OAKLAND — Oakland Chinatown Chamber of Commerce President Carl Chan asked Gov. Gavin Newsom on Tuesday to deploy California Highway Patrol officers to the city’s troubled streets and declare a local state of emergency in an attempt to stem the rapidly rising tide of brazen robberies and violent assaults. (Snip) “The rash of shootings, carjacking, assaults and robberies hold the city of Oakland hostage,” said Chan. “Citizens are living in the continuous state of fear for our safety, well being, livelihoods and future.” Chan blamed the rise in violent crimes on the “defund the police” movement in part, but also

It is when the liberal elitists face common, down to earth, day-to-day reality that things get moving.......... Aug 11, 2021 "“Reckless driving that kills people, robberies that involve vehicles like what to our beloved U.S. Senator Boxer, that is going to really get under control with help from the state and I am so grateful,” she added. “I’m grateful for the governor’s rapid response and grateful for the additional resources.” Schaaf was referring to the July 26 incident in which former U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer said she was assaulted and robbed in Oakland’s Jack London Square. She was not seriously injured."

Go ahead, say it, Mister Chan. The Chosen Ones are reverting back to the way their tribes functioned four hundred years ago. Maybe you could contribute a little more to the reparations fund. Or you could use the money to buy yourselves some firepower because the police are always minutes away but they fill out nice reports.

Almost every attack on Asian people are either blacks or other Asians. And the most violent attacks are almost always black on Asian. When the crime statistic clearly show that, why won't anyone actually say it?!?!?!? You aren't being prejudiced if you are just stating what the facts actually show!!! You can't solve a problem until you are willing to actually understand what that problem is, and political correctness is getting Asian people hurt and killed on a daily basis!!!

Try not trusting politicians in your new place to takeover and run your community because it always ends in this. The people make the community nice not government.

Another liberal run utopia. Defund the police. Allow Antifa to riot and attack, Allow BLM riots and looting. Allow out of control homelessness., Raise taxes. Make it harder to own a business. Allow illegals to come in, give them drivers license, give them free money, education, prioritize them over US citizens. Make it hard to own a gun. Then expect things to go smooth. If they don't blame racism and the Republicans who are almost non-existent in the communist cesspool AKA California.

A powerful 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Haiti on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said, and authorities reported multiple deaths. The U.S. Tsunami Warning System temporarily issued a tsunami warning after the quake, which was felt in neighboring countries. "I can confirm that there are deaths, but I don't yet have an exact toll," Jerry Chandler, Haiti's director of civil protection, told AFP. "We're still collecting information." The epicenter of the quake was 7.5 miles northeast of Saint-Louis du Sud, according to the USGS. "High casualties are probable and the disaster is likely widespread," the USGS said.

KABUL, Afghanistan -- The Taliban seized two more provinces on Saturday and approached the outskirts of Afghanistan's capital while also launching a multi-pronged assault on a major northern city defended by former warlords, Afghan officials said. The insurgents have captured much of northern, western and southern Afghanistan in a breakneck offensive less than three weeks before the United States is set to withdraw its last troops, raising fears of a full militant takeover or another Afghan civil war. The Taliban captured all of Logar province, just south of the capital, Kabul, and detained local officials, said Hoda Ahmadi, a lawmaker from

This week’s White House Report Card finds President Joe Biden spending another weekend out of Washington, where his domestic and foreign policies have been weathering political storms. He won an early fight on his infrastructure bill, but the Democrats are already warring on the follow-up $3.5 trillion spend-a-thon. Afghanistan is spiraling out of control. And inflation is roaring. Our graders were in agreement that it was one of Biden’s worst weeks. Democratic pollster John Zogby graded a D, calling it a “horrible week.” Conservative Jed Babbin dished an F and mocked Biden’s praise for disgraced New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Mr. Biden has made no remarks about the rapidly deteriorating situation in Afghanistan since Tuesday, as the Taliban swiftly unravels two decades of U.S. investments in the nation and jeopardizes Afghan lives. On Tuesday, two days before he ordered the reduction of civilian personnel at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, the president said he didn't regret his

MINNEAPOLIS -- Minneapolis police will no longer stop motorists for minor traffic violations, such as expired tabs or an air freshener hanging from their rearview mirror, according to a new policy change. Police Chief Medaria Arrandondo, in an internal memo Thursday, said the move comes after examining how officers can better use time and resources. “MPD will no longer be conducting traffic stops solely for these offenses: expired tabs, an item dangling from a mirror, or not having a working license plate light,” Arradondo wrote in the memo obtained by the Star Tribune.
