Fox News Channel’s "Tucker Carlson Tonight" averaged nearly five million viewers on Monday during the news-making, exclusive first interview with Kyle Rittenhouse, dominating cable news and outdrawing CNN and MSNBC combined. "Tucker Carlson Tonight" averaged 4.9 million viewers from 8-9 p.m. ET, compared to only 1.2 million for MSNBC and a dismal 762,000 for struggling CNN during the same time period. It was the second-highest rated episode of "Tucker" this year and outdrew CNN by 549%. "Tucker" also crushed competitors among the advertiser-coveted demographic of adults age 25-54, averaging a staggering 891,000 demo viewers compared to 180,000 for CNN and

President Joe Biden had an audible slip-up when he read off more than he should have during a speech. The moment, reminiscent of fictional TV newsman Ron Burgundy reading everything he sees on the teleprompter in the Will Ferrell movie Anchorman, happened during remarks Tuesday about the rising gas prices at the White House while explaining the state of the economy . "Because of the actions we've taken, things have begun to change. End of quote," Biden said without pause. Biden did not appear to notice the minor gaffe, continuing to elaborate on people's concerns regarding inflation and gas prices.

A lawyer for one of the three White men accused of the fatal shooting of Ahmaud Arbery came under fire Monday for highlighting the slain man's "dirty toenails" in her closing argument. "Turning Ahmaud Arbery into a victim after the choices that he made does not reflect the reality of what brought Ahmaud Arbery to Satilla Shores in his khaki shorts with no socks to cover his long, dirty toenails," Lauren Hogue told the panel, referring to a description from the autopsy report. The comment prompted Arbery's mother Wanda Cooper-Jones to exclaim "Wow!" and exit the Glynn County courtroom in

Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume thinks there’s a significant chance President Joe Biden doesn’t run for reelection, even suggesting he doesn’t finish his current four-year term. On Special Report Monday night, Bret Baier asked Hume about the White House confirming President Biden intends to run for reelection in 2024. “I don’t think it’s at all clear that he intends to run again, but I do think as a political matter, you have to say that,” Hume remarked. The instant he makes that announcement, Hume argued, Biden becomes a lame duck — “and lame duck presidents don’t do well.”

Even though the COVID-19 pandemic continues to rage on, nearly three-quarters of Americans (74 percent) now say their lives have returned to “normal,” according to a new Yahoo News/YouGov poll. It’s a number that underscores both the progress made possible by safe and effective vaccines and the challenges ahead as the holidays approach and yet another winter wave gets underway in the United States. The survey of 1,696 adults, which was conducted from Nov. 17 to 19, found that only 15 percent say that things “never stopped being normal” for them — a reminder of just how profoundly the virus

The trial of the three men accused of slaying Ahmaud Arbery has Black Americans walking on pins and needles once again. Whatever the jury decides, I’m afraid, will fail to address a damming question that the tragic incident symbolizes: How can Black people ever be secure in America? Executed by three strangers while jogging in a white neighborhood, Arbery’s killing reflects the mindset of domination in the culture of white supremacy: the belief that any random white person has the right to accost and detain a Black person with impunity. Authorities are ready to accept their claims of righteous endangerment–even

The last Kmart in Michigan closed Sunday, putting an official end to a longtime Michigan staple. Located in Marshall, a suburb of Battle Creek with a population a little more than 7,000, at 15861 Michigan Ave., it has been the last Kmart in Michigan since 2020. It was the only national big-box retailer in the immediate area, likely what allowed it to stay in business until now. You can go in and buy a birthday present if you need to, without going out of town," said Brenda Hoyt, Marshall resident, in a previous Free Press article. "Clothes, toys, projects for

Longtime U.S. Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson, D-Dallas, announced Saturday she is not running for reelection after serving nearly three decades in Congress. “I have gone back and forth … the whole time because of the pleading and the asking, but as of January … the year after next, I will step down,” Johnson said during an event in Dallas. "I will retire, and let me assure that I will also recommend to you whom I feel is the best to follow me." Johnson added she is looking for a "female that is qualified." First elected to Congress in 1992, Johnson

President Joe Biden celebrates his 79th birthday on Saturday, November 20 by marking a new milestone in presidential history but likely adding to speculation about his own political future. Biden was already the oldest person ever to serve as president but now he's 79-years-old, he's set another new record for the greatest age reached by any serving commander in chief. (Snip) Critics have previously cited Biden's age as a cause for concern, with some calling on him to take a cognitive test and others openly suggesting there are problems with the president's mental acuity. Biden reportedly did not undergo a cognitive

Mark Richards, Kyle Rittenhouse's criminal defense attorney, told Insider that he has received so many death threats that he was no longer using his own cellphone. Richards said that he "can't count" the number of death threats he's received recently. "It's too high," he added. The attorney has since taken to using his wife's cellphone, which he used to speak to Insider, but added that her number has also been targeted by people making death threats. Richards said: "I would love for things to change, for people to talk to one another without fighting, but, unfortunately, I don't see it

Police opened fire on anti-lockdown protesters in the Dutch city of Rotterdam Friday as several European cities braced for further demonstrations against new Covid restrictions over the weekend. “On a number of occasions the police felt it necessary to draw their weapons to defend themselves,” Rotterdam Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb told reporters after protesters tore through the city’s central shopping district, setting fires in their wake. Describing the scenes as "an orgy of violence," he added that “people were injured,” after officers "shot at protesters," although he could not provide information on the extent of their injuries. SAN FRANCISCO — The Louis Vuitton store in San Francisco’s Union Square was hit in a brazen smash-and-grab robbery Friday night.
