After the patron saint of restricting Americans’ freedoms suggested we might need to cancel Christmas, I suppose this shouldn’t come as all that much of a surprise. The CDC is announcing today that they are recommending that Americans celebrate Thanksgiving virtually again this year. You probably don’t need me to tell you that this is one turkey of an idea that Joe Biden isn’t going to be able to make fly. But the new guidelines have all sorts of unpleasant nuggets built into them for any of you dangerous people who still insist on carving up the turkey with your family. Oh, and you have to scroll

With virtual turkeys - start with Fauci and Company. (Celebs and ANTIFA rioters exempt)

Given that the CDC is recommending holding a virtual Thanksgiving meal this year, our Thanksgiving meal has been cancelled. However, and only by coincidence, we will be holding a wake for our beloved, soon to be departed pet turkey, Randolph on 25 Nov, 2021. A viewing ceremony will commence at or about 1pm, with prayer for Randolph at 2pm followed immediately with a table spread of heavy refreshments. Attire will be casual. Randolph will have liked it that way.

We're having just family this year instead of the usual family and friends get together. The reason? It's too much work to put together for people in their mid sixties to have a party for over thirty people even if it's only once a year. So it's the immediate family this year which will still comprise about 15 people.

One minute you "tell us" wear a mask. (Which I don't) and in the next minute you tell us we don't need to wear a mask if we had covid or have been vaccinated. Looks like a plan to me. If the vaccine works, Thanksgiving should be ok. If masks work, Thanksgiving should be ok. If all of the unvaccinated are fired from their jobs due to vaccine mandates, Covid will magically go away, so Thanksgiving will be ok. If we all ignore the CDC recommendation to skip a family Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving will be ok. Like most viruses, Covid isn't going away. it is basically the flu. Take precautions, live your life and everything should be ok.

Food companies are coming under renewed pressure to use less salt after U.S. regulators spelled out long-awaited guidelines aimed at reducing sodium levels in dozens of foods including condiments, cereals, french fries and potato chips. The voluntary goals finalized Wednesday for 163 foods are intended to help lower the amount of salt people eat. A majority of the sodium in U.S. diets comes from packaged or restaurant foods — not the salt added to meals at home — making it hard for people to make changes on their own. To get people used to eating less salt, the Food and Drug Administration said reductions have to be gradual and  CORRECTIONS*
