Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun on a set in New Mexico on Thursday, accidentally killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza. The incident occurred on the set of “Rust,” an independent feature that was filming at the Bonanza Creek Ranch, a popular production location south of Santa Fe. Hutchins, 42, was transported by helicopter to University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque, where she died. Souza, 48, was taken by ambulance to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center in Santa Fe, where he is undergoing treatment for his injuries, according to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s office.

Brandon Lee (Bruce Lee's son) was kiiled in 1993 when shot by a prop gun fired at him during the filming of a scene for the movie 'The Crow'. The cinematographer and director are front line crew. This is a weapons handling failure. Hollywood, under constant content pressure, needs a stand-down.

The investigation should be interesting. If the prop gun was truly loaded with blanks, it would have had to have been fired in very close proximity to kill and/or injure two people, most likely Baldwin was horsing around and “jokingly” brought the gun close to the others.

In what sense was this "a prop gun"? It sounds like it was just "a gun". Anti-gunners are proud of their ignorance of firearms, and this is what happens when willfully ignorant (or just plain stupid) people handle dangerous tools they don't understand. Negligence all around.

Why was the POS aiming a gun of any sort at a cinematographer? This doesn't come close to passing the smell test.

I wonder if it makes sense to use real guns with blanks anymore. Graphics and sound equipment can now produce all of the flashes, smoke, and sounds needed.

Baldwin will walk just like all liberals. But hopes are he will be haunted the rest of his life and pay a high price ($) for his stupidity and carelessness. He always did act like a know it all! God bless Hutchins and her family.

I learned at age 12 in 1963 to check the chamber of any gun to insure it is empty before handling it or loading it. If a revolver, empty the revolving chambers. This is fundamental. I've used a blank-shooting pistol in the past, and I treated it the same as a live-ammo gun. I have two .22's, three shotguns, four pellet rifles, and earned an "expert" marksmanship badge firing an M-16 in the U.S. Army. No actor should be goofing around with any prop gun until he/she has passed a juvenile's firearms safety course. Will this put a crimp in Baldwin's braggadocios swagger as a Trump critic and impersonator?

I learned as a child to make sure what's in your gun before shooting it. It was 55 or so years ago I thought the gun was empty but as I was taught; pointed it a the ground and was very surprised to have a live round blow a huge hole in the ground. What idiot doesn't check any gun before aiming it at a person. That Baldwin twit has always been a loser and I hope he finally pays the price for his stupidity.

Attorney Andrew Stoltmann believes actor Alec Baldwin “needs to start thinking like a potential defendant instead of just somebody who made a tragic mistake.” “There are crimes that cover this sort of situation depending on his level of culpability.” “I’m certainly not saying he’s going to be charged,” the Chicago-based attorney told Fox News, “but what I am saying is anytime somebody shoots another human being – even on accident, even in self-defense – the police and eventually prosecutors look very, very carefully at what happened.” “There are literally about a hundred different issues that would need to be resolved, but there is something called negligent homicide,”

On Wednesday, President Biden traveled to Scranton, Pennsylvania, to sell his doomed “human infrastructure” bill, which smells more like an un-showered Green New Deal and quacks like another welfare boondoggle. “The cost of the Build Back Better bill in terms of adding to the deficit is zero, zero, zero,” he lied, lied, lied. “Because we’re going to pay for it all.” Well, yes, you better believe we are going to pay for it. Just not in the way Mr. Biden claims. This bill is “paid for” — just like every other dime of the $28 trillion in debt these dirty louts have racked up in your name over the past several decades.

When specifically asked about the data that he was basing his decision on, he said, “The National School Board Association represents thousands of school boards and school board members and says that there are these kinds of threats.”

Somehow, someone made the decision to let Joe Biden out and to go to a CNN town hall. I’m not sure who thought this was a good idea. But even within the friendly confines of CNN, it was a complete train wreck — even by Biden standards. After years of silence, we finally started to get news regarding John Durham’s probe into the Trump-Russia investigation. As RedState reported, Michael Sussmann, one of the shadowy lawyers at the center of the false Alfa Bank story targeting the Donald Trump campaign, was indicted. Then something happened last week that raised eyebrows. The FBI raided the residence of Oleg Deripaska. While the left tried to spin it as another move against Paul Manafort, others suspected it had something to do with the Durham investigation. That theory was bolstered today after it was revealed that the scope of Durham’s investigation is reaching much farther than originally thought.

Two new polls should increase Democrats’ 2022 worries. Republicans are motivated, as demonstrated by the Virginia governor’s race. Rather than an easy win for Democrat Terry McAuliffe, it looks like it will be a slug-out with Republican challenger Glenn Youngkin to the bitter end. If Youngkin wins or even comes close, it has enormous implications for Democrats going into 2022. Americans’ perception of Joe Biden as weak or ineffective won’t help. According to Rasmussen, most Americans are not confident in Joe Biden’s ability to do the job of president. Rumman Chowdhury, the head of Twitter's machine learning, ethics, transparency and accountability (META) team, told Protocol that the study only showed results based on bias in amplification–not what caused it. The content could be amplified for any reason. In short, the study was unable to determine whether Twitter’s home feed algorithms are biased towards conservative content. Interestingly, Twitter did not specify which outlets or politicians are considered “right-wing” by the platform. "We can see that it is happening. We are not entirely sure why it is happening.

My thoughts are with the loved ones she left behind. To give a sense of Baldwin’s hostility to gun rights, in 2018, the smug and constitutionally illiterate Baldwin had some harsh words for Dana Loesch, an NRA spokeswoman

First things first. National Review Editor Rich Lowry is not a “die-hard” Trump fan. We’ll offer several examples later in the article — but let’s first get to the business at hand. As Lowry sees it, it’s a fool’s game to overestimate Trump’s dominance of the Republican Party this far in advance of the 2024 election. Lowry writes, in an op-ed posted by The New York Post on Friday, that Republican politicians who think the Republican Party belongs to Trump can be forgiven, given that he not only survived two impeachments and the January 6 attack against the U.S. Capitol; he has since continued to thrive.
