Fox News contributors Jonah Goldberg and Stephen Hayes have resigned following the release of Tucker Carlson's documentary on the January 6 Capitol insurrection, "Patriot Purge," citing concerns about the documentary's potential to incite violence and the cable news outlet's direction of coverage in the post-Trump era, The New York Times reported.

Comments:

Oh, happy day! I look forward to not watching either of them after they move on to CNN/MSNBC.

Personally, I do not agree with either Goldberg or Hayes opinions. I find Hayes to be such a squishy commentator and he lacks the ability to persuade me because he uses fake news as facts. I can break apart his argument/opinion within seconds. I believe both of these guys hate Trump and his supporters so much because they know Trump has been right and they have been wrong. Biden/Harris admin is THE proof, AND know it and were burned with an inept plea...

I used to enjoy Jonah very much. For various valid reasons, he was repulsed by the over-the-top hyperbole of Trump, but Jonah's protest against it has pushed him too far away, to the point he is unable to see the truth.

A few years ago I liked both of these commentators who were intelligent conservatives who spoke mostly common sense. However, for both, Trump became the stumbling block that caused them to start acting bizarrely and non-conservatively for purely personal reasons. As many on this news forum remember, it took me more than a year to warm up to Trump--I supported Sen. Cruz--but I came around when I realized that Trump was on our side. A week or two back Steve Hayes irritated me by reacting vehemently to the notion that 1.) 1/6 was not a serious insurrection, and 2.) the 2020 election was stolen for Biden by the Democrats, big tech, and the de facto Democrat corporate press. Stop supporting Democrat lies, Steve and Jonah. The Left won't accept you. You fell away from what you allegedly believed, like the miserable Joe Scarborough. A lot of people do that by believing what isn't true, then doubling down. This time you lost. Bad decision.

Two men more concerned about people's reaction to truth than the truth. They're sheep herders, not analysists. And in 2016, when Democrats were beating Trump supporters showing up at rallies in Democrat cities, Jonah said there is no civil war in America, because there is no violence. I really don't know what the national intelligence swamp found (or created) on this guy, but it must be a doozy.

Truth is truth and hiding it because it may ‘incite violence’ is what communist dictators do. There is ample evidence that the politicized corrupt FBI was involved in the Jan 6 incident. After everything they’ve done it is not a stretch to accuse of them of this and these two elitist clowns know it. Tucker is a gold mine for Fox. He isn’t going anywhere.

It's not hard to imagine Obama's national intelligence community working the guys at National Review in in 2016 with piles of fake "intelligence". I guess its too embarrassing for Jonah (and Frum) to admit their gullibility. In the end, they have shown themselves to be Beltway Tribalists, not American Patriots. Goldberg left the reservation right after Trump became the candidate - apparently he rightly realized Trump wasn't going to pay attention to any of his cute-but-meaningless babble. As for Hayes, he was never well-suited to comment on anything Trump - he's always been more of a Pence or Bush (both) or Dole kind of journo. So, yes, along with Juan and Jerry Rivers, and a few more less-obviously (yet still) squishy at FNC, you're fired!!!

I could care less about Jonah Goldberg, even though I realizes he is Lucianne's son. He continues to kowtow to the woke left, probably because he wants to get invited to the right parties and eat in the right restaurants, where I am sure he is barely tolerated. I didn't even realize he was a contributor on Fox, probably because I don't watch Fox anymore, except to see Tucker Carlson's program. There a few actual journalists left on Fox, but they are getting fewer and far between. And Stephen Hayes? Meh.

Another explanation for Goldberg’s Trump hatred is that in any other Republican administration his wife would have been in line for an influential position, when Trump won the nomination that was dashed. That’s why the Trump hatred remained even after he won.

It seems even the most prestigious legal institution in the land is not immune to COVID, that is the politics of it all. Yet, it didn’t come before we all saw how wrong the liberal wing of the Court was on the issue. I’m not talking about legal differences. I’m talking about facts. U.S. prosecutors decided to end their criminal case against two Manhattan jail guards who admitted to falsifying records on the night the financier Jeffrey Epstein killed himself on their watch. In a Thursday filing in Manhattan federal court, prosecutors asked a judge to dismiss claims against Tova Noel and Michael Thomas, after both complied with the six-month deferred prosecution agreements they agreed to in May. Epstein was found hanging in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center on Aug. 10, 2019, while awaiting trial for sex trafficking, in what New York City's medical examiner called a suicide.

The time-honored tradition of naming a law professorship after a famous scholar or donor has gone off the rails a bit at a University of Arkansas law school — and the twist involves none other than the would-be honoree himself, former President Bill Clinton. Newly released records show the scandal-plagued former president had withdrawn his approval for a teaching chair to be named after himself at the William H. Bowen School of Law. Yet emeritus professor John DiPippa, who has held the post since it was first endowed in 2000, recently dubbed it the Clinton chair anyway.

If U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson made a New Year's resolution to take a more measured approach when discussing public policy, it didn't take him long to break it. Because the state's most polarizing politician is already back to offering his often wild and controversial take on things in 2022. Johnson — who last year advised using mouthwash to combat COVID-19 and labeled Social Security a Ponzi scheme — has already roped God into his bizarre take on vaccines and again questioned the seriousness of last year's Capitol riot. Now he's taking on a new topic: out-of-wedlock births.CORRECTION*
