A Chicago police officer has died, and another officer is fighting for his life following a traffic stop Saturday night that ended in gunfire, officials said. Two suspects are in custody, said Eric Carter, First Deputy Superintendent of Police, during a news briefing early Sunday. "This evening, Chicago mourns the loss of one of its bravest and finest. And we have another officer who is struggling and fighting for his very life," Carter said. Officers were conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle with three people, two men and a woman, near 63rd Street and South Bell Avenue, when the

FTA: Carter didn't provide additional details on the suspects, noting the current information is preliminary and the investigation is ongoing. We know exactly why. This whole BLM bit of insanity began with black people attacking cops and will end in massive retaliation once these lightheaded mayors realize that they once again need police protection. Anger is building up in the police who have remained on the job and a price will be paid. Even in a very low crime suburban city here in east Kansas, a friend who was a police officer was shot during a routine traffic stop. Fortunately, even though shot in the head, he recovered fully. He survived because, even in a "safe city" he followed training and advice and was paying close attention as he approached the driver door, saw the gun coming up a split second before it was fired, and jerked his head just enough to make the head wound non-deadly. Every single day, police officers put themselves in danger to try to minimize the violence in society. We should respect that. Some are jerks, or worse, but most are good people working hard to keep everyone safer.
