Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said Tuesday he is not “bluffing” on Senate Republicans’ stand on the debt ceiling. McConnell told Punchbowl News that Republicans will not help the Democrat-controlled Congress raise the debt ceiling, which is required for the government to continue operating alongside a bill to fund the government. The leading Senate Republican said that Democrats have the onus of raising the debt ceiling:

Comments:

Mitch and Republicans are not messing around this time, they're serious. No kidding. They're going to stand their ground. They promise. Cross their heart, hope to die, stick a needle in their eye. Mitch and his gang are finally going to stand up to the leftists, gosh darn it.

Not raising the debt ceiling makes the Federal Government live within its cash collection means. Can't add to net borrowings. Don't need a Balanced Budget Amendment....

Mitch, don't look but you have egg yolk on your chin, and you are drooling on your loafers. Your electric wheelchair is charged up and you are ready for another busy busy day in the office plotting and scheming on how to spend money. Debt ceiling? Hahahaha. Sure right youbetcha. So what's different this time? Nothing. You will roll over to prove you can spend this country into oblivion in a bipartisan manner. Now get back to work.

Pssst...ya know, after 18months of the ENTIRE COUNTRY being shutdown, while Govt still drew 100% pay, (in fact doubled spending), the Dems threatening a "Shut down" are not anywhere near as likely to scare anyone. Even Congress Dems are still "voting by proxy", not even showing up at their jobs.

Yeah, yeah, we've heard this so many times in the past. We are going to shut down the government, etc. Obama shut down the national monuments, that showed 'em. For those with short memories, the shutdown is planned for some dark midnight and then suddenly a backroom deal is made and Mitch and the gang open the purse again. There is so little difference between republicans and democrats that ballots in the voting booth no longer need more than one check box on them.

The latest Golden/TIPP poll shows that nearly two-thirds (63 percent) of Americans believe the Biden administration’s way of withdrawing from Afghanistan was a mistake. Biden’s botched withdrawal ended with the deaths of 13 U.S servicemembers and many wounded, along with hundreds of Americans still trapped in the Taliban-controlled country. The poll asked respondents, “Please indicate the extent to which you agree or disagree with the statement: The way the Biden Administration executed the withdrawal from Afghanistan was a mistake.”

I ask this question for two reasons: I have seen enough videos and read about enough officer-civilian interactions to know that the act of subduing a lethal threat requires several rounds. If an intruder entered my home and threatened my wife and child, I would shoot until I was able to ensure the target was immobilized. As to the first statement, there are plenty of examples of police officers firing multiple shots at a suspected threat. In the past year, the American public has been thoroughly able to parse through the shootings of criminals like Breonna Taylor and Antonio Brown, to name just two examples.

A common term we use to describe certain folks is ‘Cafeteria Catholics,’ with the most easily identifiable being politicians like Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, and Andrew Cuomo.
