SAN FRANCISCO — Sticker shock at San Francisco Bay Area gas pumps was beginning to reach panic levels early Monday as prices surged to more than $4.85 a gallon, setting a new record for the state for a second day in a row. Prices were pushing $5 in some areas, including in Humboldt County, where the average price was $4.97 Monday. (Snip) Rep. It is being driven by the extremist authoritarian socialist left. - Cause shortages, in this case, in the energy enterprise (gasoline, propane, natural gas, #2 home heating fuel, diesel, etc.). - Keep the lefty not so bright LoFo lemmings clueless. - Blame fossil fuels for global warming problems (hunger, famine, war, people who tweet mean things, mean police, the un-woke, unvaccinated troglodytes, etc. - Push/mandate (and keep pushing/mandating) the flawed and wasteful green dream - Interim objective: Controlling the people, industries (energy, media, commerce, health, education, welfare, etc.). - End goal: A one party political system, overseers to the ignorant masses, controlled by the Party elites. It never ends well (National Socialist Germany, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Maoist China, present day PRC, Venezuela, NK, to name but a few).

Bass is part of the problem, not the solution - as I recall she was on the short list for VP. Something needs to be done to hold down prices - DRILL BABY, DRILL. You idiots created this mess, you can use up the strategic reserve (bad idea), ask OPEC to drill more (bad idea), wait for a green energy (bad idea), or DRILL. It is too late, the Amtrak has left the station - 2022 is going to be a Red Tsunami.

Simple, Joe. Just go on your knees to the Arabs, Russians, and Africans and beg for more exports to our carbon-poor country. Show them your best servile smile--you know, the one you always flash when you've just emptied your bowels in front of royalty. Also, beg them for help at our ports, so that their tankers can go to the front of the line of cargo ships already trying to get in. Maybe Hunter can help swing the deal, Big Guy.

I can vouch for this, as a resident in the SF East Bay Area. In mid-January, I paid $2.899 for a gallon of regular unleaded at our local Costco. This morning, I paid $4.359. California did raise its per gallon gasoline tax in July — by 0.6 cents per gallon to 51.2 cents per gallon — so this has not been a major factor in the increase of gas prices over the past 10 months. Thank you, Zhao Xiden, for your policies to destroy the U.S. economy to “fight” “climate change.” China, Russia, Iran, and our other enemies do not need to do anything to defeat us economically or militarily, just to sit back and watch us self-destruct under the Xiden regime. Liberal Democrats have overplayed their hand allowing higher gas prices thinking it will jumpstart the general public to buy EVs. The EV revolution is going to stretch out over decades as it catches up with commercial charging infrastructure and depreciation and wear out of ICE vehicles. Concern over high gas prices now are an indication that consumers don’t see selling their ICE vehicles an buying expensive EVs as a viable financial near term solution. Tens of thousands of dollars are at stake for consumers. Cheaper to vote out Democrats than buy an EV when you have a perfectly good ICE vehicle. Liberal Democrats remind me of the old Soviet Union. Decide on a five year plan with no possibility of implementing it and no concern for the chaos to ordinary people’s lives.

LOS ANGELES — Customers at Los Angeles restaurants will only get plastic utensils and napkins if they ask for them, under a new ordinance taking effect Monday that aims to reduce waste. The rule requires all restaurants with more than 26 employees to remove all single-use plastic utensil dispensers, the Los Angeles Times reported. Businesses must also stop including plastic utensils and napkins with takeout orders or for dine-in meals unless a customer specifically asks for them. Enforcement won’t begin until January. Over 32,000 mailers were sent out earlier this year to update restaurants on the new rules. The letters

As Vermont reports higher than ever COVID-19 case rates, state health officials have been trying to understand why. "But, there are clearly factors that have come together to create the situation that we're in now." Slowing the spread is critical right now to prevent Vermont's hospitals from being overwhelmed with people sick with the virus, Levine said.
