevating a first-degree murder charge to aggravated murder in the first degree, which carries a mandatory sentence of life imprisonment. Drive-by shootings were added to the list of aggravating factors for murder charges in 1995.

As the Biden administration continues to fumble its response to the latest wave of the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic, threats of additional restrictions are looming. Last night, President Joe Biden told reporters he would implement a vaccine requirement for domestic flights if his medical team recommended it. Earlier this week, Dr. Anthony Fauci did just that. (Tweet/Video) The main problem, in addition to unconstitutional decrees issued by public health officials, is Americans have lost faith in the medical establishment to be honest and follow the science when issuing recommendations.

It's not clear who Biden believed he was protecting or who he felt he needed protection from as the only other people on the beach, the secret service, didn't come within 10 yards.

The House of Representatives has passed a bill that seeks to eradicate blasphemy against Islam. The bill, H.R. 5665, is truly remarkable as it amounts to Congress making a law respecting the establishment of Islam and reducing the United States government into a tool of the world’s ayatollahs. The actual text of the bill not only seeks to eradicate blasphemy against Islam around the world – and solely against Islam at that – but even requires the federal government to reorganize some portions of the State Department along the lines of an Islamic religious institution which will be responsible for interpreting the Quran.

Congress, never high in the public’s estimation to begin with, fell from 26 percent to a mere 12 percent.
